In today's #dailyvlog we're traveling from Tampa, Florida after the Florida RV Supershow to Auburndale, Florida to one of the most expensive campgrounds in Florida, Margaritaville. But, this RV travel day is a special one, because it's the very first one where Daniel puts Baby Dash to work hooking up the Airstream. 😂
Hello Wanderer! We're about to hitch up at our last campground which is Lazy Days and then we're
headed back to Camp Murrydeville to hang out with some friends. And of course we're gassing up before
we hitch up. We're not gassing up before we hitch up, we're fueling up before we hitch up because
gas and diesel, the great debate right? Diesel, gas, diesel, gas, diesel, gas. Fine, we're fueling up.
We dieseled up. All right, that was exciting. Now we need to hitch up. Now we need to hitch up.
So a few campgrounds ago I left my package of gloves. I use nitrile gloves because I'm
allergic to latex and latex is like everywhere and that's a long story but... Why do you need gloves?
Um because I have to disconnect the sewer hoses and sewer hose and um
yeah the only thing hosed is me right now because I don't have any gloves available
and I'm definitely not touching the poop pipe with my bare hands so I've got to figure that out
because that's just disgusting. I have seen people, I've seen you, you know who you are,
disconnect all the sewer hoses with your bare hands. Uh gross.
Are you not just gonna go ahead and back her up now? Um like go and connect the truck to the
no so the spots here are a little bit short which is I know there's some people next to us that had
like a 40 something foot RV they were like these are a lot shorter than I was told but um yeah the
downside of hitching up now is that we'll be blocking the lane here so no one can get past
us because uh your truck would be kind of peeking out of your spot so I'm gonna get everything
prepared figure out my sewer situation and once that's all done we're all packed up then I'll back
up. So we have an hour and 15 minutes before we gotta leave? To be fair I actually did prep the
ends out of the airstream in advance this time so I'm pretty excited about that. Good for you.
Good for you. I should have done that as well but I did not so
she's on me. Clock's ticking let's do this. Somebody's sleeping on the job again
but look at those cows they're so cute. It is so hard to find good young laborers you know like
they're already falling asleep on the job. Dash you gotta do better buddy.
See? Mostly already prepped. Got a couple of things that are just like laying out.
A couple of dishes. Not bad. Good job honey. What are you looking for? Some shoes because
when you're disconnecting the you know wet hose you never want to be wearing sandals just in case
there's a little accidente and you get some splashage or spillage. I don't want to be too
graphic here but you know what I'm talking about. What do you think about that Dash?
Splashage or spillage? That doesn't sound fun. Nope. Did you have a good nap? Say yes.
Daddy Sherpa's gotta get ready to do some Daddy Sherpa duties but Daddy Sherpa needs his socks
for the job. Super dad. Yeah. Look at that. Now I can begin my duties. My dadly duties.
If you're watching one of our most recent videos you saw me on the struggle bus trying to get
these things loaded in the back of the truck. One they're heavy. We talked about this they're like
they're just kind of cumbersome to lift overall. They're really excellent bikes they're just not
very portable. I just put the whole dang thing up here all at once and it was a lot easier than
folding it and then lifting it up so now now I got up truck bed trying to now fold it. Pedals
get locked in the wrong position. Okay. You're doing good work Daddy Sherpa. Yeah.
Is that funny buddy? You see daddy on the struggle bus?
I nailed it. As you can see I mean look at all the stuff here. We basically have the bed of
our truck to work with when it comes to the big stuff big toys and uh it's not a lot of room.
This is why we've been considering a toy hauler because uh
the toys we have are like baby strollers and e-bikes and stuff. There's nowhere to put them.
Three things and it's full. Got a little bit of space but not much.
Got just enough room for my killer kamek. Yeah how's your foot feeling? Um I haven't thought
about the fact that I might have broken it. It still feels like it did on day one three weeks
later. But uh even broke the bones of heel eventually. Four to six weeks. It'll be fine.
It'll be fine. A little like a glove. Now we're gonna be traveling with some Matt's RV Review
liquefied and if we see the camera guy when we say hi we get some pre-liquefied.
It's our way of saying thank you. So where are you gonna store that other stroller?
Uh my vote is in the Airstream. Yeah that's what I was thinking. Because in the truck makes it
really hard to make baby Dash's car seat function. It's true. Plus you know we don't want to like
surround him with a bunch of crap anyways. You know that's not safe. We need to be safe. Practice
safety first. You agree with the practice and safety first dude? So somebody took their very
first step yesterday. Was that you little man? Was that you? Did you take your first step?
We're gonna have a walker on our hands soon y'all. Good news. Actually found some gloves. I remember
buying them when I first got here because I was all out of gloves at that point in time and went
to the local gas station. Uh pro tip don't buy gloves at the gas station because they're super
expensive. And I have some of these. These are kind of like food grade. It says RV dump gloves
but I mean come on this is like this is really counting as a glove. I mean seriously like first
of all I think they're like they're clearly one size fits all but like that looks like it fits
Barney. This looks like the hand of a giant. So if you are a giant here and again I'm just an
average size. There you go. That is dumb. There's your gloves right there ladies and gentlemen.
And you know what the kicker is? These were literally, I did the calculations, about 90
cents a piece and you can guarantee that this is probably like two cents of material here. Like
two cents you're charging me 90 cents at the gas station. I get it. I get it. You're paying
for the convenience. Totally get it. But at least make them fit. You know this is one size fits none.
But it creates a barrier between me and the poop pipe and that's that's what really matters
people. That's what really matters. Where do you usually get gloves? Depends. Like if we're like
if there's a local camp you know campsite around. Sometimes the campsites themselves have little
shops. Like at the camp? The campsite. The campgrounds I mean. Yeah. Have little shops and a lot of times
you can pick up some extra gloves there. But if not you Amazon them. If not I have to Amazon them.
Yeah because I again large latex and latex gloves are easy to find. Non-latex gloves, nitrile,
vinyl, not so much. These are just a rare breed of terrible right here but inexpensive.
Go get that done. Okay. How's the job coming? It's coming along very well. It's good to have gloves.
A little cameo from Magnum P.I.G.
Some of you new subscribers probably didn't know that this existed but uh
yeah. He's our pet. He is yeah yeah. What does he do? He protects it from popping out and you know
makes it a little less messy if your pipe doesn't pop out of the ground. Good explanation.
What do you think baby Dash? You ready to go to Camp Margaritaville?
What's daddy doing? Daddy's putting on some giant manhand gloves and because I had to rearrange the
truck bed. I have the stroller back there and there ain't no room for a stroller because I
have to keep my dirty bin back there. Yeah. So you're gonna put another stroller in the airstream?
Yes. So both strollers have to go in the airstream. Need more space? Yes. Yeah. Definitely.
Baby Dash. You have a lot of stuff dude. Dude I'm down here.
It's a fresh hose not a dirty hose. That's why I don't have gloves on
in case you're wondering. What are you doing? Drinking water. Oh. This coiled hose. Huge fan.
I've recommended this hose multiple times and I still stand by it. Obviously I'm still using it.
If it sucked I would have switched. True story. Dash was crying and then mama bear went to pick
him up. Nothing right? He's got he's got mama on lockdown. I mean literally I'm like Dash I know
what you did there buddy and he was like smarter than he's planning to be. Buddy is your daddy
ratting you out? Is your daddy ratting you out puppy? He's like I don't know what you're talking about.
Yeah. Uh-huh. The gig is up. We know it's up. Baby Dash. You have mommy rat. Yeah.
Did you find your mobile? Did you reach it? Oh what do you do? Everything goes in the mail.
Thank you boo. I'm going to shut off the water so he's emptying the line for me.
Ready to go? Just have to hitch up. All right. I haven't checked the pantry and refrigerator yet. Okay.
Yeah. That would be bad. There's a story that involves the Airstream looking like a murder
scene but that story's for another day. The short version of that story is that
things coming out of the pantry or the refrigerator
that it tends to be messy. So we got a cool simple little lock that we added there
so that it is officially protected. The broken hot sauce bottles they do tend to look kind of
somebody got murdered in here. The Airstream is officially travel ready but it has too much junk
in it for sure. I'm gonna have to pull that up a little bit. Yeah. Oh but it needs to still go up.
Keeper come to stop. Go back a little. Yeah there we go. Notice how we still have the chalks in.
Well my shadow's kind of in the way but the chalks are still
keeping it. Like Daniel said safety first. No lock step. If you have an Airstream
highly recommend it. Helps to stabilize the steps so it's not so wobbly.
Featured that step brace in an earlier video on Airstream modifications. With Phil the door guy.
Did you hit the away button? Yes. Good now I'm going to show you my little trick.
Peter just featured us in the video a few weeks back but I'm going to show you that this fix
is so easy that a baby could do it literally. So I'll show you that. Watch this. Dash can do it.
So when you're popping this bar in like so sometimes it's like you're like I can't get it up
and it won't slide up on top of here right. So what you do is simultaneously lift
while raising the jack and then it becomes so easy that you can do it. Watch this. Ready dude?
You ready to show everybody it's so easy a baby can do it? Ready and lift. Literally so easy a
baby can do it now. So if you're ever struggling with the bar just know even Dash can do it.
Dash. What do you think dude? You're a healthy daddy.
See I'm putting you to work. You're an open day. Hitch up. Yeah. See I'm not happy about it. That
was your first job. Yay. I'm gonna put the pin in. No not ready for that one yet. See so easy
a baby could do it. Good work Dash. Good work dude.
Well while the baby may be able to do the hitch the baby has not helped us get out on time.
It's officially 1103. We're three minutes late. You ready for our next adventure buddy?
Okay. I like your little toy. What you got there? Is that a campfire? Oh is that a campfire?
That's very appropriate. Do you love it? Yeah. Are you showing them your campfire?
Say my campfire is so cool. But seriously this onesie is supposed to be for a 12 month old baby.
Dash I think we're gonna need to get you more clothes. You're only eight and a half months old.
The struggle is real. All right are we all ready? I'm ready. Yeah. It's time to roll out.
Roll out. Margaritaville here we come. ETA 40 minutes. In case you wonder what we do on the road.
What do we do on the road? We sing karaoke but we can't play any of those songs because
we'll have copyright violations like galore.
Who sings karaoke? Well you do and then I listen and I encourage you to do more of it.
I don't sing. I do think that you have the voice of an angel just not me.
He's smoking something. We mostly talk about work. I mean that is true too.
More and more we do listen to audiobooks on audible so we're still powering through ready
player two. I think because we're in Florida we're not feeling that far so like usually we
have these like long road trips easy to knock out like four hours of an audiobook but lately it's
like you turn it on and 30 minutes later you're at the new destination so yeah. Speaking of we're
and someone's back to taking a nap. Oh my god. Oh I'm gonna get hit. Safe. You were safe Cone.
That is uh in those moments I'm glad I don't have a much bigger RV because that was a little
snuggie snug. And we made it back. I'm having some deja vu. It looks so familiar. I mean I
feel like I've been here before. Maybe just some deja vu but I don't know.
What do you think babe? You actually think you've been here before?
Parking trick is you always scooch the booty of your Airstream or RV up
past the site before you start moving her in. Dee's got skills here.
Look how massive our site is. So nice. Hey it's like you've done this before or something. I know
seriously. First try. Nailed it. Dash is this your favorite part about Margaritaville? The fun
uh whatever you call this stuff. Dang Dash what is this called?
Uh turf. We love the turf. It's so fun. You excited about this dude? Hi buddy.
Isn't this awesome?
Are you gonna go say hello Dash? Yeah I'm crawling. Next step is to level up. Literally like
using my Levelmate Pro. You can kind of see here I'm off by about two and a quarter inches.
Looks like my passenger side's too high so I'm gonna put the
Anderson levelers on the driver's side to help balance it out. Yeah not too bad.
Okay so I'll show you how this works. I'm in the truck. I'm gonna put it into reverse and then I
will essentially just back up until I see a zero or it's leveled out. It won't be leveled out front
to back because you'll have to do that with the jack on the front. So basically you're just looking
for it to be level you know left to right. And bingo just like that. Not too bad. Back up just a
little bit. Wait until it levels out and then I'm done. Well not done completely but at least I've
got it level left to right and I'll stabilize it from here on out. Now I've got the campsite or the
trailer perfectly leveled. Now it's time to basically stabilize and to do that there are
a couple of steps I take. So the first one is I've got my automatic stabilizers here. Stabilizing
jacks. If I can figure out how to actually work key here. There we go. And then I've got my front
and back stabilizers. I've labeled them so I know which one is which.
Tend to be OCD when it comes to stuff like that. And basically
they'll say as you can see retract extend. So I'll extend.
Yes they're noisy. Yes I know I have to lubricate them.
They still work. And let me get down and show you. This is what they look like when they're
deployed. I've got some snap pads on there as well. Huge fan of the snap pads by the way.
There you go. Again now if you don't have these snap pads right here it would be one of my
favorite RV items for sure. If you can fit them on your stabilizing jacks. We'll include a link
in the description with referral code. I think we have a referral code to get you guys a discount.
So I'll make sure to include that as well. Help you all out. Now the very last step I take to
stabilize the RV that doesn't really like budge when you're walking around is I use these x-shocks
here. And I will put those right here as so. And that's pretty much it. After I do this it's pretty
much uh got the power set up. The water's on now. I'm not going to hook up the sewer right now
because I just don't feel like it. Honestly I'll probably do that later. Um and that's it. Then
we're ready to uh enjoy a margarita or something or just hang out. It's the weather is perfect.
It is so perfect today. It's been a little chilly in Florida. Um we've had the equivalent of a
Florida blizzard which means it you know drops below 60. Um but I think everybody survived that
so maybe uh I survived a Florida blizzard shirt is in the works. But um beyond that
we're set up. I think it's time to roll.
Or not roll. All right baby Dash we don't want to roll anymore.
All right baby Dash. How do you rate daddy's setup? That great huh? What do you think?
Say good job daddy. Say I'm on a mission to walk. Yeah. I'm officially done setting up the campsite
and I figured I'd give you a tour. So behind me my killer hammock. Yes last time I was here it
tried to kill me. I've got the grass area here. A couple chairs. A couple chairs and a table over
there. Got my picnic table cover here with with a plant. Probably the only plant we've never killed
because it's fake. Yeah and then we come over here we've got our grill area over here.
Blam right. Put a little table over here because I plan on doing some grilling this weekend. I
always say that. I always set it up. I never actually do it but we'll see what happens this
weekend. A couple of bikes over here. My complete setup like we talked about. Chalks. X Chalks.
Chalks. Chalks for days. Yeah here we go. Around the other side here. Got my water hookup.
Power. I think one of the nice things about this place is that like there's just a lot of thought
and care into how everything's set up here. Um for instance the water setup. Sometimes
these like little spigots are like down here and you're like how the heck am I going to hook
anything up to that because it's so close to the ground and you want to put your water
pressure regulator you know this thing right here on and you have a hard time because it's just so
low to the ground. So I'm not saying that happens at every campground but definitely happens if you
travel the country. You find some odd things and some campgrounds that were just built you know
40, 50, 60 years ago that are still using some of the same electrical wiring and setups that they
had from the original days. So yeah that's it. There's my box oh dirty that I have not touched
yet. I will definitely do that. It ain't happening today. Daddy Sherpa's tired and ready to take a
break. I'm gonna walk in here and see what Lauren is up to. Let's see what's happening inside.
Here we go. What you doing? Oh hi. I'm making tacos. Tacos. Well everybody loves tacos and
it's a very very easy quick lunch. Nice. Taco. What day of the week is it?
This is what happens when you travel full-time. You forget what day of the week it is.
It's not Tuesday so it's not taco Tuesday. It's taco whatever day today is. There you go. So
there you go baby Dash. He's super excited. Right Dash? Right? What do you think about tacos? Do you
like tacos? Yeah? You like tacos with nachos? Nacho cheese? And maybe some blueberries? You
like blueberries? Yeah? Big fan? What else do you like? Everything. He likes everything. Yeah so
basically Dash likes tacos with everything. Yep. Ooh la la. That looks a little bit like dog food
but we'll just skip right over that right over there. A little holy guacamole action there. Some
cheese. Some olive oil. Some fancy seitan that we order online from a place out of Nashville.
Yeah I was gonna say those red crab veins like look really good. They do. They look like it looks
like dog food. I mean legitimately when you take it out of there that looks like dog food. Like
no difference but it is delicious. All right taco secured and baby Dash has got some refried
beans because we are currently at the I lose my you know what stage if you're eating and not feeding
me. What mommy means is that you get hangry like she gets hangry and that is definitely a genetic
thing because daddy doesn't have that. Daddy can like forget to eat for a whole day but if mommy
forgets to eat she goes like bananas and so do you. Yeah who knew hangry was a genetic thing?
Dash what do you think about that? Say I can't talk to you right now mommy. I'm eating.
Excellent job. I think that's right here. Five out of five flamingos.
Dash do you want some cheese?
Your mommy got it on your face. I'm sorry. Good work dude. How do you feel about this dad?
Um my OCD brain can't handle it but because of Dash you can get away with it. He's finger
painting with beans. Do you love it so much little man? Finger painting. Oh yeah. First artwork art
project. All right we added a new color to the palette guacamole green. Oh yeah. Okay dude you
ready for some YouTube magic? All right there really isn't much YouTube magic about this
um because he's already closed but baby Dash isn't covered in beans anymore. Ready? He's clean.
Thanks dad. YouTube magic in a daily vlog. You're clean.
You're clean. You have a new outfit on. Little Elmo.
All right RV travel day complete. What do you have to say for yourself Mr. Fernandez?
I think that um my setup on point. Give it five out of five. Those darn bikes still down to like
two to three out of five. They're amazing bikes. Killer hammock is out so if I get injured again
I had it coming. Yeah just ready to relax and have some fun. All right well there you have it folks.
If you haven't had a chance yet make sure you wander local this week because as you know
it's good for the soul. Until next time y'all.
