Week in my Life as an Airline Pilot
Jan 9, 2025
What is up guys! Welcome back. I hope that you all are doing well. In this video I'm going to be
taking you guys along with me through a week in my life working as an airline pilot. I start work
tomorrow again and I have two two-day trips back to back. So I'm off today which is nice. I'm just
going to do a little bit of relaxing and preparation for the work week. Head out to the gym now and get
a workout in and then I'm going to come home and do everything else. But yeah, I'm really excited
to film this video and I hope that you guys enjoy it.
Okay, I just finished my workout. It was a great one. I'm going to stop by Trader Joe's really
quick, pick up some food for dinner tonight and for work tomorrow and then head home and
make some lunch. I just got out of the shower. I have a load of laundry that I'm washing
before work right now and I'm about to do a hair mask. Hey guys, this is Sarah's page.
Everybody should subscribe. Amelia Earhart 2.0.
No, this one looks better. Let me come from this. Wait, stop moving!
But now I know how directors feel.
I just got Pop-Tart, my essentials and that too. Hey guys, so I'm just checking back in. We flew to San
Antonio and now I'm back in LA. We have a two and a half hour sit. It's kind of like a little break
before we have our next flight and our next flight is to San Jose and then I'm done for today. It was
fun shooting an approach into Los Angeles. It's raining pretty hard right now so my hair got kind
of frizzy but yeah, I'm just in the crew lounge and I'm working on my bid which is my schedule
for next month and I'm doing that because it closes tomorrow morning. I always wait until
the last minute to bid so I'm just working on that right now. I also got a new tie recently so
I'm trying this one out. I think I like it a lot better than the traditional men's tie. This one
is a little bit more girly. I'm really liking the way that this looks and I wish that I had gotten this
sooner but yeah, I definitely feel a lot more girly wearing this. Hi! Hello! Made it to San Jose. Here in
the hotel now. So tired. Gonna eat my meal prep. Barbecue chicken with rice and broccoli. Got this
little mini travel size of Tabasco. Gonna eat this and get ready for bed. I'll see you guys in the morning.
Good morning everyone. It's 5.35 in the morning. I woke up at 5am and I'm just getting ready now for
the day. We have another pretty long day today. Some pretty long flights. The first one is not
that bad. We're just flying back to Los Angeles. I'm going to be pilot flying. From there we're
going to Vancouver, Canada and then back home to LA and then I'm finished with the trip. The weather
in LA is pretty bad right now. It's low IFR. The visibility is pretty bad. Half statute mile
and the clouds are broken at 200 feet and overcast at 400 with low vis and fog. Definitely shooting
an approach into LA this morning. I think it's supposed to get a little bit better. The forecast
for 7am is broken at 800 and overcast at 1500 with a visibility of 5 miles so hopefully it'll
be a little bit better by the time we arrive. I finish around 5pm today and then I'm done with the trip.
Just made it to Canada and the weather is totally different from LA. We have a quick turn here
and we're just flying right back home.
Hello everyone! I just made it back home. I am exhausted. I've been up since 5 o'clock in the
morning and I had a full day of flying. It's the evening now and I'm just really happy to be back
in my apartment. Today was pretty eventful. Coming back into Los Angeles, I'll insert a
photo of the ATIS at that time right here. You can see that the clouds are overcast at 200 feet with
a mile of visibility, light rain, and mist. Basically when you shoot an approach you need
to have the runway in sight by a certain altitude and typically on ILS approaches that altitude is
200 feet above the ground and that's pretty much where the overcast layer was sitting. It was right
at 200 feet. This was my first ever approach all the way down to minimum and we broke out just in
time. I was pilot flying and it was a really cool experience. After that we flew to Vancouver
and then back to Los Angeles. Both flights were about two and a half hours long so it was just
kind of a long day. I am happy to be back home. I'm just gonna chill for the rest of the night
and then I'm back to work again tomorrow and I'm starting another two day. Good morning! Woke up a
bit ago, had some coffee, have work later on tonight so my report time is 9 50 p.m. So I actually
pretty much have the whole entire day to just catch up on a lot of things. I'm gonna meal prep, clean
my apartment a little bit, and go get my nails done as well as go to the gym and then tonight
I'm gonna be flying into San Diego. It's just one easy quick flight and then spend the night there.
The struggles I've noticed while being on the road constantly is just finding time to do the little
housekeeping chores and this weekend I'm going to be going to Temecula to go wine tasting which
I'm really excited about but yeah I'm definitely going to take advantage of today and try to get
a lot of things done. First order of business we are going to do laundry.
Now I'm going to put away the dishes and then wash some new ones.
It's still a pretty gloomy day here out in Los Angeles. At least it's not raining so I'm not gonna complain.
I am back from getting my nails done. I got my toes done for this weekend and then I also
cleaned up around my apartment a little bit. Now I'm about to go to the gym and get a workout in.
I like to like reach over to you and like shush shush shush.
Are you going under me?
Hey guys so I made it to San Diego. It is midnight and I just got to my hotel room.
Figured that I would show you a little room tour. We have two beds here and then
this is the bathroom. So I'm just gonna put my stuff away. I also wanted to show you guys the view
of downtown San Diego. It's so beautiful. I always love this layover because the location is great
and we're right downtown and next to Little Italy. So I'm definitely gonna go walk around
in the morning. For now I'm gonna get ready for bed and go to sleep.
Good morning. It is nine o'clock in the morning and I woke up at 8 30. I got changed and now I'm
about to go walk outside and explore downtown a little bit. There's also a coffee shop nearby
that I want to check out so I'm probably gonna walk over to that and get a latte or something.
I'm gonna come back here and do a little workout in the hotel gym. This hotel gym actually has a
lot of machines which is nice and it's something that I've really come to appreciate since staying
in a bunch of different hotels. So I'm gonna take advantage of that and our van time isn't until 2
p.m today so I pretty much have all morning and early afternoon in San Diego so I'm definitely
gonna make the best of it and go explore a little.
I was debating on bringing my jacket with me but I'm really glad I did because it's pretty chilly
outside. Regardless though, it's a beautiful morning in San Diego.
We have four flights today. The last leg is a deadhead from San Francisco back to Los Angeles
so a deadhead is basically where we are passengers on the plane and we're being flown by another crew
so technically we're only flying three legs today. Our first flight is to San Jose. We're coming back
to San Diego and then over to San Francisco so we got some nice California flying going on.
It's also go home day so I'm excited to be finishing the trip.
still. I don't know how. I thought I was going to be really tired when I finished my trip but
our last flight was really relaxing and chill. I was just a passenger on the flight home from
San Francisco to LA so maybe that's why I just got to rest a little bit but I'm back in my car
and I am all done with this trip. I'm just gonna head home and go to sleep and I will talk to you
guys in the morning.
Hello. We're going wine tasting. Yeah.
Can I flex that?
It looks so good. Is it hot? It's just meat. Oh yummy.
Happy birthday Crystal.
