Everything's intense. It's amazing. So good. It is really really good.
Oh yeah. I'm ready. My stomach is ready. Don't know. Everyone already super nice. The
smells here incredible. How hungry are you on a scale one to ten? Eleven. Eleven and a half actually.
Steaks here are amazing. Look at that. Honestly I kind of wish I lived near here. I would shop
here every single day. We'd be eating here every single day. Imagine coming to a place like this
on your lunch break. There's so many options. You're never really going to get bored of anything.
I found the pastries and the breads. But I think we want to go for some actual food food. I see
something. You see it on the right? That's got to be the first thing you eat in Florence.
So downstairs there are only a few places to eat and we cannot find one that's actually open.
So we're gonna just head upstairs straight to the food court and see what we can find.
This looks much more promising and smells much better. Anything on a stick. I love when they
have the steak on the stick. If you're hungry like we are, then just head straight upstairs
to go eat because we got off of a three and a half hour train ride here this morning and we
were starving. We're upstairs. We're gonna see how much food we can eat here and then we can go
explore the downstairs and explore the market and see what they have. I think it's pretty acceptable
to have some wine before you eat anything today. So starting off strong with a glass of Chianti.
Well you got to remember here in Italy people drink wine all day every day. So it doesn't
there's no good time or bad time. There's just only time for wine. It's my favorite time.
We just started off and the two things that we're going to go with right now are the Spiadini
Mischi, which are like shish kebabs, pork shish kebabs. The other thing is Tuscan pork shish
kebabs. The Tuscan sausages. These smell amazing and they're really hot. Very smoked. Oh my god.
So in Tuscany I noticed in general in Italy they do not go light on the meat and the portion sizes
here are very generous. So it's a good thing we came hungry. Yeah. We actually have been waiting
about 10 minutes for these because it's actually very very fresh. The food has to be cooked right.
It's not like sitting out or anything like that, which is great. That's one of the things I love
about the food here. Oh my gosh. Good right? The pork is so juicy. It's probably been drinking the
wine. I don't know what the the point of the vegetables are for. Maybe just to give it some
color or something. It's a garnish. Yeah we could easily replace this with more of this pork here.
It's so good. I'm sorry to say this but I think Tuscany has the best wine. Other Italians are
going to come for me. People from our own region are going to come for us. But that seems to be
universally agreed upon in Italy is that the wine in Tuscany is the best. Other regions have different
kinds of wine that are good, but here you're just never going to find that wine. So the sausage bit
pack. They're very passionate about the meat as you can hear. So is this the Tuscan sausage? I don't
know if it's smoked sausage, but it's the sausage is smoking. I chose a bad day to wear wings.
So the sausage is very good. It's got a lot of layers, a lot of herbs inside. But honestly this
would have been better if we had some sauce. Like something to dip in because it's very like
very hearty. True. I don't think they really do a lot of sauces here. We'll have to see if we can
find something and show you if they do. But most of the time they just let the food speak for itself.
So the goal in this market is to see how much Florence food, how much Tuscan food we can
possibly stomach today. Well I'm pretty hungry so that's a challenge I'm willing to take. I mean so
far we got the shish kebabs, the sausage, and the wine. It's amazing.
Still hungry, but we're gonna go downstairs and see what else we can find.
So the downstairs closes at one and the upstairs is open till midnight. So if you're hungry at
11 p.m here, don't worry you can just come here to the food market and get some food.
So many cheese options, oh my god. So I don't think I've seen so many biscotti in my life.
And they have the Vinsanto. So for those that don't know, you take the biscotti, little dried
up cookies, and then you take this wine and you dip it. And it is the best thing ever. I don't
think a lot of people talk about it. You can take some home. This is the best combination ever. Like
if you ever get a chance to come to Florence, it is amazing. As we were walking around, we randomly
found this pasta place. Fresh meat, it's a fresh meat pasta. And there's a line, so you know you
know I have to wait in line to see if it's actually worth the hype. And I'll let you know,
it's good. Cool, so we just got our ticket here. Yeah, you have to wait in a really long line,
it's like 10 or 15 minutes long. But we'll hope it's worth it because the pasta is fresh.
We got the tagliatelle pasta with wild boar. Very Tuscan, that sounds very Tuscan. No it is,
it is. We're just waiting to try it. Was that worth the wait? Smells amazing. So I mean that's
a pretty good portion size for 6 euro. That's huge. It's extremely hot. When they said fresh
pasta, they weren't joking. I don't know what's more intense, you have the cheese or the boar,
the wild boar. Even the cheese is intense. Everything's intense, it's amazing. All right,
I'll see you later. Hey, hey, hey. First impressions, Italians are very, very, very generous
with their portion sizes. Honestly, this at a restaurant, especially in Florence here,
this would have probably cost easily like at least 15 euro. They're charging you only six
with the meat and the cheese. Honestly, you know what I'm more impressed with? The boar,
it's so fresh. So it's safe to say we really like the pasta. Worth the wait? It's worth the wait
once. I'm not going back in line for another serving, but it was really good, really good.
We are on to place three and it's another glass of wine. I went for a white Vermentino Toscano.
What do you have? I have Chianti Classico. The one that I wanted they didn't have, but it's okay. I
mean to me it's all good either way. But what do we have? What is the star of this? So we have the
special, the porchetta sandwich, which is like, looks like a roast in pork. It's literally like
next to the camera right now, but we have it in sandwich form here. The guy who was sitting here
before us told us that it was really, really good. So we had to go with that. Oh wow. There's so much
flavor, spice, and just smokiness. It's also very dry. So definitely get some wine with this.
I love the fact that it's on top of the focaccia bread. It's just because the bread is a little
salty. So it just adds so much more flavor to the sandwich. It's also very herby as well.
There's a ton of herbs inside this thing. I think the best part of the porchetta is when they give
you pieces of the skin. Just like an explosion of flavor. I'm not even exaggerating. I know we're in
Florence and I know sandwiches are kind of a thing here, but I'm just gonna put it out there that this
is going to be a hard sandwich to top. Yeah, there's a lot of really famous sandwich places in
Florence. Some that are like really old as well. Obviously it's going to be impossible for us to
try all of the food there. We're going to try. We're going to try, exactly. But this place at the market so
far we're starting off strong. So this is going to be really really tough to beat. We're also going
on tomorrow, so stay tuned for that video. We're going to be trying the best sandwich in Florence,
which the line, the wait is ridiculous. We're going to see if it's if it's good or if it's overhyped.
The downstairs has a bunch of like little restaurants hidden around, so definitely take
your time walking around. But mainly it's just like produce and you can get a lot of really cool
souvenirs. But if you're really hungry, like we said earlier, just go upstairs. We're here on the
Saturday, so the downstairs doesn't close till five today. But we're trying to find something else
that's authentic and delicious. I'm skeptical of the seafood, not because I think it's going to be
bad for me, but it's I'm not a huge fan. But we're not really near the ocean. We're like
we're not that close, like Venice. Let's see what we can find. If we can't find anything, we'll just switch to
desserts. So they even have a cooking class you can do out here on the second floor, which is
pretty cool. After a full day of eating, I mean you'll have the fresh, the best ingredients, right?
Yeah, they're pretty much all about 80 or 120 euro. Like 90% of them are about 80 euro.
So we found something that I guess it's a bit unique to Tuscany, which is pumpkin soup
with truffle. But let's see if it tastes good.
There's pepper in here, it's very strong. But this is literally like straight up pumpkin,
just pureed and cooked with some spices. It's very good. Let's see how it tastes with the truffle.
Nice, nice, nice truffle bite. Everyone is obsessed with truffle and honestly for me,
especially when it's fresh like that, it just adds a little bit more like earthiness to something.
But it's not like a spectacular taste. I don't know, comment down below, like do you prefer truffle?
Do you taste something like that's extra extraordinary? This is good, but that porchetta
sandwich is so much better. Honestly, cheaper and better. And the reason why I think, I think this is
a little too healthy. I'm sure we can balance it out. I did the whole fridge burn in the house.
What do you think? I mean, we've got the best wine I've ever had.
Last thing here at the market is we're going to get the cantucci, which are just cookies or
biscotti. And the Vinsanta, which is a sort of a sweet wine that you dip the cookies into.
And then you just eat them like that. It's a really popular Tuscan dessert. And we just got
from a little stall here. So we're going to try it right now. We just kind of soak it in there for a
second or two. It's also a very strong alcohol. Like when you smell it, it just like hits you.
It's definitely like an herbal liqueur, like a like a Jaeger kind of alcohol. You're not really
going to find this at most of the stalls. In fact, upstairs in the food court, we couldn't find it at
all. So you have to really be careful and look. But if you do find it, it's totally worth it.
Because like I said, this is really, really native to Tuscany. And a lot of the really nice
steakhouses around this area, you're going to find this in the dessert section
after your meal. So it's really, really good. That sure does look good.
It's been a while since I've had this. So good.
So we spent the whole afternoon eating. And I think we're going to spend the second day
exploring the city. See what we can find and burning off all the calories we've eaten.
Hopefully you enjoyed the little tour of the market and stay tuned for the next video of
Florence. You don't want to miss it. Ciao. This is like the most touristy shot ever.
