It's Christmas!
Oh boy!
Ooh!
Oh, there's a note inside!
Dear Taylor, I hope you enjoy this cup. Make something beautiful out of it. Merry Christmas. Love, Santa. Ho ho ho.
What is up guys? Welcome to this Christmas special video.
Now, you may be wondering, wait a minute, you've already started.
I did.
I'm sorry. I want to get in the Christmas spirit.
But I got so carried away making this cup, and you probably, can you figure out what it is by looking at it right now?
Of course, you can tell that's a Christmas tree.
Of course.
So, let me catch you up to speed.
Right now, I've got this image and this image that I drew on my phone.
This is a silhouette of Santa Claus, and this one is a Christmas tree.
Now, what we have here is kind of flat and dull looking because I've sprayed clear sealer on it.
If you want to see how to do that, click this video right here in the card.
But, it's holographic glitter, and what I did is I put the silhouette of it on vinyl on my Cricut and cut it out.
There's no resin yet.
And what I'm going to do is I'm going to spray this a teal color and put some larger glitter flakes, whatever.
And then, when it's all done, I'm going to seal it and then come back and put a water slide transfer of the images that you saw that I drew on my phone.
And if you'd like access to these images, just drop me a comment below.
I'll be happy to send it to you.
Why not?
But anyway, so then we're going to put the water slide on, and we're going to have a retro Christmas, beautiful, sparkly, amazing cup.
Let's go.
Alright, so this is what we have.
I've sprayed the teal color over it.
I didn't really lay it in too heavy or nothing.
The vinyl doesn't really stick that great to the glitter and clear coat sprayed over it, just sealer.
And it's kind of rough looking.
I'm not really worried about that because resin will fix all that.
And really, you should probably resin over any glitter layer before you do another step.
But I'm trying to save steps here.
I'm trying to save time to have somebody drinking out of this beautiful Christmas cup before actually Christmas Day.
Next, I'm going to spray a light layer of this stuff here over the teal spots and then lay the fine glitter and a chunky glitter.
Now, I don't have it.
This is the closest teal as I have, and it looks pretty cool.
I think it'll work.
It's just an experiment here.
Everything I do is an experiment.
That's pretty cool.
That turned out crazy because the pink, the red started bleeding through pink and I had to do it again, like by hand.
Because I've already pulled the stencil off by then, so that was hard.
But it turned out great.
The knots are an experiment.
This dirty pour is an experiment.
Everything is an experiment.
That's how you learn.
That's why I'm doing this so you can learn along with me with my glittery hand.
Okay, next step.
So now we're ready.
I waited about 15, 30 minutes.
I don't know.
I would have brushed it with the Tack-It, but I wanted to spray it because I didn't want the brush.
The brush is really runny, the Tack-It, and I didn't want it to go under this stencil since it's not holding on all that great.
So all I'm going to do is sprinkle some of this little guy here.
Matches that color perfectly.
Look at that.
That's insane.
I got a lot of colors to choose from, so I took the glitter over there and picked one that was close.
Then I'm going to sprinkle some of these big guys on here.
If it doesn't stick, I'll lay another layer of spray down, and I'll get it to do whatever I want to.
Just do whatever you want.
Then come back, and we'll take this guy off, and then we'll resin it, and we'll go to the next step.
Cool.
Okay.
Merry Christmas.
This turned out beautifully.
I'm about to take the stencil off, and we'll see what we're left with.
These big chunky glitters are flying everywhere.
Of course, it's going to pull some off the edges, but so I'll just show you this.
This is where my water slide decal is going to go, but I don't have a smooth surface to put it on.
So what we're going to do is we're going to take and resin this,
and of course, it looks really dull and not glittery right now because I took and sealed it.
With this.
And again, once again, to see the right way to use this stuff,
click the link in the card right here to the video.
A real short video.
I mean, it's not real short, but it gets straight to the point.
You don't want to mess up.
You want to use this stuff and do a good job for this stuff, for the cool part.
But if you don't do this right, this won't come out right.
So there you go.
And I'm just going to show you this because it is so satisfying.
Watch this.
Check it out.
Let me use the other hand so my hands are not in the shadow.
Ready?
Oh, that's beautiful.
Beautiful.
So let's throw this on the resiner, which is this thing back here.
It's just really a tumble turner.
I call it a resiner.
Don't give me any grief about it.
Anyway, let's go.
All right, guys.
In between the time of the resining, which I'll show you what that looks like.
It's beautiful.
It's ridiculous.
See that holographic?
I laid it down a little bit like the Tack-It method where you rub it,
but I rubbed too much on some spots where you can see some,
like you see through it right there.
Not really sure what I did wrong or how to keep it from doing that.
Whoops.
I'm just kidding.
So I got a Cricut and I got a printer and I got some water slide paper
and I got so aggravated because my Cricut would not cut the lines that I made for it.
Like this square, it wouldn't read this at all.
Like I sealed it with flat clear.
I tried it without sealing it first.
I tried all kinds of ways.
It's just the stupid thing just wouldn't read it.
So I got so aggravated and I finally just took and cut this one out
just by hand because it was transparent anyway.
And you can see it's a pretty crappy job.
But on here, you can't even see it.
You can't see the lines.
Not, I mean, you can see it if I hit the light just right.
But with resin on there, I feel like,
like this is my first time ever doing water slide.
I always hand paint everything.
And I feel like hand painting is easier right now because I've had a lot of trouble.
I've been messing with that thing for like hours.
So then I got this Santa Claus for the front side.
I was going to show you guys that because I forgot to get that because I was so aggravated.
But I ain't even trying to put this on the Cricut.
I printed this out on my printer.
Shiny side on the decal paper.
This is that spinet decal paper.
It seems like not a very good deal because you only get five of these sheets.
No, excuse me.
Not even that many.
Four sheets for $5.
And I'm sure you can get it cheaper somewhere else.
Definitely.
Because I don't know.
Also, as you hear I'm talking, I got some kind of something, some kind of cold or something like
it's that time of year or whatever.
So I'm just cutting this out by hand.
And I'm going to do finish that because I got all the way to here.
I'm just just being careful.
You know, I got a decent steady hand because that's kind of what I do with my hand painting.
And if you if you get over the lines, it don't matter.
It's just transparent.
That's why I feel like smacking sand claws right now.
I'm having a hard time getting this decal paper stuff.
And I drew this on my phone, by the way, just in case anybody's wondering.
I don't know if I said that earlier in the video or not.
Disclaimer here.
This is not a tutorial on how to do water slide decals because I have no idea what I'm doing.
This is my first one.
Ho ho ho.
And I don't know if I'll do any more because this is I'm sure I get the hang.
Of course, I want to do more.
I just bought a printer.
I got to like get use out of the printer.
You see, I left a little white there.
It didn't get perfect because this is transparent.
It's not going to see it at all.
But I did get the shadow area of Santa's beard to shadow stash.
And you notice I cut off his curls because it's just white.
You're not going to see it.
So and it'll be easier to transfer because sliding it off, those little curls will probably
do something crazy.
I don't know.
Don't need them.
They're already on there.
See, look.
So anyway, let's soak this bad boy for 30 seconds and then flip him over and soak the
other side.
Get Santa Claus all nice and squishy, wishy.
And then we'll slap him on here.
And I hope it goes as smooth as I just explained it.
OK, Santa's been soaking for a minute.
Let's get him.
I'm going to dip my fingers in the water and rub water on here because I think I saw somebody
do that.
I try to watch like 50 videos.
That way, when I go to do my first one, I'm a professional.
Isn't that how it goes?
I think so.
Anyway, I just got my legs soaking wet.
What is up?
So let's see if Santa's ready.
Santa, are you ready?
Oh, yes, sir.
I'm sliding all over the place.
Is that how you talk, Santa?
That's weird, man.
Anyway, put him down close enough where you think he should go like the North Pole.
Ho, ho, ho.
Start sliding.
Then I believe you just hold the top.
Slide the bottom out.
Sounds about right.
And you wet underneath so you can move it around.
So no big deal.
What are you doing?
You're coming out sideways, Santa.
Straighten up, dude.
OK, there's some curlage going on, not curls, but some wrinklage right there.
You can see it.
You cannot really see Santa's face very good.
I felt like it would be like brighter, like Santa.
Oh, don't move all over the place, bro.
Ho, ho, ho.
What's going on, bro?
OK, I'm not really sure you can see Santa that good.
Is that good enough?
Can you see it?
Leave me a comment below.
What do you think?
Santa's showing up good enough.
Don't want to make this all the way to the edge.
Yo, yo.
Like that.
Let's move this over.
There we go.
Now it's lined up perfect.
Oh, wait, I'm looking at my camera and it's telling me it's not perfect.
Why don't you tell me, people at home?
You're watching.
Wait, I went too far.
Why is this so hard?
I think I got it.
Nope, I don't.
The camera don't lie.
It might be because I have two layers of resin and it's kind of got like a 3D effect.
But I'm really, I really thought you could see Santa better.
Maybe I should brush this way with my finger.
I need like a brush to get the water bubbles out.
This is going to be a long video because this is taking me forever.
Santa is being on the naughty list.
Okay, I think, I think we're good.
Let me stand up and look over.
That is just my chair.
Okay, okay.
I think we're, yeah, yeah, like that.
That's it.
Booyah!
Santa is done.
Yeah, he looks jolly.
His eyes aren't really showing up.
He's got glasses on.
We're gonna let that dry till morning.
Then I'm gonna put more resin on it, probably.
Yeah, boy.
Yeah.
How you like that Santa?
All right, so it's the next morning.
I come back.
These are dry.
I'm about to put some resin on it and I'm gonna tell you what.
It dried and it like got brighter.
I don't know.
It's crazy.
I've never used this stuff before.
But dude, look how cool that looks.
Every color is sparkly underneath them and it's taking on the holographic I have on here.
And I sprayed a layer of clear just to seal it.
Actually, I did probably, I did two layers.
And if you want to know how to, the right way is.
If you want to know the right way to spray this clear sealer
so that you can move on to the next steps and you won't have any problems.
Click this link right here.
Wait a minute.
Let me get right there in the card and watch that video.
Quick little how to on tips and tricks on spraying your Matte Clear A.
There's no A.
Okay, anyway, we're gonna resin this and I am happy.
I think it looks great.
What do you think?
And look at how that flake or the chunky glare does.
It's amazing.
Oh, Santa looks happy.
He's happy this morning.
But it's crazy because last night with the water on it, and I'll say this and then I'll get to resin.
I promise.
But last night when Santa was on here, I don't know if I was sleepy or what,
but the water on it, maybe it just looked like it was just like all my details were gone.
And now it's just like it's supposed to be.
I don't know how to explain it other than that.
I guess when it dries, it looks different.
So I keep smacking the camera like this until we get it.
We understand.
Got it.
Good.
Okay, let's resin.
Bye.
