Left to come, and here's the man going for the 3P, the two-time world champion, Shoma Uno.
And this has not been a fantastic season for Shoma. He failed to win an international event
this season, has not won one, and hasn't looked as dominant as in previous seasons.
Any reason for that? He's been up there a long time. You know, it's hard to stay
great for a long period of time for any number of reasons, but he's still there and still fighting.
I think working with Stephane Lambiel has recharged his battery,
and he is the first man to ever land this jump, the quad flip. A good job today as well.
He's immediately, with that single jump, been able to win that tiny competition,
the quad flip, worth more than the sow or the toe. His biggest hurdle is coming up next,
his planned quad toe, triple toe. He often doubles out on that second toe.
He cannot afford that today. Quad toe, triple toe, committing to the rotation.
He knows the competition is tight.
The distance he covers from takeoff to landing of that triple axel is huge.
The required footwork sequence, looking for body movement, edges,
turns, rotating to the right, rotating to the left, and creativity.
Beautiful skate of the man looking for his third straight world title, Shoma Uno,
and that skate certainly has kept the dream alive for him.
We'll have his replays and marks after the break.
Well, Yuma Kajiyama has the lead right now, but that man, Shoma Uno, he had a skate and
a score possibly that could eclipse his Japanese teammate. What do you think?
That was one of his cleaner quad flips that he's done this season.
One of the reasons he hasn't been winning all of his competitions is his jumps have been getting
under rotation or questionable rotation calls. I don't see any of those today,
although he had that one tight landing there on the triple toe.
And he has a lot of momentum with the fact that he has been a world champion a couple times,
like there's just a lot of security in his skating. And so it's just it's hard to beat
the champion. You really got to knock him off his perch.
The one thing that he does is he kind of keeps his skating to himself, whereas Yuma and Ilya
were projecting out into the audience. So these guys are all great, all three of them. That's
leading this competition. You could throw a dart and they're all great.
Score to beat 106.35. Yeah, I was going to say, we're going to find out who's in first,
second and third right now. Oh, he's gone by about a point and a half. So heading in the free,
Shoma Uno, two time world champion, will have the lead and the advantage as.
