hey I'm Lori welcome to my Channel today
we're going to be doing something really
fun with 21in deco
mesh so I'm going
to zoom down and we'll get started so
what we're going to do is we're going to
take this mesh and we're going to make
awareness ribbons so this is a super
easy method to do this is a fun method
to do and I want to show you something
that's going to help make it easier so
you're going to need
a the middle part of a 21
in
mesh and what you're going to do is
you're going to take it and you're going
to wrap it
around the roll and you're just going to
go one two three when you get to three
you're going to take
your mesh cutter and just go along
okay all right and then you're going to
pull that
out and then you're just going to fold
it
over so when you're folding it over make
sure you have that edge on the
inside okay so this is an awareness
ribbon
okay so you have the curve up here and
then the curls down
here and what you do is you take
it you go to your wreath frame so this
is a work wreath you put it
down and you're going to put a second
one on top of it going the opposite
direction so let's do that one more time
and then I'll show you a different way
to do
it one two
three
okay take your rotary cutter and just go
right along that
line pull it
out make sure you know where that little
cut Edge is fold it over
just like that so see I have my cut Edge
right in
there isn't that
fun then you go back to your wreath form
you open it up and you see how you put
it the opposite
way okay you can also put it going
sideways so either way up and down or
sideways so up and down is going to have
more height and
sideways is going to have less height
but more fullness around the
sides okay so I want to show you again
but a different
way okay so with this way with this way
you're just going
to cut your mesh at 10 in
just like that okay and then you just
curl
it lift
it tuck that little piece in and there
you have your awareness
ribbon I find it easier to kind of put
these on as I'm
going so that's what I'm going to do and
we're going to go
sideways I've done a lot of and down but
I think it's fun to do sideways
too there we
go Tu that piece
in and then right on top going the
opposite
direction so we had
the we had the poof here and here so
they're opposite you see how nice and
full that
is okay you can also take your cut
pieces and use your roll so just roll it
around pull it
out so exact same
process it just depends on how you like
to do it so if you have trouble with
your
hands this roll can make a big
difference okay all right then we're
going to go
down so we'll start with the poof over
here we'll place it
down get another
one okay
just like that pull it
out fold it
over tuck that in it's naturally going
to want to come out you just tuck it
back
in then
go you'll put the
poof on one side and the curl on the
other there see how pretty that is okay
so I'm going to keep doing that so I'll
keep cutting them and putting them on
and then when we get to the top I'll
show you but it's going to be the exact
same
process oh one thing I will say is you
can
also take your
tool put in the one that you made
make the second
one
okay place it
in then pull out the whole
thing and put it
down at
once just like
this so if you want to do it
individually that works and if you don't
you can also do it like
this if you use a dollar tree wreath
frame then you would just put the ties
on yourself 10 on the bottom eight on
the
[Music]
top okay so we have the bottom done look
how pretty that is so now we're going to
open up the top and we're going to do
the exact same process on the
top
okay okay so you just take
one so if you're curling it without
using the roll it's best to curl it kind
of on the ends on the
edges because the center will basically
follow the
edges I love to do it with a mesh like
this with the stripes because I feel
like it really kind of shows the stripes
off
better there we
go
okay see how we put one with the poof
one with the curls poof
curls
okay and we're just going to go go to
the
top place it down and you'll see it'll
automatically spread out to cover so
both the top and the bottom will cover
that
Center so you won't see the ring okay so
I'm going to finish this up and then
we'll see what it looks
like okay the whole thing is done
now this is beautiful this is one roll
of mesh so with the 21 in mesh of course
you're going to get a lot of coverage so
you really don't need two rolls one roll
works great you might see a couple
little places but all you have to do is
kind of move the mesh around and that'll
take care of it now we haven't added
ribbons or anything on it so that helps
as well but how pretty is that isn't
that beautiful you can see all the
little curls and the little
poofs so 10 in 36 pieces two in each tie
there's 18 ties okay so now that it is
completely
done I'm going to go ahead and add some
ribbons to it and a
sign so I pulled out this is the ribbon
I want to use it has little flowers on
it has black and
pink so I pulled got a couple of sign
options I really like this
one and I like these two so this one's
happy Mother's Day happy Mother's Day
and then home sweet home I kind of
wanted to
see which one would look best with the
mesh that one looks real
pretty yep I like that
one I think I like this
one but these would also work
okay so I think we're going to do home
sweet
home but you could easily do a Mother's
Day with
this okay the ribbons we're going to be
using of course this one and then a
light pink I also want to bring in a
bright pink and some
purple so I'm going to cut these at 12
in just using my my ribbon comb okay so
I'll just go to the 12 in Mark and I
want nine of them so nine of each
combination
so I do want to dovetail these for the
nice
little look it gives so all I do is take
one side fold it up and cut up towards
the edge same thing on the other
side and it just gives that nice little
look okay
[Music]
okay so we're just going to take
our ribbon
Tails two at a
time I'm just going to fold them in half
find the center
pinch and then just kind of run my hand
under it okay so that has wire under it
so it's going to help it just kind of
stand up more on the wreath then I'm
going to put it
in and I'm just going to
tuck the little pieces of the ties in so
you won't really notice
them okay and then we'll go on to the
next one I'm going to going to alternate
all the way around on the top and the
bottom you can also so clip off the
tie and tuck it
under right let's do one more and then
I'll speed through
this on the bottom I tend to kind of
keep them together
especially until I get the top
done and then I can spread them out if I
want
to okay so I'll finish the rest and then
we'll get started on
[Music]
top okay so I'm going to start on the
top
[Music]
on the top I'll spread the ribbons out
so we can see the pattern a little
better there we go
[Music]
okay we've gotten all the way around
look how pretty that ribbon is so it's
going to really pop when we get our sign
in here because then that's going to
pull all of the ribbons
together okay so you can see what it
would look like with the other
signs very
pretty okay so I'm just going to pop a
hole in the bottom and in the top with a
metal hole
punch this works a lot better for metal
signs and then some 26 gauge
wire I cut about 20 in or so
all
right I'll just put it right through the
hole and then I kind of double it up by
meeting the ends and I twist it right
where the sign is that way the wire
won't move
okay I like to use these plastic weaving
needles to put
the wire
in so I just load it on like I'm going
to sew something and I can go right down
through the mesh so I can just push down
through the
mesh right to the other side of the
frame and then I just twist it around
the frame several
times until I feel it's secure and then
I'll trim it
off but it's much faster to do it this
way with the weaving
needle okay let's do the other
side see how well that side coordinates
with that ribbon
okay there we
go right down through the
mesh see there it
is and I just tie it to whichever frame
is easier to get to so for me it's this
middle
piece you want your sign to kind of
float on top without smashing any of the
mesh
okay here we
go all right then we can kind of
straighten up any ribbons that we need
to make sure they're not covering our
side oh that's pretty
okay it's really easy to hide this wire
so that's why I like it so much all
right let's take a look at
it all right there we go look how pretty
that
is is't that a fun
method all right I hope you enjoyed this
