This is the breaking news I shared with you just before we went to commercial break.
Canada's Prime Minister Justin Trudeau saying moments ago on X, President Trump's proposed
tariffs will be paused for at least 30 days for his country, Trudeau wrote in part.
Canada is making new commitments to appoint a fentanyl czar.
We will list cartels as terrorists, ensure 24-7 eyes on the border, launch a Canada-U.S.
Joint Strike Force to combat organized crime, fentanyl, and money laundering.
I've also signed a new intelligence directive on organized crime and fentanyl, and we will
be backing it with $200 million.
We are waiting to see what the White House says about this.
Those tariffs against Mexico and China are all set to go into effect in just a matter
of hours until President Trump announced a pause.
Here's the latest.
The president agreeing earlier today to a 30-day pause in the tariffs against Mexico
and Canada.
However, that 10% tariff ordered on China is still set to go into effect tomorrow.
You know, we could have ended up having a possible trade war with Mexico and Canada
starting at midnight.
But last minute phone calls today with President Trump ended with Trump getting exactly what
he wanted.
Ended with Trump getting exactly what he wanted.
More border security to stem the flow of fentanyl and illegal migrants.
We're not treated well by Canada, and we have to be treated well.
So just hours before President Trump's threatened 25% tariff on Canadian goods was set to go
into effect, Canada agreed to Trump's demands.
The president using economic pressure on both Canada and Mexico to crack down on the flow
of fentanyl and illegal migrants into the U.S.
Right now, it's certainly getting people to move.
After his phone call with President Trump, Canada's Prime Minister Justin Trudeau posting
on X that Canada is making new commitments to appoint a fentanyl czar, will list drug
cartels as terrorists, and launch a Canada-U.S. joint strike force to combat organized crime,
fentanyl, and money laundering.
Earlier in the day, Mexico's president agreed to deploy 10,000 members of its National Guard
to the border in exchange for postponing the threatened tariffs for at least 30 days.
Political analyst David Birdsell says Trump's strategy is getting results.
It appears to be working, and Mexico is getting something out of it too.
One of the components of this agreement is the president's agreement to try to use U.S.
law enforcement to stop the flow of weapons into Mexico from the United States, which
is one of the major ways that the cartels get their semi-automatic and automatic weapons.
During the 30-day pause, the Trump administration will be working to negotiate better trade
deals with Mexico and Canada.
Now the president has also threatened China with a 10% tariff on all goods, which is scheduled
to still take effect at midnight.
President Trump, though, is expected to speak with China's president at some point this
week.
And President Trump reacting on truth.
He says this.
Canada has agreed to ensure we have a secure northern border and to finally end the deadly
storage of drugs like fentanyl that have been pouring into our country, killing hundreds
of thousands of Americans while destroying their families and communities all across
our country.
That follows the other big win for President Trump.
That was that pausing 25% tariffs on Mexico for one month as well.
This is after Mexico's president agreed to reinforce its northern southern border with
10,000 National Guard members with the goal of stemming the flow of illegal drugs.
Here's President Trump earlier.
Is there any chance that Canada or China could also get out of the tariffs after you start
the deal with Mexico?
Well, nobody's out.
I can't tell you what's going to happen.
Is there any reason that he could agree to, to change their mind on the tariffs?
Well, we can always look what I'd like to see Canada become our 51st state.
Nobody can compete with us because we're the pot of gold.
But if we don't keep winning and keep doing well, we won't be the pot of gold.
And then tariffs won't be so good for us.
But when you're the pot of gold, the tariffs are the tariffs are very good.
They're very powerful.
It's going with that beer.
Most of it Corona here comes from Mexico.
It's going to affect your guac because what is guacamole made of avocados, both from Mexico.
We might want to call this the Donald Trump Super Bowl tax, avocados, tomatoes, beer from
Mexico.
Price is going to go up.
But the average American family is going to have their costs increased by $1,200 for
one year.
Right.
I don't think that the Democrats complaining about egg prices is going to work.
They didn't care about egg prices for four years.
Well, they don't have a lot to go on at this point.
I always enjoy a good prop comedian with Chuck Schumer trying to prove his point with avocados
and Corona.
That was the first time I saw it.
But he should commit to the bit.
You know, if he's going to say this is what you're going to miss from Mexico, he should
have been had explosive diarrhea just to show you everything you're going to miss.
Every Monday you get the question from hair and makeup.
How was your weekend?
You know, you watch the game.
Did you go apple picking, Harold?
Did you finally throw out that old futon, Jesse?
Imagine asking Trump that question.
So how was your weekend?
Well, I got Venezuela to release the hostages.
Panama agreed to get China out of its business.
Mexico agreed to the border issues.
Canada folded.
Colombia caved.
I got rid of USAID, kicked out 51 Intel liars, fired DOJ deep staters, and I got Canada to
punch itself in the face.
So how was your weekend?
So this is a requiem.
Is that the right word?
I don't know.
You don't even know what I'm going to say.
Don't listen to me.
It's a requiem for people who work on the weekends.
You know, the guy that comes in when no one else is there.
He's got a big mug of coffee, decides to check his email.
Government doesn't work on the weekends.
Elon Musk trumped it.
The statement, the early bird gets the worm.
It's the early bird that works weekend gets more worms than a bait shot.
So everything is happening so fast, which I love.
I read somewhere that stenographers can't keep up with Trump.
You know, when Biden was in office, the stenographer would actually run personal errands between
his thoughts.
So everything is faster.
Everything is faster.
Trump 2.0 versus the previous administration is like a smart phone versus a Commodore 64.
And it's understandable and it's cohesive because every single action succeeds from
a fidelity to principle.
America first.
People get that.
And the one in charge is known not to bluff.
So you put those two things together and the world is your oyster.
But unfortunately, Democrats, they've got a seafood allergy.
They couldn't get anything done.
So now you learn the lesson of the big deep state is to be fast and agile because that's
the only way you outrun a blob.
The question is, was this always possible?
You know, were the previous administrations keeping the golden age from us?
And did Trump just release the dam literally in California?
They didn't leave the world because I've never seen so many people say, no, you can't do
that.
And then say, yes, right away, sir.
I was wrong when I said that he would complete his presidency in three months.
It's now two months and it'll be under budget.
Thank you for watching.
