A Climbing Day with Chris Sharma

Hello, so we're here at my home crag, Cova d'Ocel, it's just about 40 minutes outside of Barcelona and you know it's cool, it's a really beautiful little local crag and I think by world standards it's actually really high quality but I guess it's a small cliff with not so many roots and they're all really hard so it's never a spot that's going to get too crowded. having two kids, you know running a business, yeah finding time to go climbing is it's just constantly juggling your time trying to fit all the pieces together and it's not easy, anyone who has kids can can tell you that but for me it's been a new experience and yeah it's been an amazing experience but I'm just super grateful to have this place to come to, it's like my escape, I try to come here twice a week and yeah so I've been working on this last year of the many different projects I have around Catalonia and Spain, this one route that I bolted just to the left of Bon Combat which is another 9b or 9a plus and it's this super futuristic, super bouldery kind of slightly old school yet super super new school at the same time. For me at this moment you know just balancing all these different things in my life and you know climbing is still something that's really important for my happiness and I think the way I can be the best, most effective and best parent and you know with my business and all these things is to be able to go climbing, it keeps me sane, it keeps me grounded, keeps me in touch with like who I really am, you know something that I realize I need in my life.
