BIG Plays, BIG Moments, and a Road Victory | Monaco – Barcelona | BASKETBALL HIGHLIGHTS R20 2024-25

Foul not called on the shot, so a tough break for Monaco. Here's Juan Nunez, 20 years of age, the bounce pass likes the fuse. Hunter fakes the pass, takes it right at Papa Yanis. Knocked away to spark the transition opportunities. Strazell, the young guards drifting and training as he floats off the floor and puts the ball in the bucket. Crossover, baseline, Papa Yanis blocks off the route to the rack. Dometu and in transition, the flying freight train. Papa Yanis down the Riviera track and to the rack. To the elbow, looking back out, options blocked off on the perimeter, but the perfect find to Dometu on the interior and he's got seven points. Nunez back in on two fouls. Guarded tenaciously by Lloyd. Turnaround, triple is good for Dario Griswele. Onto the sails of Monaco, the league leaders here on the Riviera. It's Barca cruising, but Ponta's not helping. 14 the lead again, ties the largest of the game, two minutes of the first half to play, 45 points for Barca. James, three-point shot. Two of two from two, one of one from three. Well handled and well finished. Tough shot over the top of Barca's tallest ever player. Two meters, 23, Lucifer foul. Strazell into Jaite, couldn't believe how free he was, just turned and finished. Strazell, to Strazell, the final five, Strazell for three, got it. James has eight assists now, swings at the pass, but a turnover, Juan Nunez picks it off. Second turnover for James, a quick attack as well. Ponta from distance over Papayan is short. Not a great shot, one that Ponta's capable of making because he is Kevin Ponta. It's at 15, the score's late to update, that is the largest lead. Ponta, deep three, the surely not shot for Kevin Ponta, who is indeed threatening to steal the spotlight. And Mike James answers in that battle of the superstar. It's been quiet tonight, Vito Brown, 0-4 on the outside. James trying to get contact from Satoranski. Barca will want long possessions here. Rizuela slipping, not happy, ends up free on the outside though and continues to do his thing. Getting the best possible response to back-to-back domestic defeats that left his team and indeed his club in crisis. A true Barca backlash as they beat the league leaders by 14, pouring in 98 points behind the career-high 27. We played amazing today and I love my teammates, man. We are on a hard moment right now because we are losing a lot of games on the last minutes and with bad luck, so this win is huge for us and I love being in this team, man.
