hey guys it's djb and I've never done
this before but I'm going to try and
attempt to do something new for the
first time this is a new mic set that
I'm trying out for the first time so
hopefully the audio is okay we're
learning we're figuring it out still and
I'm working on a wide lens that I
recently got too it's 2025 and it's
January and honestly I've not been doing
very well life is fine everything's fine
it's just been a little circumstantial
for sure I'm going for surgery at the
end of the month to have my wisdom teeth
removed but I've had to do that in two
parts so my tooth infected and was
excruciating so I was out of work for
like a week dealing with that and then
the dentist pulled that tooth and then I
was out for another week healing from
that and now I'm like I'd say 80% healed
I still have a giant hole in my head but
I'm scheduled for the other three to be
removed at the end of the month and they
were all supposed to be removed at the
same time but now we've extended that
recovery into like 3 to four weeks time
so I'm I'm frustrated I don't like
missing work it's not also very fun to
have your teeth removed so that's been a
whole thing the last like 7 months
probably have also been kind of
emotional there was some stuff that
happened in my personal life but I'm
okay I'm better now and I'm on that like
new year new me new kick and I'd like to
do more videos where it feels a little
more personal and it feels a little more
like we're here together hanging out so
I filmed my Q&A earlier today but my
studio is disgusting and I need to clean
things so they feel clean and fresh and
new I thought that it would be fun to
film that process with you and take you
along show you my studio a little more
because I feel like we film here but we
don't really like see it in action it's
in action let me tell you it is in
action however it is 12:00 currently and
then I have a commitment at 3 p.m. so I
have 3 hours to clean this mess up
because it is unrealistically terrifying
it might just be boring it might just be
me literally cleaning I don't know if
that's interesting or not let me know in
the comments if like this is interesting
I mean I feel like I already know I feel
like in the comments you're going to be
like okay Darren we get it you live a
model horse life but can you please just
make tutorials on painting and sculpting
and I'm like how about this how about
this how about this how about this but I
do feel like I still want some like
varied content here so I don't want it
to just all be painting and sculpting
and tutorials all the time I still want
it to be real and raw and fun I'm very
excited about these mics I think these
would be really cool to take to
brierfest because they also plug into my
phone

of stuff happening here so first thing I
want to show you though
so you see that over there I will take
you with me I will take you over there
so you can see you see this this used to
be where my sta mates lived I took them
all down because they continued to
skydive off of this shelf and I don't
know like you can't see but my whole
studio is carpet until like right here
so like where these briers end is where
the carpet ends and I did that on
purpose because I was like if these
Domino they're just going to fall on the
carpet or my several thousands of
dollars of resin and paint work over
there but they're going to fall roughly
onto the carpet it won't be as tragic as
falling onto the tile so for whatever
reason in my brain I started collecting
stable mates like a couple months ago as
well uh I will just say that like
probably six months ago I had zero
stable mates I currently have 200 you
have a problem I don't have a problem
and I was so proud of myself for putting
these shelves up and I didn't document
the process or anything but I was so
proud of myself for doing it they looked
great and the horses looked great on
them but I literally have not been able
to sleep because I'm thinking about
these stable mates propelling off of the
shelf and they did believe me they did
I've broken like three and not all of my
stable mates are just like Blind Bag
Walmart stable mates no I'm picky so I
buy the really expensive Collector Club
ones and exclusive ones that you can't
find and cost a significant amount of
money so I don't want them falling on
the tile floor and shattering every six
weeks I cleared the Shelf off by myself
the other day in a rage because I was
scared but I ordered like a unit to go
in here instead and it's going to have
glass doors so I'll probably film when I
get that and like take you along for
that ride but I've been like madly
rearranging briers and like weeding out
some of the ones I don't need need all
of these are a need obviously I need all
of those you can see my painting

though I'm so attached I'm too easily
attached my husband came down here the
other day and he asked me Darren do you
ever just
go yeah that's enough horses and I
genuinely don't think my brain can do
that we're working with a lot over here
the biggest
thing that I've noticed is like
this like so much junk and and dust and
Chaos so I don't know I'm just going to
start in this section I think and do my
best to clean everything up and we'll
just like time lapse our way through
this I'm going to put in airpods and
listen to some music so I don't get
entirely bored but you'll still be able
to hear me and I'll still be able to
talk with these in because they're
magical I don't even know where to start
it's so bad I kind of feel like I want
to start in that side but like all these
boxes are just in the
way the bane of my entire existence all
the time consistently every single day
is boxes and bubble wrap there's an
exorbitant amount of dust that's
accumulated over here cuz I'm not
supposed to stand down here
but I do because I hate myself
everything down here needs to be taken
off shelves and like dusted like
actually Pro tip is to soar your super
glue standing upright because if you
store it sideways it like comes out the
tip and then like fuses to the lid so if
you actually just store it standing it
lasts a lot longer

so these horses are all waiting progress
and are in too good of condition to just
throw in the bin I have a lot and I
honestly feel like I need to inventory
like majorly and figure out what exactly
I truly need and don't need because
there's a lot I'm just keeping them for
the sake of keeping them but it is hard
to find models at decent pricing so now
let's tackle the paint corner

so a little while ago I purchased this
glass desk and it has been lifechanging
ever since it cleans up super easily
with a little bit of glass cleaner and a
razor blade

this is why you don't leave things till
like the last minute almost 2:30 so I'm
going to have to leave pretty soon I
don't know that I'm going to finish
everything in
time so here's some paintings I did this
was a saradine study so I did not Design
This I directly copied it I'm saying
that I directly copied it it's someone
else's artwork but it was to
practice and then I created this which I
hate and then I created this which I
love and then I created this that is
just okay and then I created this which
I absolutely love and these are all
originals but the first one wasn't so
sometimes you have to teach yourself you
have to learn in the first go around
it's looking much
cleaner very very clean the cleanest
it's probably been in a while actually
some of this needs to go
downstairs oh my gosh what is happening
I made this in a pottery class and I
literally don't know what to do with it
I have nowhere for it to go it needs to
hold

something so I was was displaying my
ethereal horses on their bases for a
little while but I
realized that they were just taking up
too much room and it wasn't that cool so
I'm just going to store them from now on
it was an a for effort that's why you
keep all this packing
stuff CU you can pack it right
up it's a lot of boxes to go outside but
this closet is like the bane of my
existence it's horrifying I
know it's

scary this is a closet that's like out
of sign out of sight out of mind kind of
thing because if I let it be more than
that it'll just consume my brain space
the computer station we also have to do
so you can see everything has a place it
just gets a little crazy sometimes this
is how this is supposed to be so that I
can film things with

it so I pretty much have to get ready to
go at this point so we are not done not
even really close to being done to be
honest with you so 3 hours was not
enough time it's actually like 2 and 1
half cuz I had to eat I hope to not be
gone for too too long I'm going to a
little talk it's a university that's
coming in they have as part of their
Department of bunch of technology and
different things for fabrication design
and printing like 3D printing so I'm
trying to find someone that can scan my
sculptures that's my biggest thing and
there's like a local company that I've
tried to work with but they don't quite
have it figured out yet and I'm thinking
that this company may offer something
better so I'm going to go in person and
talk to them and see if there's anything
they can do so I'll keep you updated
because that would be really exciting um
some stuff that I've worked on in the
past and just worked on in general they
would be a driving distance away so I
got back from the talk not sure they'll
be able to do scans for me but it's
something to look into I have a contact
so it's always good to get out there and
figure some of that out and so now I'm
going to tackle my computer

bathroom here it gets really gross we're
just going to come in here and clean it
a little clean it up a little bit what's
funny is this whole video I've been
filming all of my secrets are behind
this door on the floor so wouldn't you
like to know what's back there

so it is now 8:00 p.m. I'm exhausted but
everything is done everything is clean
it's like a perfect reset to just kind
of re-evaluate everything and like
actually be able to work it was feeling
a little overwhelming I get really
overwhelmed in that state where things
are crazy so this was much needed thank
