Arsenal. Arsenal. Arsenal. Arsenal fans, we have 99 problems at this football club.
Beating Tottenham ain't one of those, man. We've done the double over them, as you know already.
Arsenal 2, Tottenham Hotspur 1. I want to say Lewis Kelly's an absolute star. Big up
Trossart for not only scoring, but what you did to Pedro Pirro, you should be in HMP Penterville.
That was an absolute travesty. Not for Arsenal, but for them. On a serious note though,
obviously we know the climate around our football club. We drew against Brighton,
Manchester United and Newcastle dealt with us and they did what needed to be done. That's neither
here nor there. Congratulations to them. We could not let Spurs look at those two fixtures,
particularly at the Emirates, and think they're going to come and be a part of that, people.
The games, it's a weird one. It's not a weird one, but it is a weird one in a sense of,
obviously we didn't beat Newcastle or Man Utd, but I don't think we started slowly in those games,
I don't think we started slowly in those games, regardless of how we panned out,
it panned out. And you definitely can't do that in a North London derby where both teams, Spurs'
form is worse than ours, but both teams are struggling. Going into the game as well, people,
you did kind of think it was, it's one of them weird ones that Arsenal can't exactly score goals,
so to see two, it's like buses, isn't it? Arsenal can't exactly score goals of recent, Spurs
can't defend. So I think for the neutrals, on top of it being a North London derby and one of the
only fixtures that still maintains its, it's kind of spark in a derby if I'm honest with you. It
made sense that what happened happened. But as I was saying, for me, we started okay when we lost
to Newcastle in United. And I think the Spurs game, we started well. I think one thing I wanted
to see was some pride in the shirt. One thing I wanted to see was the ball being moved quickly
and protagonist. And I think I said before the game, I feel Mikel Arteta and everyone around
Arsenal, they make a big song and dance about the fans providing the atmosphere and all of that.
And I think sometimes they're on brand with that. Sometimes the fans have to lift the players and
vice versa. And I think the North London derby, owing to how we feel about us at the moment,
I think the fans are naturally going to be up for a North London derby, even if they're angry with
the team and whatnot, like it's hatred, isn't it? You get where I'm going. But I think the players
put in a performance to give the fans something to get behind. And isolated to that game,
it was started well. I think there was energy. I think we moved the ball quickly. I think
everybody stood up to be counted. Shout out Lewis Skelly once again, people. We started well. We had
a lot of possession, all of that kind of stuff, people. But at the end of the day, the same old
issue is where it's heading. And initially, we were struggling to put the ball in the back of
the net. You couldn't write it up. You couldn't write it, people. We know the script. Spurs on
the counterattack. Really, it took Spurs about 15 to 20 minutes to wake up. And within that period,
from them waking up to scoring, it was on brand. Now, maybe I'm wrong with Spurs. And I don't know
how they deploy themselves in big games. Because when I was doing my watch along, I called one of
my friends, some of you would have seen. And he said, the way Spurs set up is what Posta Koglu
seems to do in big games, right? But for me, thank the Lord, as a non-Spurs fan, you can
criticise them defending, the personnel they've got, whether the players are good enough. But
Posta Koglu is quite brave. Now, I'm not calling him stupid. But there's a thin line between
playing brave football, being brave in life, and being stupid. I thought regardless of their form
or whatever, they're going to fly forward consistently, just do a madness. And I think
they sat back for an initial part of their game. Before a ball went into the back of the net,
they sat back. It was all us. Admittedly, it was a better watch on the ball than it's been
recently for Arsenal or this season. We're moving it well, but we never scored. And let
that be a lesson. The hardest thing to do is put the ball in the back of the net. We know the issues
in terms of scoring. Unfortunately for us, Son gave them the lead again. Poor goal to concede
against a run of play. But I don't think with that, there was no need to panic. We know Spurs
are going to give us chances. Whether we take them is another thing. So to see Gabriel again,
help us get back into the game. And to see Trossart, because especially you want to see
realistically, the Trossarts, the Havertzes, the Martinellis, you lot are the goalscorers
and you need to score. We need you to pick up confidence and whatever. So I was happy to see
Trossart score. Obviously happy for Gabriel. I think we've done well. I can't praise Lewis
Skelly enough, whether it's the shithousery he's doing or just his ability on the pitch.
I think Saliba looked a bit rusty at the beginning, but other than that, it was fine.
And yeah, man, again, I'm past the, obviously it's the North London derby,
breaking rights, you want to banter Spurs. You want them to remember that North London
will always be red, but we've got bigger fish to fry in a sense of we've got big,
word to Robbie. We've got bigger problems at Arsenal. We have bigger problems than Spurs
really. So happy we got the three points, you know, that's 50% of the two games done.
You know, we've got a big test against Aston Villa where they're coming to the Emirates.
One thing that's winning, losing and drawing, you never know week in, week out, but
considering the fixture calendar list we've had and all of those kinds of things, I am disappointed
that the games or our form's gone a bit left because I thought, you know what, you have
Newcastle, you've got Man United, you've got Spurs, you've got Villa, a couple of other games.
It's all at the Emirates. You could go on a little run, home comfort and all of that.
And it hasn't quite been that. So it's a step in the right direction. You know,
I know some Arsenal fans are probably a bit giggity now in the sense of Zouba Mendy in the
summer, allegedly three points against Spurs. If it's great again after slagging off the team.
So it's a step in the right direction. You know, even Declan Rice come out and said we look light
as well. You know, Tini's coming on left wing really. You know what, it's got to the point,
you might as well just show Tini, who could be going to Celtic next season.
You might as well just show Tini, Gareth Bale videos. Gareth Bale went from a left back to
right wing. I mean, the right wing spot's free. You never know, weirder things have happened now.
But on a serious note, obviously I'm disappointed not to score more goals,
not to get a clean sheet, to have to come from behind, even though I'm really exaggerating that.
I think the performance was there and ultimately we got the three points, man. It's as simple as
that. So yeah, man, we did what needed to be done. It was great last night. Doesn't matter now.
We need to focus on Aston Villa.
