Well next up 17 year old Nico Makita, 18 year old Tyler Gennaro from the Champs International Skating Center of BC, coached by
Megan Wing and Aaron Lowe.
Third in the challenge last year competed at the Youth Olympic Games and was on last year's Skating to Hairspray.
Touched me, he looked at me and stared. Yes, he bumped me.
My heart was unprepared. When he tapped me and knocked me off my feet.
One little touch, now my life's complete, cause when he nudged me,
Love put me in a fix.
Yes, it hit me, just like a ton of bricks. Yes, my heart burst, now I know what life's about.
One little touch and love knocked me out.
And I can hear the bells, my head is spinning. I can hear the bells, something's beginning.
Everybody says that a girl who looks like me can't win his love.
Well just wait and see, cause I can hear the bells, just hear them chiming.
I can hear the bells, my temperature's climbing. I can't contain my joy, cause I finally found the boy I've been missing.
Listen, I can hear the bells, I can hear the bells, I can hear the bells.
You can't stop an avalanche of races down the hill.
And you can try to stop my dancing feet, but I just cannot stand still.
I was lost till I heard the drums, then I found my way.
Cause you can't stop the beat, ever since this whole world began.
And so I'm gonna shake and shimmy it the best that I can today.
Cause you can't stop the motion of the ocean or the sun in the sky.
You can wonder if you wanna, but I'll never ask why.
And if you try to hold me down, I'm gonna spit in your eye and say.
That you can't stop the beat.
Cause you can't stop the motion of the ocean or the rain from above.
You can try to stop the paradise we're dreaming of.
But you cannot set the rhythm of two hearts in love to stay.
Cause you can't stop the beat.
Great energy throughout that performance.
Good detail as well, we'll go through the elements.
Of course Miku and Tyler having a number of Junior Grand Prix experiences.
And doing very well, placing up in the top five in the Junior Grand Prix.
A good part of this dance, they have a level three and a level four for the second sequence.
And here's the twizzles, both coming in at a level four.
Great unison on this, great speed going in.
Nice and close as well.
Second side, level four for Miku, level four for Tyler.
Good energy as the pace changed.
Had this dance of course for a little longer than normal.
Because of the type of year it was.
So, kept the same rhythm.
Which was a good move by the ISU.
And there you go, great energy.
Wonderful performance by Miku, Makita and Tyler at Guernera.
Both started skating at the age of five.
Miku in grade 12 and Tyler at Simon Fraser University, first year.
For Miku, parents chose to put me in skating so I can learn how to skate for school trips.
School field trips, and look what happened.
So many good dance teams coming from a number of different countries.
It's always entertaining.
And always a very close competition.
Of course, Canada has always done so well in this discipline.
And will continue to do so.
With such terrific, outstanding dance coaches here in Canada.
Too bad that actually not all the single skaters and para skaters,
or many of them do actually, get coaching on the basic skating skills from the dance coaches.
Let's take a look at Tyler and Miku's rhythm dance score.
Whoa, 66.25.
What a great score that puts Miku and Tyler currently into first place.
There's a look at your leaderboard.
