Oh yeah.
Bye.
Kampai!
Good luck figuring out Japan.
It's raining a bunch so we're hiding in a random cupboard.
I just told Nick, I just, can you send a photo to Nick?
I was just like, huh, I scoff at your tropical vacation and now it's pouring rain.
We've been sending people pictures and we're in the middle of a mountain.
Our bags are right there.
This just reminds me of home.
You're not recording.
I am.
I'm trying to find the best angle.
The incline on these videos do not do it justice.
It is a 50 degree angle.
We're going up.
Again, videos don't do this justice.
40 degree incline.
Incline training, let's go.
Oh my goodness.
Our route is closed.
I guess there's a landslide so now we're on the road, kicking our ankles on the path.
I'm just doing a little story time.
Waterfalls are interesting, oh god, because there's two waterfalls and then when the nobles
were walking along this route, a woman and a man on their way to get married, they were
getting a little excited, sitting in their carriage the whole time, and they were too
excited so they had to cool down so they would go to separate waterfalls and take a shower
in the waterfall to cool down.
It's the Odachi waterfalls that we're going to.
So the man or the woman would go there, take a shower, and then the other one would go
there and take a shower to cool down so they aren't so excited.
He's watching me fall.
It's so high!
It was super slippery going down this slope.
It was all cobblestone and all the mud was like...
I'm okay.
Are you dancing?
Yeah.
Okay.
Is there honey in that sweet?
It's 6.30.
Good day's bar.
If you switch around it's C-D-G.
So, Claire...
It's not C-D-B.
C-D-G!
Good day!
You said bar.
Sorry.
It's C-D-G.
So, moral of the story.
C-D-G needs a good day coffee.
Oh my gosh.
Bar.
So we just went to a cafe.
I embarrassed Ian for like the 10th time this trip.
Ian, what did I do?
What did you do?
I put...
The shop owner was motioning me to put the ice, the burnables, but I put it all in the recycling.
It's ice and peach.
It was an ice and plastic drink.
No, there was peach in the bottom.
Peach in the bottom.
But I put it in the plastic.
And I dropped a little plate.
So this town right here is Sumagu, which is where we just spent the night.
We are in the castle ruins of Sumagu.
There's no ruins, but it's a clear spot on top of the mountain.
And we just went up this windy path that was used for defense of the castle.
So as intruders were trying to walk up the path, other people would be throwing stones.
It was an intense hike, but we did it.
So this over here is the major road that goes through the town.
So you can take a bus from here on to the next post town.
So a lot of the people that we saw in the town were actually just coming through, stopping the bus, and then leaving.
But we walked, I would assume from that point up there, and then down over through the town through here,
stayed about here, and then we came up.
So from the other side of that viewpoint, you have this town.
So this is Negiso.
There's like a small hamlet town right here.
It's not called hamlet, it's like the type of town.
So we have to pass through here, and then we are catching our train somewhere around here.
I'll take that train to get to Kyoto.
How do you feel about walking down to this point?
Good?
It's a lot of downhill.
Downhill's my enemy.
Uphill's good.
Downhill's bad.
About Ian slipping, we got a fence here.
We got a fence, it's up to our ankles.
But it'll do.
You have to ring the bell.
The train schedule has changed.
So now we're power walking to the station through this gorgeous scenery.
We gotta power walk and take videos and pictures at the same time.
Fighting.
We are on the road.
