Early Ice Fishing for Lake Michigan TROUT (Shanty Camping)

[Music] there she is guys that is just a magnum SE forel and brown [Music] trout dude it's h like one most CRA looking one I even kid oh my God we have arrived before we stake out the camping spot though we have to make a crucial stop at this legendary sports shop all right we have completed our nearly 6-hour drive to the middle of Wisconsin here in Milwaukee but we need to get some Bells some impulse purchases and some bait and stuff before our little Adventure hello have everything you could possibly think of and More in here oh my goodness it's always nice stopping off at some of these tackle shops out of town oh my gosh want to buy you so bad they got me oh well if you know what plug I was just showing you know when and where that is good that's all I'm going to say anyways 10minute rip from the spot here got good 2 hours until sunet so I got to spot around and then we are going to set up [Music] camp all right we have arrived I guess if we can't find safe ice to camp on we might just sleep on the dock with our shelter what's that you look familiar for some reason yeah this how you get in here all right I think we're good to go oh that's heavy holy crap I don't think I could have fit another pound on this freaking slide guys so we just got here it does look like maybe somebody's been fishing off the dock right here but they're so close to the dock that I can't tell if it's like safe to check out there are some scattered Footprints so I may run around with the Spud bar looking for three to four good hits for at least spots that I can set my jaw jackers but camping at especially with this gear um going to want to look for something a little thicker like that 5 to six plus that's four Good Hits there that's three really good hits this is definitely more than safe I'm going to plug a hole right here and see what's going on that's a lot of ice holy crap that's way more than I thought oh yeah it's like as deep as my hand so we're going to be deploying some jaw jackers pretty much the standard for what everybody uses out here they're like these automatic hook setting devices essentially it's got a a little hair pin trigger on there and if anything if anything sets this thing down like that AKA a bite the rod releases pops up sets the hook so yeah we're going to take one of our shiners here going with a rather large one we're going to send you down to the depths hopefully there's going to be a big old brownie on the end of it perfect they kind of seem to follow these edges so the idea is that you know maybe something Falls this edge up now we're really going off into the abyss here that's three good that's three huh that's like two in filling worst case we just sleep on the dock I guess but I'm going to see what's going on inside these slips that's four good Jabs this might be Camp right here actually kind of want to be careful about putting them next to these pilings too because it's just another thing for these fish to wrap around holy oh boy that's a crack nothing makes your heart drop faster guys I'm telling you this looks like it's our best ice so I'll probably end up setting Camp up in this [Music] slip oh hello there will be joining us tomorrow along with a handful of other people silus Casey so we should have a really solid spread tomorrow a lot of lines lot of chances but going to get some shy sleep for what I going on got him I got a brown I think some oh yeah oh yeah it's a nice Brown nice Brown nice Brown dude yeah bro he missed it and turned on it I couldn't even tell you probably four times sneak out of the way is it a brown or a freaking Steely I can't tell I can't look over the hole oh yeah it's a nice Brown nice little mama brownie hey she turned and swiped on that thing probably five times dude like no exaggeration that was sick yeah oh look at that little biscuit it finally got what we're after here nice brownie on The Jig we'll take it swipe that like five times and then finally hit on the last and she's got some gold this is what we call Liquid Gold you know it's a very common practice for Walley and a lot of fish they'll actually milk the fish out let the fish go at these fisheries and there's been studies that show if you if you're easy on the fish when you do this just like that when you let that fish go be just good fine she's going to be just fine it's going to live just fine see how she took off and there you go then you got yourself a bunch of egg just like that and one thing I want to point out is what if you do decide to milk out a fish it does count towards your bag limit okay I do not think we're going to get a single fish today oh you know better step it up if I so exactly has there been any gender identification want to jump to conclusions oh nice fish nice fish right take him nice oh very nice fish heck yeah hand that one to Cal [Music] get on the well looks like we're through the better part of the morning bite here Eric and friends are packing up right now give some of these noobs some pieces of advice here if they want to come try this for themselves what do you got to say well you got give me some advice I'm I'm that guy right now you got to have good bait right so you got to have good spawn not a bunch of cured up spawn just good Brown spawn or rainbow spawn good minnows if you don't have that some shrimp if you don't have that little tubes little spoons light line and just remember these fish swim around so it's not so much a spot today you know there's 10 guys there 12 guys there a bunch of guys behind us and we've seen zero other fish hooked across maybe one and we've hooked you know 12 to 15 fish so it's just all about those attention to little details guys having the right system the right you know jaw jackers the right rods the right bait and that gets you the right bite it's been pretty dead I did have my dracker go off one time when I went up to my truck to go charge my Liv scope haven't seen anybody besides somebody actually just caught a fish for the first time in about 5 hours it's just a mad house here there are people everywhere there's people sliding on their stomachs across the ice there's literally a dude driving a motorcycle in the marina right now I did talk to Casey and Eric and we might be meeting back up with them again tomorrow I don't know if I'll be overnighting it tonight or what I'll be doing that way either away we're fishing tomorrow we're figuring something out just wasn't feeling it here I'm going to crash up my buddy Casey's tonight and see if we can't find a new bite and some different water hoping we can get the job done tomorrow on big nice Mama Brown royalty today we're meeting up with Casey silus and Eric again Vibes are high everybody seems pretty excited about where going right now light should be creeping up here in about an hour going to get the shack set up and see if we can't Jake some fish up oh he's looking at it guys big fish one on I think this the longest we went without a bite and it was maybe 10 minutes right loose though you'd love to see guys we're doubled up again Browns steel head but didn't have a chance to run over there and film this nice little mama Brown just going to let her go just a it's like a steel head Rod a smaller version that's kind of how I tried to design so to absorb those head nice nice fish fish numero dose and we got an upgrade oh they're Steely hens are friends as we say at home yes I like it hens are friends indeed to complete the double off your uh your brownie There She Goes sweet that potentially looked like it could have been a a bites first K AC Auto pop Alo Steel still got a little zip in them this is crazy dude The Jig is just like nasty today theule again still looking for the brown but we will keep oursel busy with these all day Lively we've had a killer jig bite so far today which you don't get often I mean sometimes you'll get a a fish two jigging but it seems very apparent they want the jig today so that is sweet but still chasing that brown but we're keeping ourselves preoccupied with some nice steel Ed so just going to keep chugging along hell yeah buddy good dud that was that was that fish that I saw a second ago came around for it again oh boy it's a good fish man it might be like it's what you came for you know I would say you're all day in the 10 lb category she's a little wrapped up I think yes she is it's cuz it's on the side of the side of the F yeah that's a nice fish it's not giant but it's no it's a solid fish you don't want to cool nice beautiful solid fish buddy not massive but finally what we're looking for a nice quality lightr Brown I'm The Jig too what ride be good nice nice buddy didn't mean to end the video abruptly right there but we did not catch any more fish and I had a 6-hour drive home back to Michigan was sick to meet up with Eric and Cal go fishing I've been doing this for a couple of years now and I'd say that this was definitely one of my more successful trips out there there were a lot of fish that I did not show that will be shown in Eric's upcoming ice fishing video so be sure to check out his channel obviously I think more of you guys probably know him than me he is a freaking Great Lakes fishing Legend but it was a pleasure fishing with him meeting Cal meeting back up with Casey and uh Silas and overall good time but we got some really cold temperatures coming here in Michigan so expect some more ice fishing videos and hopefully we can freaking bring this little ding dong with us on the next
