LeBron and the Lakers have won six of their last seven games,
closing in on the number four seed in the Western Conference
as they secured their fourth straight win on Monday against the Charlotte Hornets.
Now, L.A. head into a road matchup as favorites against the Philadelphia 76ers,
who will be without Paul George and Joel Embiid.
Somebody's going to be able to put the ball in the basket.
He's taking maybe this time down the floor.
They isolate LeBron, and here he goes.
Reverse layup is good.
Lakers on the board first.
Max Christie.
LeBron, nobody buying that fake.
Got plenty of time on the shot clock.
Working baseline as Reeves on the little back pass from LeBron.
Here's Oubre.
They still have not hit a bucket.
They're 0 for 6, and it's LeBron!
LeBron back to the basket.
Oh, what a pass.
Cross court.
Tapped in by Davis.
When you talk about a guide with your left hand, that was great control.
And just like that, Andy Davis strikes again.
Just getting going here in Philadelphia.
Nice bounce.
Nice bounce!
One-hand jam by Hachimura.
Again, Embiid is missing his 12th game in a row.
Yabasele.
Remember, the Lakers have at least three players as tall as Yabasele out there,
and they've got the majority of the points.
Another great dish by LeBron!
And where else was Rui?
Here's defense, offense.
Maxey, score!
It's like, all right, you want some of that.
Oh, Maxey.
Underneath, we got a sixer on the ground.
That's probably going to count, and a foul.
Another turnover.
Yeah, not a good pass by James.
Taken by Yabasele!
Get back to Lakers.
Underneath, they had three turnovers in their last four trips until that dunk.
There's a rainbow by Reeves for three.
Just a little flare play that time, pass to LeBron, and just flare to an open area.
The scoop and the score going in there to Reeves.
Sixers look for their third win in a row.
Literally out of nowhere, as we said, Rui midrange for two.
AD is not on the bench.
AD's still in the back in the locker room.
They nearly hold on to connect, and he drills a midrange jumper, corner of the key.
Look at this.
Pass by Reeves on the cut by Connect.
Nice movement without the ball, and really nice off the dribble pass without the second hand
actually having to go to the ball.
Connect had a quiet night last night in Charlotte after back-to-back 13-point games.
Reeves last night had five rebounds, six assists in 38 minutes.
Well, they asked a lot of Austin when the regulars were out there,
but now with this lineup, they're going to really ask a lot of Austin.
Alone in the corner.
Don't connect.
Yes, sir.
They've got to stop turning the ball.
Look at this move, Stu, by Austin Reeves.
That's one of the reasons why everybody's,
or JJ was talking about him playing at an all-star level.
Maxi for three.
He's shooting 39% from behind the arc in the month of January.
Max Christie, drive, kick, connect.
Going to shoot a three.
Got it again.
Maybe it's one of those nights.
If they ever need him to go on a heater, now's the night.
Rui, rise and fire.
Knock it down.
We're in Philadelphia.
We're halfway through a six-game road trip after tonight.
Christian, two-hand jam.
LeBron again goes all the way to the rim.
LBJ for two, 10-0 Philadelphia run.
Where else, Rui?
Throw it down for the baseline.
Rolling is LeBron.
Fall away jumper at the base is good.
Shot clock is off.
Council the fourth.
Well, not going to happen, is it?
Yes, Stu, that's the headline from the first half.
You know, AD playing such great basketball,
40-20 last night in Charlotte,
but unable to return due to the abdominal injury.
So we'll await further updates after the game.
Season high, eight games over,
playing great basketball.
Not tonight, not so far.
LeBron has the basket.
Wanted the foul, won't get it.
LeBron holds it over his head,
looking for somebody to go baseline.
Instead, it's Minnie Smith.
LeBron behind the back reads, swing it.
All the way over to Max,
and the Lakers have two threes in a row.
You can bet Nick Merris is feeling the pulse
of what's going on right now.
Maxey, that's a big answer.
He's hit three of their seven threes underneath.
At time, it's Austin.
Love, Christie, turnover, Lakers.
Another one.
16 in the game, and a three at the other end.
Timeout, Lakers.
Four turnovers in a row.
35 points now for Maxey.
On its way, Rui, 10-footer.
Right side, right hand.
It was a decisive move by Rui that time.
Didn't second-guess himself at all.
This is Reeves, immediately comes down
for the Lake show and scores.
Bob underneath, but that was not a bad play by Maxey.
Yamaselli wasn't even ready for it.
Can't connect, comes back for a three.
Can't connect, seems to have his confidence
working for him tonight.
Maxey, start, stop, change of pace, and score again.
Here comes Maxey, blows right past everybody.
Maxey, with LeBron in front of him,
trying to get right around him.
LeBron, he stayed pretty well with him right there
on defense, and it's going to be eternal.
Yeah, and then he ran into Jackson Hayes.
I was going to say, really good help by Jackson Hayes.
No A.D. after 10 minutes of action
to hurt an abdominal muscle.
LeBron gets two more.
Corner three, ooh, air ball goes right to James.
James looks to attack the rim.
Here he goes, blocked shot.
That was UCLA blocking USC right there.
That one comes up short.
40!
LeBron, reverse layup is good.
That's 21 points for LBJ tonight.
LeBron underneath, then it crawls over the rim
for two more.
LeBron up to 23 now in the scoring department.
LeBron, a three.
By the way, thank you to our great local crew here, too,
in Philadelphia.
LeBron, count it, and one.
That one is poked away, taken away by Reddish
after being poked free by his teammate,
and counted and one.
That's a good reach in by Koloko
to create that fast break.
Maxey scores.
Bronny throws it away.
Now it's a new season high with the counsel.
They're just having too much fun, aren't they?
Yeah, they're just having a real clinic now.
Boll is going to try a three and hit it.
There he goes, don't connect.
Milton will find Koloko.
Koloko came in tonight, obviously,
played a few more minutes than maybe
he would have expected.
Dalton is really heated up tonight.
Stick around if you'd like.
Post-game show.
I'm sure they'll have some choice words about tonight,
but a lot of concern for AD, too.
He can break this down in so many ways,
but that's the biggest story.
Dalton, one-hand jam.
Right down the middle, he went.
Dalton taking it into the paint
and then just elevating for the flush.
LeBron and everybody were kind of surprised
at the finish there.
I don't know why.
He's got that in his bag.
James looking to get on the board
and he cannot.
And the rebound is taken by Philadelphia
and this game, Stu Lance, is over.
This game has, to some degree,
been over for quite a while.
The domination of the Sixers with Tyrese Maxey,
a little too much for the Anthony Davis-less Lakers.
