okay and now for our 10 up and coming
countries starting with number 10 El
Salvador all right you're probably
thinking we're crazy right now but
please just hear us out in terms of
healthcare CEO world has El Salvador
ranked 110 so not very good for that for
the Global Peace Index they're ranked
number7 however we think this is a bit
of an unfair ranking because they
haven't taken into account the safety
improvements at El Salvador has seen in
recent years the state department has
them rated a level two travel advisory
which means increased caution so for
reference that's the same as Spain and
France are rated why is El Salvador up
and coming well the government is
actively promoting the country to expass
and entrepreneurs especially through its
cryptocurrency initiatives yeah it was
the first country in the world to
recognize Bitcoin as legal tender back
in 20121 that led to a 95% increase in
tourism since then the official currency
is actually the US dollar yes which
makes it easy for us people coming from
the us because we don't have to do that
conversion yeah it's been the US dollar
since 200 and one so it's not even a new
thing the safety has increased a lot
since president bu took office in 2019
it used to be the most dangerous country
in the world that was between 2015 and
2017 but the homicide rate dropped 70%
between 2022 and 2023 and now El
Salvador has one of the lowest homicide
rates in Latin America the country is
known for its natural beauty volcanoes
I'm not sure anybody wants to go see a
volcano but they are pretty to look at
from a distance they have coffee
plantations it's known as a surface
paradise and they have these delicious
pusas which is a traditional Salvadorian
dish it's a thick stuffed griddle cake
or flatbread some of the popular cities
are s Salvador which is the capital city
and it's known for its modern amenities
it's got international schools
co-working spaces and it's really
growing in popularity with digital
Nomads Santa Ana is known for its
Colonial charm it's lower cost of living
hiking the coffee plantations and
cultural sites elante AKA Bitcoin Beach
is a surfing me and the Catalyst that
led to bitcoin being adopted as legal
tender in El Salvador after an anonymous
American donated $100,000 worth of
bitcoin to that area you can go to visit
El Salvador with a 90-day tourist visa
but if you want to move there
permanently they do have a retirement or
a pension Visa they have a digital Nomad
visa and a passive income Visa so you
have some good options number nine on
the list is Sri Lanka it's ranked number
105 by CEO world for healthcare number
100 on the Global Peace Index it's
actually tied with Georgia the country a
level two travel advisory which again
same as France and Spain Sri Lanka had
an economic crisis a couple years ago
but they are recovering now and the
country is gaining a lot of attention as
a digital Nomad and expat destination
due to its affordability its growing
infrastructure for remote work and there
are more English speakers in the urban
and tourist areas it's generally safe
for tourists and foreign residents and
solo Travelers and it's often called the
pearl of the Indian Ocean it has
beautiful beaches and worldclass surfing
it's known for its tea plantations and
its Wildlife safaries which sound really
incredible to me you can go there and
see elephants leopards primates sloth
bears and crocodiles which are kind of
scary but from a distance I guess I
would be okay they're also famous for
their train rides through the country
it's home to a sacred fig tree that was
planted in 236 BCE that's believed to be
grown from a cutting of the fig tree
that Buddha was sitting under when he
attained Enlightenment at more than
2,300 years old it's the oldest living
human planted tree in the world with a
known planting date that is like the
coolest thing that is pretty amazing
popular cities for expat include the
capital city of Columbo which is on the
coast you've got candy which is a
Hilltown known for its cooler climate
and it's close to the tea plantations
and Gale which is also a coastal city
with Colonial architecture and a more
laid-back lifestyle they have a 30-day e
visa and you can apply ahead of time for
that or get it on arrival at a kiosk
they have a retirement or my dream home
Visa an investor golden Paradise visa
and a digital Nomad Visa number eight is
Namibia which is located just north of
South Africa it's ranked number 125 for
healthcare by statistica number 62 on
the Global Peace Index which is right
between Costa Rica at 58 and Chile at 64
and it's also a level two travel
advisory same as France and Spain feel
like a broken record ailia it's up and
coming because it is emerging as an
ecotourism and expat hotspot it's
politically stable and it has a
relatively low cost of living the
official language is English which is
really nice for us English speakers
although they do have several other
languages spoken in the country it's
safe for women and considered inclusive
and it's one of Drew beny's favorite
countries if you follow his YouTube
channel most of the country is desert
with iconic sand dunes where you can go
sandboarding which is something I never
thought I would say it also has diverse
Wildlife including its unique desert
adapted elephants and lions but it also
has rugged coastlines and NeverEnding
beaches flanked by desert so you've got
plenty of room to spread out yeah like a
Thousand Mile a
beach Inland so you're not going to be
bumping elbows with anybody popular
cities are wind hook which is the
capital city kind of in the middle of
the country swagan is a coastal town
known for its German Colonial Heritage
and Outdoor Adventures then you have
walvis Bay which is a port City and
that's where the president's links
Estates planned Golf Course Community is
located and it was built to attract
foreign investors that's where you can
buy property to get your investor visa
for Namibia if you don't want to do an
investor visa you could do a 90day
tourist visa a six-month digital Nomad
Visa or a business Visa when we're
exploring a new country we always use a
VPN to keep us safe online and that's
why we're excited to talk about surf
shark today's sponsor we've been
traveling around the world and using
public Wi-Fi in airports airbnbs and all
kinds of public places and we always use
a VPN to protect our privacy Sur trar
secures our data and our identity by
protecting us from hackers Bots
ransomware attacks and fishing scams
plus it has an add in cookies blocker so
we don't have to deal with those
annoying popups and those really
distracting and sometimes irritating ads
surf shark never logs or collects our
data so we feel safe that knowing no one
is tracking us we use the VPN to change
our virtual location because some mobile
apps won't work in different countries
and you might get better pricing for
flight and hotels if you connect to a
different VPN server with surf shark you
get 247 support you can use it on all
your devices and there's no risk to try
because they offer a 30-day money back
guarantee just scan this QR code or go
to Surf shark.com
to get four months extra of surf shark
and now back to our upand cominging list
of countries and number seven is
Paraguay it's ranked number 107 by CEO
world for healthcare and it comes in at
number 74 on the Global Peace Index and
for your reference Cambodia is number 70
and Thailand is number 75 on that index
it's a level one travel advisory which
means exercise normal precautions
Paraguay has low taxes and a territorial
tax system one of the last remaining
countries to have that that means they
don't tax your worldwide income they
have a simple residency process too and
a low cost of living it is a safe
country and easygoing and it's not
overcrowded or over touristed it's a
landlock country in South America but it
does have big rivers and subtropical
forests there is a myth that dueling
with pistols is legal in Paraguay if
both participants are registered blood
donors there is no law to back this up
so please don't go there expecting to
settle your neighborhood disputes this
way moving on to popular cities that is
an interesting myth asion is very
popular with expats it's the capital
city and it's known for its mix of
modern and Colonial architecture another
popular city is incarna which is known
as the pearl of the South which has a
beautiful Riverside prominade and a lot
of different festivals and C deleste is
also popular it's known for its shopping
and it's close to Iguazu Falls if you
want to go check that out they have a
90day tourist visa or VISA free travel
for Americans plus they have a pension
visa and a business Visa number six is
Cambodia it comes in at number 92 by
statistica for healthcare it's ranked
number 70 on the Global Peace Index
between Bolivia at 68 and Paraguay at 73
and it is also a level one travel
advisory we were just in Cambodia and we
can attest to that it is up and coming
it has not been overpopulated yet with
foreigners The Encore complex is still
very popular with tourism but it still
wasn't as bad as some of the other
places we've seen like Rome and Athens
the country is investing in modern
infrastructure and they have a new
international airport in cm reap and
they're building a new one in panan pen
the cost of living in Cambodia is really
low with both affordable housing and
food we felt very safe during our visit
we saw a lot of solo women out walking
around and we did a video from panan pin
that hardly anyone has watched go watch
it it's a great video I'm not sure why
it hasn't been picked up by the
algorithm yet Cambodia is known for
encor wat which is the world's largest
religious Monument according to Guinness
World Records The Encore archaeological
Park spans over 400 square kilometers or
15 154 square miles there are actually
30 to 50 major tourist temples in the
park depending on how deep you want to
explore but there's over a thousand
temples and religious structures if you
count all of them Encore wat is the most
is of course followed by to prom which
is the Tomb Raider Temple where they
filmed that Lura cof Tomb Raider movie
we just had no idea how huge the complex
was I am so glad we went that complex
and all of Cambodia was just fantastic
the people are so nice too I know it's
one of the friendliest countries I think
we've been to yes so if you want to go
explore more of Cambodia popular cities
to visit or to live are CM reap which is
known for its proximity to enor Watt
it's a quieter city with a more laidback
pace and then you have the capital city
of panan pen which is definitely much
more vibrant and Lively and it is still
very affordable CA noville is a coastal
city with a variety of different beaches
to choose from it also has an airport
and there's a lot of islands just off
the coast there and you can take fairies
to those to visit one of the Magnificent
beach resorts they have a 30-day e Visa
which you could apply for ahead of time
online or you can get that on arrival
they also have a pension visa and an
investor visa number five is Uruguay
it's ranked number 63 by CEO world for
healthcare it's number 52 on the Global
Peace Index which puts it between
Argentina and the United Arab Emirates
at 53 it is a level two travel advisory
this country is attracting more expats
due to its political stability its high
quality of life and it also is a
territorial tax country plus they have
other tax incentives it's known as a
safe country with a laid-back lifestyle
it has Progressive social policy SE
excellent wine and beautiful beaches
interestingly enough it became the first
country in the world to give every
primary student a laptop back in 2009 it
was the first country in the world to
legalize cannabis for recreational use
and they claimed to be the creators of
Tango along with Argentina so those two
are dancing the Tango over who is the
actual Creator popular cities are Monte
B which is the capital city and it's the
most popular one with xats it has a real
European feel to it pun deleste is a
coastal Resort city known for its
beaches it has a vibrant night life and
upscale lifestyle it's also popular with
xats and retirees who like to live by
the ocean Colonia do Sacramento is a
historic town with cobblestone streets a
colonial architecture and a relaxed
small town atmosphere you can go visit
Uruguay on a 90-day tourist visa which
you get on arrival they also have
retirement investment and digital Nomad
visas number four is Marius it's ranked
number 81 by statistica for healthcare
number 22 on the Global Peace Index
which it puts it between Germany at 20
and Spain at 23 and it's a level one
travel advisory country has a growing
reputation as a digital Nomad Hub and is
known for its high quality of life it
prioritizes visitor safety and expats
say they feel very safe living there due
to its low level of hostility and crime
and the locals are friendly brous is an
island paradise in the Indian Ocean just
off the coast of Africa it has beautiful
beaches turquoise lagoons coral reefs
and it's a multicultural country with
people from Africa France India and
China living there French and English
are both spoken there but they also
speak Creole which I find fascinating
that's I guess because of the French
influence that makes sense yeah it's a
great diving location they have this
underwater waterfall illusion it's
caused by sand and silk that slide down
the ocean floor and it creates this
illusion of a cascading waterfall under
the sea I think that is so cool some of
the popular cities include Port Lewis
which is the the capital city it's
pretty vibrant and it also has excellent
Health Care Grand Bay is a coastal town
Which is popular because of its beaches
it's Lively nightlife and it's got a
luxury lifestyle if you want something a
little bit calmer you might like fleo
flak which is a Beach Town known for its
laid-back lifestyle its water sports and
its stunning sunsets and it's cool name
I just I'd love to say yeah we live in
flick and Flack flick and Flack fleo
fleo Flack no we're not saying it very
well they have a 60-day tourist visa on
arrival and you can get a premium
independent means visa for retirees and
an investment Visa number three on our
list is Albania the country is ranked
number 53 by CEO world for healthcare
it's number 42 on the Global Peace Index
between Vietnam at 41 and Taiwan at 43
and it is a level two travel advisory
yeah again same as Spain and France I
like to use them as a reference because
everybody thinks oh Spain and France you
know I don't have any issu going there
it's like a dream to go there but
Albania that's scary and dangerous it's
basically the same it's you know
European country it has affordable cost
of living especially by European
standards a growing reputation is a
hidden gym in Europe and we certainly
think it is and it's becoming more
popular with digital Nomads and retirees
as well as European tourists it's a safe
country and the people are generally
accepting we get a lot of comments about
it being a Muslim country but other
religions are represented and everybody
gets along religion just doesn't seem to
be a divice I factor like it is in other
parts of the world we prefer the capital
of toron because it's more developed
than other parts of the country however
the beach cities of duras Vora and S and
samil are also really beautiful and
popular if you want to live in the
mountains you can choose from Villages
like Barat corcha and theth and it has a
lot of ancient archaeological sites that
were left by the Greeks and the Romans
one thing we really like about it is the
culture of taking an evening walk with
the family we saw this all the time
while we were there multi-generational
families out walking in the park at dusk
and even into dark they also have rocky
which is their local alcoholic beverage
sometimes they will have that for
breakfast it's a fruit Brandy which is
50% alcohol so it is quite potent we
tried it it was strong and they think it
cures all illnesses so they just take a
shot in the morning and they're good to
go for the day or at least maybe they
just don't care about the illnesses
after that it was way too strong for me
there's no way but if if you're a go to
Albania I guess you should give it a
shot another interesting fact and
something that you're going to see if
you visit are the
750,000 bunkers that the former
communist dictator made them all build
while he was in power he was convinced
the Americans were going to invade and
so they had to build all of these
bunkers throughout the country and they
have 15 per square mile they're
everywhere everywhere we went in Albania
we saw bunkers popular cities include
the capital city of toron which has an
affordable cost of living a fun Coffee
Culture and we love the big beautiful
Park you've also got dures which is a
coastal city that's close to torana and
it's known for its beaches plus its
Roman and visiting ruins Blora which is
known as the gateway to the Albanian
Riviera which is known for its stunning
Coastline and Mediterranean climate and
if you want to stick to the Northern
Area scotter is a fun place to go we
really enjoyed our time there that is
close to pod Gita in Montenegro it has a
cute little downtown area a huge Lake
and castle ruins as an American we get a
one-year tourist visa on arrival then
you just have to leave for 90 days and
you can go back and get another year
tourist visa plus they have a pension
Visa investor and digital Nomad visas
number two is North Macedonia it ranks
number 48 by CEO world for healthcare
it's ranked number 38 on the Global
Peace Index which is between Montenegro
at 35 and Sweden at 39 and it is a level
one travel advisory this is the first
country in the world to have full access
to wireless Broadband what an
interesting thing that they can claim
that is interesting it is it's
affordable welcoming to foreigners and
it's lesser known compared to its Balkan
neighbors offering a more off-beaten
path experience it's well known for Lake
oid which is the deepest lake in Europe
and estimated to be between 3 and 5
million years old that is a very old
Lake and it also has a lot of other
ancient ruins Scopia is the capital city
and it's a growing International
Community for foreigners orid is is a
pictures Lakeside City it's a UNESCO
world heritage site Bola is a cultural
Hub with a Charming Oldtown and
proximity to the national park they have
a 90-day tourist visa that you get 90
days out of every 180 days so it's like
the shenen Visa they also have
retirement business and investment Visa
options number one on the list is
Bulgaria it's ranked number 41 by CEO
world for Health Care number 26 on the
Global Peace Index putting it between
Spain and Norway and it's a level travel
advisory you've got European living in
Bulgaria without the high price tag and
like the other countries on the list it
is a generally safe country Bulgaria is
famous for its ancient history and some
scientists think that plaff is the
oldest city in Europe dating back 6,000
years it also has beaches and skiing and
just a lot of natural beauty it's known
as the land of roses due to its rose oil
production it's used in lots of
cosmetics and perfumes but it's also
known for its wine and it's one of the
biggest wine exporters in the world and
they celebrate wine Growers day on
February 14th in addition to Valentine's
Day popular cities are the capital
cities of Sophia bosow is another
popular city it's already been well
known as a place to go skiing but it is
really becoming more popular with
digital Nomads Varna is over on the
coast by the Black Sea you can go there
and enjoy a laidback Beach lifestyle
Bulgaria is part of the shenen zone now
so you can go there for 90 days out of
every 180 days but you can't hop around
the other shenen countries anymore like
you used to be able to but they do have
a pensioner a freelancer and an investor
visa if you want to go that route okay
JP which country is the most interesting
to you I think macius is at the top of
my list we've actually had a lot of
people mention it in the comments lately
that we really need to go add it to our
list of places to check out and I have
to agree after doing the research for
this it would be a cool place it's a
little bit difficult to get to it's kind
of far out there which actually might
not be a bad thing in this uncertain
world I've been telling ailia that maybe
we should be looking at an island in the
South Pacific but they're a little bit
too expensive I think we could afford
Macias all right well we could put that
in part of our plan but I'd like to
check out Bulgaria I've been really
interested in this country since I've
done the research a while ago it looks
beautiful I would love to go see the
Black Sea and I'd really like to see all
those ancient ruins all right what do
you guys think let us know in the
comments below if you are going to add
any of these countries to your list of
places to go check out and if you're
interested in the best country to live
or retire abroad then check out these
videos next all right guys that's all we
have for this one thank you so much for
watching and before you go leave us a
like we will see you all next time ciao
