a week in hawaii vlog: *helicopter, secret caves, dolphins, and crazy raft rides*

Oh there are our little ones. Hello and welcome to the Hawaii vlog. We just came back from Fiji, traveled for almost like a whole day of traveling. It was so long and now we're in Kauai, Hawaii. We've been to some of the other islands before but we've never been here and it is so beautiful. Like immediately from when we got off, all of the views. It looks incredible. I cannot wait to adventure. We have a lot of fun things planned for this trip. A helicopter tour, a boat tour on the Nepali coast, different hikes, beach days, seeing sea turtles, like all of that. I think this week is about to be literally the most fun ever and the most beautiful, scenic thing that I've ever seen. So I'm so excited to bring you guys along. Also we're here with my older brother and his wife so it's just the most precious sibling trip. I'm so excited that we get to do this together and I am so excited to bring you guys along. This is me literally the whole time. Wow. I'm feeling really really thankful for the opportunity to get to do something like this. It's been 24 hours plus of traveling and four different flights and getting stuck in the ocean. If you watch the Fiji vlog you know. But it's like I can't even complain because those things it's just like, I don't know, it's part of the experience and I'm just feeling really grateful. So I wanted to say thank you for following along and getting to experience these things with me because it just feels unreal. I literally love you guys. I tried to run and catch the sunset because we couldn't see the sun from where we were so now I've made it and Josh is way ahead of me but you can see the sun peeking around this ridge and it's so beautiful. Let's see if we can see Josh. There he is just enjoying how beautiful it is. Our Foodland sushi is gonna hit hard. We were gonna go out to dinner and then we were just like nope. We're all really tired. I haven't had sushi with a fork I think ever. Feels like it ruins the experience a little bit. It does. It needs some chopsticks. Good morning. So we've woken up, went and got some breakfast at literally the cutest spot. It was Nourish Hanalei I think is how you say it but it was delicious. Josh and I split the like avocado toast bagel and the peanut butter acai bowl. Literally so yum. So now we're back at our Airbnb and we were going to go on a hike but the ocean like right outside of our place is so stunning and the weather is sunny so I think we want to catch some like UVs, start working on a tan, all of that stuff and maybe snorkel to find some things. So I'm going to put on a swimsuit now and get ready to go check out the water right in front of us. What are you chewing on? Gummy bears. And you didn't think to share some? You don't want gummy bears. Yes I do. Thank you. Me unpacking every trip. I don't know what I want my first day suit to be. That kind of screams Hawaii. The water looks clearer than the DG, I won't lie. Beautiful. Seeing a sea turtle and it was so big like I just feel so lucky. We just made it to what is it called? Sleeping giant? Sleeping giant. We made it to sleeping giant hike but we are coming here in the pouring rain so it might be pretty slick and I have my cute hokas on so I'm kind of thinking I might take these off and put tevas. Oh you have your cute solomons. Nope cute hokas. Oh speed goat four. Wait doesn't Josh have those? He is speed goat five. Oh so he's better than you. Well I got these. So he copied you. He did. I'm gonna throw my tevas on and wish for good luck going up this. Are you guys all starting a workout right now? Yes. Yeah oh I didn't know you guys were too. Oh ready? Okay hold on guys I gotta find hiking. We gotta see how many steps we're doing. Okay all right ready? Three two one. Go. Go. Josh is just saying this because he feels left out. He has his own sleeping suit. Okay maybe not there for him. There were notes that said if you can find a walking stick do it. Wait hold on. Wait it's actually so slick. I feel like if I walk all the rocks. No hold on to the stick. I am feeling a little silly for not having a hiking shoe but in my mind I don't know what was in my mind actually. The tevas are going strong right now. That is so gorgeous. It's really cool. The video looks like you're on the side of a cliff. It literally looks like a sheer drop off. Actually got me a walking stick. It's actually helping so much already. We made it to the top and it's really spooky. I think we need to get down to be safe. That was so beautiful. My ankles are killing me in these shoes. I'll leave this walking stick for our next passenger. I need to go find somewhere to rinse these feet. If my foot slides one more time I'm like actually gonna lose it. I quickly got ready for sunset because I just didn't want to miss any Hawaii moment. So we got home from the hike and eating dinner and I ran inside put a little dress on and we're watching the sunset now. Gorge. It was our first full day here and honestly just getting to spend time with my brother and his wife like we don't get to do that all the time because they live in North Carolina so it was just so fun spending all that time together and then our hike. I'm really happy. I'm going to bed happy so I'm gonna brush my teeth and do my skincare. I've just been sitting on the couch like going through some photos and everything but it's time for me to get cozy. Good morning. We just got to our breakfast spot and we're stopping at I think it's called Hanalei Bread Company so we're gonna get a little breakfast and coffee which is very necessary and then head back to our place because today is the day of the helicopter. Okay I ordered the vanilla oat milk latte but I got it half sweet. I've been doing that because I don't like when my coffee is too sweet and this is perfect. Yeah that is delicious and then I got the breakfast burrito. Oh I almost dumped it. When I was reading reviews of this everybody recommended the breakfast burrito or the breakfast sandwich so I decided to go for the burrito and it is massive. It looks so good but I do think I need some like hot sauce or some kind of like yummy little sauce. We had our breakfast. It was delicious and then we quickly got changed and we're on our way to our helicopter tour but it is very cloudy and raining so fingers are hyper crossed that we get a lot of sun because obviously if we're going up in the helicopter we want to be able to see the island and also there's no doors on it so if it's raining that might be interesting. We haven't seen any rainbows here but yeah it's been like kind of rainy the whole time because Hawaii is so rainy and I feel like I'm getting gypped a little bit so we said, actually Cassidy said that we're saving our rainbow for a helicopter ride which is fine by me. We're seeing some sun. A girl messaged me that they have a local shelter here that I wanted to look up. You can take the dog for a day right? You can take the dog for a day. I'm like should we have a dog companion? Probably. I want to eat one of these carrots. So she told us that the heavier the better and it's very tricky because this one's kind of light. So I picked the heaviest that I thought. Sugar cane juice. It's this. Yeah. Oh but it's in juice. Okay try it. Okay this one is medium. I want like a mix. That's so cool. My electrolytes. I almost want you to pour your sugar juice in here so I can have it mix. Well the helicopter was literally the coolest thing that I've ever done actually. It was so so beautiful. 100% worth it if you do come to Kauai. The like pilot? Yeah. The what? The pilot. He's born and raised like local to here and he was saying that 80% of the island is untouched so it's like you just can't see it unless you do something like that. So it felt like the most surreal experience. It was absolutely stunning. Then we stopped on the side of the road for a little coconut, a little refresher and Josh got sugar cane juice which he's finished already. It was actually delicious and now we're on Poipu. I need to look up how to say it but it's p-o-i-p-u beach. Apparently lots of sea turtles are around here and this is like a very popular spot so we're gonna have a little beach day because it's sunny over here so we're chasing the sun. Josh how are you doing back there? I stepped in a puddle. We've been sitting at what is this place called? Kalala. Kalala. We came to this overlook spot. I'll put the name on the screen because I don't know if I know how to pronounce it but it was so cloudy when we pulled up. You're supposed to be able to see like the whole ridges of the mountain and everything like that and it was like absolutely a white sheet which I don't know not great but we've been sitting up for a while. We were just gonna leave because I don't know it had no hope. The whole sky was gray. We were literally inside of a cloud and then as we were about to leave blue sky opened up. It's starting to get like golden and glowy over there so we are going to stay for sunset now because it looks like it's actually going to be really pretty. Good thing to note about Kauai that I've realized is that everything closes really early. When we were on our way here we ended up finding a place for lunch but it said it was closed on like apple maps and this was from the little fruit stand earlier. A chocolate chip banana bread. It has been saving me today. I've like eaten it a few times when I felt myself getting hangry and starting fights with Josh. I ate some of this bread but that's kind of the update and now I'm going to hopefully catch like a beautiful sunset out there and it will all be worth waiting here. Okay hold on I'm trying to. My legs aren't as long as yours. This always happens. Wait it looks so gorgeous. Is it yellow? Jackson you said this wouldn't happen. I shouldn't be a weatherman. So pretty. Even as we're sitting here it's just getting foggier and foggier so uh we may not be getting that cracked open sky that we were hoping for. You can't win them all. We still have a few minutes left though. Now the clouds are even covering that little spot. And the gorgeous view that we're getting. Right here. Nice. Gorgeous. We um may need to come back to this one. So good in the sun. Um queen's bath hike quite muddy. Definitely do what your owner is. This is a little bold to have something in both hands. Ow. Okay. Not too bad. Not too bad. The leaves are nice. They have good grip. I'm hoping it doesn't start pouring rain because this would be terrible. It's not that scary of a hike. Did I poop my pants? Yeah. Oh no. Yeah. It's crazy that we saw this in the house. feet. We accomplished. Capacity with a boot of mud. 10 out of 10 recommend. 10 out of 10 toes. 10 out of 10 toes are dirty. Yes. The prettiest place I've ever been. I'm so happy right now. So what did you just say? A rat. A rat. There's a rat in the water. A sea rat. A sea rat. Oh he's scared. His only crime was that he was too small to live. I don't think going deeper in the cave is gonna help him. Where does he want to go? I feel like he needs to maybe go over there. He's sad and scared. But we saved him. It's a rat. I don't want him to touch me though. Jackson's gonna go put him up in the shade because he wasn't moving a lot when we took him out but hopefully we saved him. He was very cute and I've never seen a rat swimming in the water. He didn't like it. It's so cute. I'm so scared. It's like it's dark. It's small. It's the earth. You're gonna turn into a mermaid. I could be a mermaid. Jack and Josh in the new hats. Wearing it out the store. I don't shop. I buy. Shut up. You buy like once a year. Oh my goodness. What's happening? What's happening? What's happening? Why did the chicken cross the road? Why did it? To get to the other side. Literally walking to dinner. I think we have to go out on the road, do a little walk, and then we'll be to dinner. It's amazing. I'm excited. I can't believe this place is right beside our Airbnb and it's so beautiful. Like we just, it took us one minute to walk here. That's our Airbnb. Josh, I'm splitting that with you. Ew, ew, ew. I've already stepped in it, Josh. It's done. Show me. Oh gosh. Look at the back of the dress. Oh god. At least I didn't get an oil stain all over myself with bug spray. I didn't do that. Yes, you did. Your clothes are stained. I'm really bothered because I don't like things like that when I step in a puddle. Oh, you don't? No, I hate it. I thought you would like things like that. No, I don't. Contrary to popular belief. Look at that. It's translucent. Oh my gosh. You're like Spider-Man. Why is it white? It's translucent. It's scared. Ew, wait a minute. It was like brown earlier. Why did it change colors? It's translucent. Is it a chameleon? No, it's a unicorn. He's a rhino. We are just saving animals today, left and right. Oh, he's so cute. Aw, let him free. I'm gonna put him outside. He's so cute. We made it to our boat place and it is raining on us. We've been driving through the pouring rain, so I'm really hoping that it's nice and we get some good views and get to see some dolphins and everything, but fingers crossed because I'm a little nervous. Yeah. up to do the catamaran one before and ended up like rescheduling for this one. So glad that we did that. It was so cool. We saw a whale, which is like the latest that you would see a whale. So many dolphins. Everything. It was just perfect. A baby dolphin. Oh, the baby dolphin doing the tricks. He twirled at least 10 times. It was so cute. Oh, everything was perfect and now we're gonna go get some food. I was gonna film a little update and then my room, the wind is blowing so much. We have these little like vents on the bottom because there's not a lot of AC in houses here, so there's no AC in this one and it just has like open to the air. You get to hear the ocean, which is really cool and we honestly haven't been hot this whole time, but I feel like this is the wind just blowing through my hair. There's a place that I've been really wanting to go called Sushi Girl and I haven't been there yet, so we're gonna go there for dinner and maybe just kind of walk around that area. I'm wearing this little yellow tank from Grey Bandit with these white linen pants. I had a follower actually DM me about the Kauai Humane Society where you can like do a field trip with one of the shelter dogs and then even like adopt them and Josh and I are not in the position to own a dog right now. We like travel a lot and we're gone, so just want to be like a responsible thing to do, but we love dogs and especially like ones in shelters and just have a heart for that, so I tried to call them to like set up where we could take a dog on a field trip tomorrow and fingers crossed that that is still available. We're gonna check out of our Airbnb early in the morning and then go down to like more of the main town area, see if we can do the field trip with the dog and like take him on a hike, him or her I guess, on a little hike and out for the day with us and do all that before we go to the airport. So I will keep you updated because that sounds super cool. Yeah it does. I know. Oh I really hope it works out. Spicy for you. Oh my gosh. The spiciest spicy. Well sorry. I have to admit that one is better. What do I do? Take some of the spicy off? Jackson and I were the only ones up this morning, so we decided to come and do our little coffee run. It's so gray on my face, but there's this place called The Haven that's very close to our Airbnb and we've passed it a bunch of times, but I wanted to come before we left. It is so yummy. I got their like brown sugar oat milk latte. So good. What's wrong? Why are you meowing so much? Maybe she just wanted a little friend. Oh look at those good boys. There's so many animals here. It's crazy. Looks like some brothers. A little play fight. I'm gonna go for a last little morning snorkel before we have to pack up out of our Airbnb. So Jackson and I are down here and I'm gonna hop in. Oh good boy. Well the snorkel was so amazing still, even with it being a little cloudier. And it's just been so cool, especially getting to do stuff like this with my brother. It's pretty awesome. Very awesome. We're locking up, but don't worry the vlog isn't over yet. We have a full day of activities. Look at how even-naked and cute looking he was. We had to order four more because the first four were really good. Why not? These are prettier. The animal shelter is open and we can go pick up a dog to do a little field trip day, so I'm so excited. Oh a towel, good. Water. And a little bowl. There's none in the Tampa St. Pete region. Sibling cats. Do you know where St. Cloud Florida is? I feel like that's the shortest flight. He's a good boy. He's very nervous to go up the little rocks with us, so we're seeing if he can maybe feel a little bit more comfortable and then still go out. Nice job buddy. Woo! I know, it's higher than it looks. Do you want me to go? I would not recommend doing that. That just made me panic. The current is very, very strong. I feel like, I consider myself a very strong swimmer and that made me like scared. It wasn't the jump. The jump was scary and long, but that swim back. I was really glad Jackson was in the water. Yeah, I wasn't gonna do it again and then she just jumped, so. I don't know. I don't know. He's excited. This is an extra small. Yeah. They had a small and this was even smaller. That's terrible. Okay, there's no way. When you're married, you get two suitcases.
