How we all doing out there? I hope you're all spot on and thanks for watching the video.
Now I've been shopping. I've been to Asda. Come and have a look what I got. I was in Asda and
I came across this. I noticed it was new. The Bistro. Sausage and buttery mash. Pork sausages
with buttery mashed potato and a serving of caramelised onion gravy. Serves one by Asda.
So the price. It was four pounds. Everything's around about four pounds lately isn't it?
I wish it was cheaper. It ain't going to be I'm afraid. Anyway let's take a closer look
at the packaging. So we've had a quick look at the front. I'll just get it open.
There we are. That's what you get. Look at them sausages. They don't look great do they?
That looks like a rabbit hat doesn't it? There's its nose. Just need to stick some eyes. There's
its ears. Or is that just me? No them sausages don't look great do they? Four quid! Four quid!
Anyway let's go round the back. It says lovingly created from our kitchen to yours.
Pork sausages. Got some spiel in an onion and ale gravy with mashed potato.
They are the ingredients. We've got potatoes 39%. Caramelised sausages at 27%.
And the pork content is 77%. So the allergens are milk and barley in there by the look of that.
Yeah there they all go down there. There's loads of ingredients. Cooking instructions. Remove
sleeve and pierce film lid several times. You can do it in the microwave or you can do it in the
oven. It's up to you. It really is up to you. Do not eat raw. That's always a good idea. Fully cook
before eating. Czech product is piping hot. Before serving do not reheat. Yeah got some
storage instructions. It's suitable for freezing. May also contain fish, crustaceans, mollusk,
soya, wheat, rye, oats, spelt, kamut. What's that? Kamut? Celery and mustard. Yes I'll have
to google that. Kamut warning. Contains alcohol. Yeah but I wouldn't worry too much about the
alcohol. I would imagine it's all burnt off by the time you eat it. More nutritional information
there. It's 400 grams. It does serve one. Packed in the UK with a GB sticker. A little bit of
recycling information there. Right I think I might have covered everything. If I do miss anything out
it'll all go in the description of the video. What's on the back of here? We've got some other
stuff here. I had my stuff out there. You can have a read of that if you want. That sort of
glorifies it and makes it sound really good doesn't it if you read that. Yeah best served
with a bright medium bodied red wine such as Pinot. I think I said it right. Pinot. Pinot
Noir is it or Coates de Rhone. Coates de Rhone. Yeah I told you British pork. That's great isn't it.
Looks nicer there doesn't it. And they're from our kitchen to yours and we've also got a little
traffic light system there for nutrition. Yeah it's new. Anyway let's get it open and see what
we have got. Oh you can see what we've got. You know what I mean. So the big debate is where do I
do it? Do I do it in the microwave or do I do it in the oven? Now I think in the oven the sausages
would benefit from the oven and the gravy. Might dry the gravy out a bit. The mash would that
benefit from the oven? I don't think it would. Microwaved sausages aren't great in the microwave
are they? I mean it's up to you. Depends what you've got. Have you got an oven, a microwave?
Whatever you want you do it however you want to do it. I'm still trying to wonder how I'm going
to do mine. What's that there? Well it says as the sausage and mash there contains milk and barley
the allergens are on there. So normally when I do these ready meals I normally do them in the
microwave. Now this one I'm going to do in the oven to see what the difference is and to see
you know I just fancy my sausages done in the oven. I have pierced the film lid only a couple of
maybe what how many four or five times and it's going in the oven like that. 170 degrees. I know
you're warming it up aren't you? That's all you're doing for 25 minutes and we'll just see how it
goes. They're quite handy these ovens because I used it to warm my plates up. I got these in
Asda and I got this off Amazon. It's a Sage multi cooker with an air fryer. It's done. It's smelling,
it is smelling really good. It really is smelling good. We need to do a seal peel test. I think I'm
quite happy that I did it in the oven judging by the looks of it. So let's see if we can get it
open. Oh no. Oh no. It's failed it's seal peel test. Oh I won't be sleeping tonight.
Anyway let's get a knife and get into it. Correction. Scissors. So it's failed it's seal
peel test. Never mind. I'll just get that off now like that. Oh it's smelling really good.
It's smelling quite sweet. Yeah I thought with it doing in the oven them sausages. I'll bring
you down. Sorry I won't take you to the food. I'll bring you to the food. Them sausages look a lot
better now. They look a lot better. You could just eat it out of the bowl if you want. But yeah
them sausages are looking better. So I've got a plate. I have warmed it up and I'm going to get
it on a plate and we'll see what it's like. I'll do that right now. I'll try not to edit
stuff out really unless it's really necessary. So what I'll do I'll get these out like that.
I'll get the mash out. I have ruined the mash by using like that but yeah. I mean these plates
are huge by the way. They are massive these plates. And I'll just get the sausage. Plenty
of gravy in there. So that's good. I do like a lot of gravy. Oh I can smell it. It's smelling.
You can. Yeah it's smelling sweet. It is. I'll put that to one side. I'll put that to one side
and I'll show you obviously. You know some veg on the other side of the plate.
Because these are huge plates. I'd probably say they're 12 inches across. So I'll get a sausage
there. I think those are 70. I'll just cut it right down that way. We'll have a look at the
sausage. I'll show you inside the sausage. I think in the microwave you do sausages.
Everything gets sweaty doesn't it in the microwave. No one wants a sweaty sausage.
That's inside. Is it focusing? Focusing on the background rather than on that.
Yeah it looks like there's a few herbs in the sausage. And there's your buttery mash.
Plenty of gravy on there. Plenty of onion. Oh it's going to be windy later with that onion.
It's going to be windy. Oh I don't mean outside neither. You know what I mean don't you.
You know what I mean. Right I'll tell you what. I'll get a bit of sausage, a bit of gravy,
a bit of onion and we'll go from there. So there it is. Now I'd like to just go back to the last
video I done. And I did mention about. I got a message from YouTube saying that lots of people
watch me on the big telly, on the big TV in their front room. And I did mention on that video that
you can't subscribe or you can't give the video a thumbs up. What I meant to say was if you're not
signed in. I did get a little bit confused. I meant if you're not signed in. So if you are,
if you do watch me on the big telly. Get your mobile device open or your mobile phone. Get on
my page and hit that subscribe button. That would be absolutely fantastic. And let's see if we can
get that. I think it was 60 percent watch me on the big telly. Who are not subscribed. That's what
I meant to say. We're not subscribed. So anyway I hope that clears. That's as clear as mud.
So let's try that. Mmm. Oh that's not bad. That's not bad. Let's have a look. Quite.
Them onions are quite big there. Mmm. It is quite sweet. That gravy is quite sweet.
But it is tasty. Oh it is tasty. I mean the buttery mash is very it's very sort of very
finely piped on there. If you know what I mean. No big bits of potato. But when you cover it in
the gravy. You can't really say oh that's full of butter. If you know what I mean. Mmm. But it is
tasty mine. Gravy is lovely. Let's try a sausage without anything on it. Mmm. There are a few herbs
in there. But it's lovely. I know there's not a lot for four quid. Stick a load of peas on there.
Maybe some carrots. Load of bread and butter. Mop that gravy up. And I think you're laughing.
It's well seasoned. Yeah. It's tasty. It is tasty. Mmm. Always carry a napkin in my back
pocket when I'm reviewing. Don't worry I don't always carry a napkin in my back pocket.
It's quite tasty. It is. It is. I like it. The mash is lovely and soft. The gravy is lovely.
It would be nice if there was a little bit more. Maybe a little bit more mash. There's loads of
gravy. It's not very. It's not dry at all. But yeah it's tasty. It's tasty. It's probably an
eight out of ten. Probably an eight out of ten. I know that they go down the line with this bistro
and all that. Bistro. Quite a posh word isn't it? Well it is for me. We're all different.
So thanks very much for watching. I hope this microphone's alright. Got a new microphone and
I hope it's giving you good sound. I do know that if I do that there it picks up a bit of noise.
That probably will. Just testing. I can't obviously hear it till I edit it back.
And I was quite conscious about me eating. I don't want to be going
because it amplifies the sound if you know what I mean. I think these microphones may be a good
if you're outside. I'm in here. So I might just go back to my old microphone on my phone
for when I'm inside. We'll see. Comments are always great. You could let us know what you think.
Yeah. Thanks very much for watching and like I said if you're on the big telly
and you're not subscribed then get your mobile out or sign in and hit the subscribe button.
Does help. Helps the channel. Yeah. Going forward. So thanks very much for everything
and I'll get back to you on the next one.
