Starting our day with a spectacular view.
Me and dad wanted to wake up for sunrise this morning, but we didn't quite make it.
We talked to a lady in town yesterday who recommended a spot to watch sunrise,
right past Gibson Steps. You have to take a left, go on a small hike, and you got this
crazy awesome view. Would have been better when the light was a little less harsh, but
the sun feels so good. So we came back to the 12 Apostles viewpoint real quick just to see
what that looks like when the sun's actually out. Thank you. Welcome, have a lovely day.
It's a lot of work backing up for just one night.
What an amazing way to start our day. We're here at London Bridge. So I know this video is about
Grampians National Park. We're actually starting it here at the end of the Great Ocean Road.
London Bridge, look at that. So beautiful.
We have amazing weather today, which is really nice because over the last few days it's been
very cloudy and windy. We have all of this insane sunshine. It feels so good. We've been like
basking in it all morning. But yeah, like Tommy said, we are road tripping up to Grampians National
Park. We're going to do the tail end of the Great Ocean Road this morning before we head north.
Let's get the day started. It's also a little bittersweet too because sadly it's our last
video in Australia. It's really hard to leave places like this. All the people have been so
welcoming and friendly. Hey, save it for the end of the video. Okay, or later. Wow.
These views are not going to hold you there. The sun makes all the difference bringing out the
colors. I know. I feel like we're getting to experience it for almost like for the first time
today. I mean, just because the sun makes different colors and yesterday was more like
moody and this is like so bright and you can see all the different oranges.
So we're just sitting here enjoying the view and it was so cool. This older couple came up to us
and told us how they walked across this London Bridge rock before it all crumpled down. In the
80s with their two daughters and their daughters were jumping on it and they were thinking like,
oh wouldn't this be crazy if we made this fall down? And then about three months later it actually
fell and there was two couples trapped on the end of the rock. A couple. It was a married couple who
were not married to each other. One couple who were both married who are not married to each
other. There it is. What a way to be outed. Geez, no kidding. And they had to be helicoptered. Yeah,
the helicopter to come pick them up is all in the news everywhere. Anyway, they came to take
a photo to show their daughters. That's so sweet. So sweet, so fun. Thank you for the story. Nice
to see you. Nice to see you. Enjoy your day. So we just made it to the next viewpoint. It's called
the Grotto. More of these great ocean views. Really cool, isn't it? Yeah, the colors through
here are so cool. It's like it's a green and blue and then orange. All right, well pick me up here.
Yeah, it's not a bad place to have a coffee. Awesome view. I know. What are you eating there?
Leftover pizza. Cold pizza out of the trunk. Cheers. See more wildlife.
So we just drove an hour and now we're at Tower Hill. Pretty amazing. We're getting
greeted by emus and Sammy just said there's a koala that's eating and active. This is awesome.
I can't believe this. There's like, what, six koalas in the area? This one is super close.
Right there hanging by the tree. The emus are everywhere. I had to actually run to my bag and
grab it because they're kind of searching in it. So curious. Yeah, this place is like a haven for
Australian wildlife. And we're like in the parking lot still, so awesome.
So these emus are way too comfortable around people. I've seen them try to steal
like 10 people's lunch already and you can get right next to them. Look at this guy.
Sounds like we have a koala growling.
This place is so cool. We saw a mama and her baby. So cute. There's so many koalas
like right here in this parking lot area. We haven't even started to hike yet.
Oh, oh, a koala on the ground.
How cool is that, Tommy? Amazing. We just saw him running. I know. I was just talking
about the baby in the tree and your mom was like, he's on the ground. He's on the go.
They have so many hikes here. It's hard to even leave the parking lot though. I could spend
hours here. So many different animals. So there's four different tracks. They're all kind of listed
here. We decided we're going to do the Lava Tongue Boardwalk because we want to see some echidnas.
Tommy saw one yesterday, but I haven't seen one yet. So something else that's really cool about
this place is this whole reserve is on an extinct volcano from 30,000 years ago. Did you know that?
The extinct volcano crater. I just had to quit Google. Look out for shingleback lizards. Oh,
okay then.
I wanted to see the echidna and I was walking so slowly and I thought I heard rustling,
but I couldn't find anything. So I kept walking and then I heard more rustling and I was like,
let me just wait here for a second. And then the little echidna just
popped his head out and then he's just been rustling over there. So I saw the echidna.
I saw echidna, echidna, echidna. I don't know. But then this Australia,
Australian couple was walking by and he's like, oh, they're all over the place,
all over the sides of the road. Oh, look at my accent. That was pretty good.
Shamer in the comments, people. I was like, oh, it's my first one.
Wow. Final thoughts? Just such a fun place. Well, I could spend all day here, but we did.
Sammy just had to drag me back. Everybody's waiting in the car. Incredible place. If you
want to see Australian wildlife, we spent way, way too much time here. It's a two hour drive
to Grampians National Park. So. Time to go. The funniest thing your dad said, he was like,
I can't believe Tommy's neck doesn't hurt after all because this is Tommy.
It's pretty sore. So we just left the parking lot and now we're on a safari drive. The first thing
we see is this huge pond with black swans. We've never seen black swans before. So that's another
So we're officially in the Grampians National Park. Welcome to our little cabin. It's a two
bedroom, one bathroom, one kitchen. I haven't had that big of a look around yet. I was like,
do we have a kitchen? It was 60 USD a night per couple. And we're here for two nights. We're
really excited for tomorrow. We have lots of hikes planned. Be in nature again. Welcome to
Grampians National Park. Exploring new places is always exciting, but whenever you first touch
down in a new country, it can kind of feel like you're in a whole new world. And that's where
fast and reliable internet comes in handy. We love our tried and true OlaFly eSIM. It makes
traveling so much easier for us. And we're super excited to be partnering with them on today's
video and sharing them with you guys. OlaFly is an eSIM that lets you instantly connect to data
without ever having to purchase that physical SIM card. We set everything up on the app before we
even land. And then as soon as we touch down, we're ready to go with unlimited data. Plus,
it's been a game changer for exploring. We're easily able to find spaces to eat. We can check
out places that we hadn't already planned for. And best of all, we can easily navigate the area.
We've used OlaFly in over eight countries and it is hands down one of the best travel tools that
we rely on. So if you're interested in fast and reliable data, definitely check out OlaFly. We're
going to leave a link in the description box below. And you guys can use our code SAMIANDTOMMY
for 5% off your eSIM. Also, thanks again to OlaFly for sponsoring this video and continuing
to support our channel. So we just checked in quickly and we're going to walk into town. I
don't think it's a town, but there's a bar. We're going to get some food out. Are we going to the bar?
That's a bar. So many kangaroos hanging out.
It's kind of funny now in the beginning of this trip, it was so hard for us to find any kangaroos.
And now we just run into them all the time. We're almost getting used to them and not stopping every
time we take photos and videos, but not quite there yet. Hello. We have no food yet.
All right. Look at our number, 91.
Amazing day. We ordered four lamb shake sandwiches in a couple of years and it was $150 Australian dollars.
It's been a long day and we're all ready to eat. It's really good.
No, but actually tell if the onion is good. Yummy.
At the end of another great day in Australia, we have a really
fun-filled day planned tomorrow here in Grand Prix National Park. So we'll see you guys in the morning.
Good morning, you guys. We're starting off today with a hike to Pinnacle Peak.
Good morning, you guys. So yeah, like Tommy said, we just started our hike to the Pinnacle Lookout.
It is 30 minutes each way. So 4.2 kilometers return trip. There's a few different ones that
you can do, but we decided to do one of the easier tracks just because we have a lot of things planned
for today. This morning was so fun waking up to all of the bird sounds. It was so wild.
We actually heard them all night, right? The scary clown was laughing at us all night.
Almost. The kookaburra. Literally, I was like having nightmares about like a clown chasing
maybe. It was laughing in our ears all night long. It was crazy. Tommy was out of bed bright and early
to go capture birds this morning. I'm such a bird nerd now. He is. I'll throw in some of my
favorite shots now or spread them out through our hike here. But yeah, so we're heading to the
Pinnacle Lookout now. It's a beautiful morning. The sun is shining. I probably have too many layers
on right now, but nothing like a good hike to start the day. It's such different landscapes
than what we're used to. It's so rocky and dry compared to we just left the rainforest.
Look how pretty this is.
Pretty cool, huh? A little bit scary. Wow.
We saw a little echidna on the path coming up. He was scratching his bum.
Did you get that on camera? I don't think so. I think I got it on my phone.
It's cute. Those quills were itchy. Such a beautiful day. The sun and the view and the birds.
Can Sammy keep her shoes clean? I'm trying. I think that's where we're going.
What was that? Why aren't you talking? I don't want to open my mouth because of the flies.
I'm afraid something's gonna fly in my mouth. There's so many flies everywhere.
What's up?
Hello. 600 meters. So many cool rock formations on this hike. Look at this guy.
It looks kind of like a mushroom. Literally, my knees are so weak. This takes my breath away.
Crazy view. This is so insane.
Get to the final viewpoint here. Check out this view. It is incredible.
Behind my fake wall. This guy doesn't like heights. You're doing pretty well.
There we go. Stay close to the ground. This is crazy up here.
It's not more relaxed than I thought it would be. Maybe it's because it's got comfortable
seating. It does. It's pretty comfy. Check out that view though, you guys. Wow. I know. What a view.
Look at my dad. What a badass. I don't like it. You're so pretty. I'm proud of you.
Sammy living life on the edge. If I look this way onto the ground, I'm fine. If I look that way,
not good. Let's try to scare Sammy. You knew it was coming, didn't you? I had a feeling because
I felt like you weren't that far in front of me and then everything went silent and I was like,
Tommy, did you hear me say that? We did this on the way, but you guys, we waited for you to scare
you a bit. Did you guys? Yeah. Mom got impatient. Patience key. That's half the battle though,
you know. We heard you get Sammy. I'm sure she was probably expecting that. It still doesn't matter.
All right. Just made it to McKenzie Falls. Supposed to be a nice viewpoint.
Sammy said swimming is prohibited because of unseen dangers,
which is a bummer because I'm so hot after that hike. I'm a little tuckered out.
I'm sleepy too. Kind of burly. Bird watching.
What'd you find? I found a stump tail lizard. Where's he at? He's right there.
That was so cool. Jackie saw one of those stumpy tail lizards on our last hike that we did
and I was like, Oh, I really wanted to see one of those. I heard the rustling in the bush. So I was
like, Oh, I thought it was an echidna, but then I saw the little stumpy tail. So it was so fun.
I love seeing like new Australian wildlife that we've never seen before. It's so fun for us.
It's really nice because McKenzie Falls is one of the biggest waterfalls here in Victoria and
it has water flowing all year round, so it doesn't dry up. So we're in dry season right now and it's
still pretty powerful actually. Yeah. It's really nice because when you're at the lookout point,
they have a nice cool breeze coming up off of the falls, which is great because we're kind of
sweaty from the hike that we just did. So if we had more time, I would have hiked all the way down
at the bottom. It takes you a little bit and it's pretty steep steps. It's not the easiest for
my mom in particular. And we're tired after the first hike. We're tired. But that's where I'd go
if it was me. Not allowed to swim, but it looks like it'd be very cool to see it close. Next up,
wine time. I go in to pay for gas and the guy says, Stite? I said, yeah, I'm from the States.
He said, no, I said recite. I said, yeah, recite, it all works.
Here's to Australia. Been a beautiful trip. To the lovely Australians who've been so hospitable to us.
Oh yeah, this has been such a great trip and very exciting because we are off to New Zealand now.
Cheers you guys. Cheers. We have a friend joining us for our end of the day drinks. Cheers.
Another one's coming in.
Cheers Edward. Hello. Yeah, I know what you mean.
