What do you want me to say to you?
I'm living in this hospital accommodation.
And I'm calling to you.
I'm in the toilet. I'm not hiding.
We're in London!
So, I just got out from work.
I'm a little bit tired.
Currently, I'm on general surgery.
Today, I had a normal day shift, which is an 8-hour shift.
Starts at 8.30 and finishes at 4.30.
Don't worry, you can come in.
I want you to enjoy yourself.
Thank you.
Yeah, it feels helpful.
Thank you.
You know what's the craziest thing?
I am living in this hospital accommodation.
And I'm staying with consultants.
So, my senior doctors that I work under.
Basically, I wish I had my own place.
Rather than staying in a hospital accommodation with people I work with.
Especially my seniors.
Because, you know, they are the people who sign me off from work.
My competencies and my training stuff.
By the way, the reason why I can't get my own place is because
the town I got placed in is very rural.
So, there's not many houses available.
Also, this consultant I share my kitchen with is super nice and supportive.
And here was his little speech about how we should follow our passions.
So, you can create content.
And your contents are creative.
Yeah.
Get the right attention.
Yeah.
People will change so much.
So, I'm encouraging you.
I want to encourage you.
This is a good passion you can follow.
If you're able to develop it, you'll learn a few things out of it.
It's fantastic.
It's actually been five months since I graduated and started my first real adult job as a doctor.
Even though I only posted my first day as a doctor vlog a couple weeks ago.
Because I couldn't post that in real time.
The transition from being a student to doctoring has been a big and very busy change.
Now, I feel like I'm settled in.
I've got a set routine.
And thanks to that, I feel like I have more time for the things I love.
Like creating content, making time for family and friends and sleeping.
It's busy.
Oh, is it?
Um, what's my name?
I'm Richard Taz Taylor.
Solo rock climber.
That's my YouTube video.
Oh, is it?
So, if you find that.
I'll subscribe for sure.
Yeah, subscribe to that.
If you want to rap, Tom.
Then I'll see what you're up to.
Then I got to know this lovely person.
He's an actor and has even walked the red carpet at the Cannes Festival.
He then kindly offered his battery pack to charge my electric eyelash curler on the train.
First world problems, right?
Okay, we're on our way to the Apple Intelligence Showcase in London.
So, I took holiday days off or annual leave from my usual doctoring job.
And I'm in London, which I'm really excited about.
And I'm going to see a couple of friends as well.
I want to tell you about this app I have in all my devices since I've been traveling loads.
As you might know, when I got placed in a rural town for my first job, I wasn't thrilled at first.
I felt isolated and far from my support network.
And it made it harder to get to London for these kind of work events.
But that's life.
So, I promised myself I'd make the most of this year still and travel as much as possible.
And NordVPN helps me stay connected to home whilst traveling.
I can stream my favorite show, Friends, wherever I am in the world.
When I was in the US, I couldn't watch it because it wasn't on American Netflix.
Thanks to NordVPN, one click and I'm back on UK Netflix.
I also used it when I was in Japan for medical school trying to study for my prescribing exam.
I couldn't access the British prescribing assessment site because it was only available in the UK.
If you also want to connect to any country from the comfort of your home,
go to nordvpn.com to get a two-year plan plus four additional months with a huge discount.
And a 30-day money-back guarantee.
Now, I'm just gonna film a little bit of me eating.
That's okay.
Perks of being with another creator is that you don't feel like
you're being rude when you're filming or you don't get embarrassed.
I thought I have to say those experiences.
I started filming.
I'm here in London in my sister's freezing, freezing bedroom.
I need to actually get out, go to the event that I've been invited to.
But I can't get out of this bed and like put my makeup on because
otherwise I'm gonna freeze on the way there.
I understand where they're coming from.
Like when I was a student, it was the same.
I am freezing because I live in a student house with other medics.
And with the current gas prices, the heating is very expensive.
We've decided not to turn on the heating until December.
I've been there.
I don't miss it though.
Not the freezing part.
I miss being a student.
By the way, my sister is a second year medical student.
And the other two girls she's staying here with also are medics.
What time is it now?
3.37.
I gotta get up.
Yeah, I'm gonna actually have to wear this.
This is a blanket I let my sister borrow from my student days.
Yeah, I was using this when I was a student and freezing in my student house.
And now I passed it down to Farideh.
What time is it now?
2.52.
Do I get to network?
What?
Do I get to get there early and do your networking?
Yeah, I wanted to but I won't be able to do my networking.
Did you think I said twerking or something?
Your mind is somewhere else.
Yeah, we're in London.
And I miss this so much.
I'm a city girl.
What can I say?
I don't know what to expect to be honest.
Because I don't really get invited to these kind of events.
Even if I do get invited, I can't really go because I'm not based in London.
It'll be good to see other creators.
And also I'm actually interested in what they're going to present.
I'm in the toilet.
I'm not hiding.
Yeah, I'm gonna go out.
I was just putting on my contacts.
If you give them a podcast, they'll create a hoodie.
There is a hoodie printer here.
And then if you give them a podcast cover, they print it for you with that brand's cover on it.
And then obviously, I don't have a podcast.
So I just chose a random funny face.
I'm actually carrying this hoodie on the street.
Okay, the event is finished and it's freezing.
But my social battery is kind of going down a little bit.
But now I'm meeting a friend for whom I don't need much social battery because we're good friends.
So I'm excited for that.
And London is so pretty with all the Christmas lights.
Good morning.
My sister is out for a 9am start at her hospital placement.
I'm here alone.
And I'm supposed to upload a video on YouTube tomorrow.
So I gotta reply to my editor and give some feedback.
Let's get to work now.
How much are you guys paying for this?
2,800 pounds for this flat.
Oh my god, wait, how much each person?
900 pounds per person for this.
And this is zone one, central London.
These are the crochet stuff my sister does herself.
Isn't it crazy?
This, this, this.
This is her charger, guys.
Look what she's done to her charger.
Crochet charger.
Because it's so freaky, isn't it?
She made this too.
Isn't that crazy?
She's so talented.
How many people are staying here?
Three, including me.
Three medical students are staying here.
Can we see a tour of your, the rest of the house?
Not in this condition.
Yes, in this condition.
It's more authentic.
This is the bathroom.
We're exposing our living condition.
I know.
And then you go down.
This is like a living room situation.
We don't always have all the trash though.
It's even smelling a little bit, I'm not gonna lie.
But it's fine.
Here is the end of the week of love.
This is the end of the week.
So this weekend, everyone's gonna do their chores
and it's gonna be nice again.
Yeah, yeah, I can see that.
This is how students in London live.
Like, I thought it was a good insight.
