Spending most of their lives in solitude,
polar bears roam the arctic landscape in search of food.
Playful kings of the polar region are the world's deadliest predators.
Fully grown male polar bears can weigh up to 800 kilograms, as much as a small car.
These majestic mammals spend half of their lives hunting for food,
both on land and in water.
His nose is always twitching.
He can smell prey from up to a kilometre away.
But seals, ever vigilant, have grown to be wary of these predators.
Perhaps this polar bear will have better luck next time.

Salty fur? No thank you.

As the summer sun warms the land, the bears seem to rejoice.
Fluffy cubs populate the arctic,
and mum patiently teaches her children everything she knows,
like pre-school, but with razor-sharp teeth.
And this might involve scavenging for when times get tough.
It's eggs for breakfast for this family of three.
The hunt for food is never quite finished, and appetites are never quite satisfied.
But as time marches on, so too do our bears.
Off to roam the ice in search of horizons new.
