Wombat And Kangaroo Are Obsessed With Each Other | The Dodo Odd Couples

Who would ever have thought a wombat and a kangaroo would be such great pals. We put them in a little area together and right from the start, Buggy was just all over Wally. Wally's grazing on the ground and Buggy's following him, just sucking on his ears the whole time. It was like, what's going on here? That was really weird. And every time we put them out together, that's what they do. When we brought them back inside for pouch time, we'd set them up in two little separate pouches. I'd go away, come back two minutes later, and Wally's either in Buggy's bag or Buggy's kidding on Wally. It's just crazy because we're not even the same species, yet they seem to really want to cuddle. What are you two doing? Huh? What are you doing in his bag, Buggy? Honestly, we couldn't keep them apart. And as they got bigger, it got harder because Wally was this big brick and he'd go in and he'd be sitting on top of poor Buggy. Wally, poor Buggy. We saw a wombat on the side of the road and decided to pull over. He had to cut this little bit out of his mom's pouch. Look at him, he's so sweet. We brought him home. He's following daddy. Wally loves to play. Wally's like a little dog. We had him for about two months before we found Buggy. Buggy was found at the local golf course. He was hiding in the bushes. We always put them outside together. Buggy just followed Wally along. I don't know if it was a security thing. They're both young. Probably didn't see their mom. I'd go out the back and the two of them would be spooning. They didn't ever leave each other's side. Buggy decided he loved the heat from the fire. I'd come back in the room and there's Wally all cuddled up next to Buggy in front of the fire. They did a lot of canoodling in front of our fireplace. Wally is nocturnal so we very rarely see him out during the day. He's kind of really released. When he is out he does search out Buggy. Buggy's still here but Buggy's like really big now. He's out the back and he hangs out with Ernie. So Ernie's the emu. But the relationship is not the same as what he has with Wally. Like that was his all-time pal.
