Public Health, the art and science of preventing disease, promoting health and an organization of
health services. I wanted to focus on health problems worldwide, hence my master's has given
a lens to the ways to prevent the health diseases, promoting health not just at the individual level
but also within the community. It has also helped me to enhance my ability in health policies and
advocate and I believe that will bring a social justice in the community as well.
University gave me an opportunity to work as a research assistant at Unit of
Medicine and Public Health at John Hunter Hospital. I enjoyed assisting with research by data collection
and compilation and I believe my master's has taught me a lot about writing grants and ethics.
Throughout my studies I was immersed myself with the subjects from biostats and epidemiology to
health policy and health laws. I've been also able to study psychology during my master's and I think
it is really helping me in my ongoing job as well. Master's of Public Health can give you an opportunity
for credit transfer for your future, another degree if you're planning, for example,
master's in clinical epidemiology and master's in medical statistics. The reason I chose Newcastle,
it is very much renowned for its research and teaching. The university attracts a lot of
students around the world and Australia, contributing to the city's vibrance and diversity.
I highly recommend University of Newcastle and doing Master's of Public Health as it will
enhance your research capabilities and it will help you to understand the health system.
Special thanks to Dr Tanmay who has been helping me to get a better job opportunities
and he has also helped me and motivated for a better, clearer vision.
