I just did a 1,000 rep ab workout which included 100 mountain climbers, 100 Russian twists,
100 sit-ups, a 100 second side plank, 100 second plank, another 100 second side plank,
100 heel taps, 100 leg raises, 100 crunchy frogs, and a 100 second V-sit hold.
It's gonna be crazy, so let's get into it.
So the organization, the logistics of this is pretty simple.
I'll be having a timer on my phone, you'll see the timer on the screen on this white
board back here.
I have all 10 exercises written down along with their reps, so I'll just be walking through
that.
I'll be crossing them off as I go.
You'll also see a rep counter on the screen.
As far as strategy goes, I think the first 400 or 500 reps, the first 400 or 500 exercises
should be pretty easy.
But once we get into the second side plank, the V-sit hold, the crunchy frogs, those last
couple hundred reps are gonna be pretty difficult.
It's a pretty nasty combination of the three I just mentioned, so I'm just hoping to keep
it slow, go steady in the start to conserve energy for the last half.
Also, feel free to try and do this with me, try and beat my time.
If you do it, you will be rewarded with a shout out on my story, so make sure to let
me know in the comments or on Instagram if you do do it.
Here we go, 1,000 rep ab workout starting now.
That is the 100 mountain climbers and 100 brush and twists down, so two-tenths, 20%
of the way through.
Now on to the 100 wide leg sit-ups.
Wide leg sit-ups are a great sit-up variation because as you go down and then up, instead
of just in a normal sit-up going sort of halfway up, you actually have to fully extend over.
So while a normal sit-up is this, wide leg sit-up is over.
So 98 more, counting those two to go.
I'm 65 reps through the wide leg sit-ups.
This is the point where I'm sort of starting to slow down.
I'm definitely now feeling something in my abs.
They're warmed up and starting to feel that burn that I would get very used to.
So I'm just going to finish these up and then keep it going.
Just on the plank now, this is the 400th to 500th rep, so I'm exactly halfway by the end
of this.
Abs are starting to burn as well as the obliques from the side plank, and then I got another
side plank after this, which is probably where it's going to start to get really tough.
We're just past 10 minutes, so keeping up a good time, and time to finish up this plank.
That is the plank done, 500 reps and 12, roughly 12 minutes through.
Now it's on to the second side plank on my other arm.
Just finished up the second side plank, that's 600 reps down in 15 minutes.
Now on to heel taps, which is sort of like being at the bottom of a sit-up and then alternating
to touch your heels.
Time to get started on that.
Heel taps down, now we get into the terrible three, the trifecta of pain.
That is 100 leg raises, 100 crunchy frogs, and then 100 second V-sit hold.
That's going to be pretty tough, especially the leg raises and crunchy frogs.
That's just a lot of reps to do, so this will probably take a while.
Just finished the 100 leg raises, my legs feel like lead right now, and my abs aren't
great either, which sort of sucks because I'm going into 800 crunchy frogs, which work
both the legs and the abs.
Here we go, I'll see you on the other side.
This is really weird, I don't know what's happening to me right now, but I can barely
get these crunchy frogs.
I thought it was bad, but I'm seriously, I feel like I'm weighted down, my legs are just
like 50 pounds or something.
This has honestly never happened to me before.
I'm going to try and just give them 20 seconds, stretch them out, because I don't know if
I'm going to be able to do 100 at this rate.
Okay, that's 50 done of the crunchy frogs, just over 25 minutes in, but I'm actually
like struggling so much on these, but my abs aren't burning, my legs aren't burning, they
just feel like heavy and weighted down, and I don't know how to explain this, but I guess
you should seriously try and do 100 leg raises and 100 crunchy frogs just to feel this, because
it's actually just really strange, this is, I've never felt like this, I don't know, my
legs have never felt this heavy before.
I know my form probably looks really bad on these, but this is seriously insane.
That is 100 crunchy frogs down.
Let's see, what's the time at?
Just under, perfectly pretty much, at 30 minutes, just the 100 second v-sit hold to go.
This is going to be bad, don't beat me up in the comments about the form, because this
is not going to be pretty, I can say that at least.
But nearly there, let's finish this off.
My legs are shaking, my abs are dead, this is really getting ugly.
It's 90 seconds down, 10 seconds of v-sits to go, I'm literally, my legs are spasming,
my abs, I can no longer feel them, just trying to get this over with.
Let's cross that off, well, look at that, 10 exercises, 100 reps each, all done.
Time is 33 minutes and 53 seconds.
Now, I really just don't know what happened at the end there, I guess the combination
of leg raises, straight into crunchy frogs, straight into v-sit, just killed me.
Like, I probably could have made the workout just those three, and it still would have
been 20 minutes out of the 30 to 35 minutes.
There we go, the 1000 rep workout has been completed.
I'm gonna go probably take an ice bath, or do something to try and recover from this.
