hi I've gotten this question a lot so
today I'm going to answer how to study a
program that is different from your
previous
[Music]
education so there are a lot of people
that want to do programs that have a
high chance of employment in Canada but
unfortunately they did not study
anything that is related to that program
so for example somebody back home might
have done maybe business management or
economics and maybe they are working in
the bank or working as an administrative
officer but they want to come to Canada
to do nursing or to do something in
Health Management or maybe to do
something data analytics anything that
sells they want to do something that
sells so they like sh which program is
selling in Canada that's what they want
to study and I always have to caution
people that it doesn't matter what
program is selling in Canada or as long
as it's not in your background it might
be difficult for you to study that
program however today I'm going to show
you how you can actually study a program
that is different from what you've
studied before yeah make sure you're
watching this video till the end and
you're sharing it because there's lots
of people who have this problem and
would like to know the solution to it
number one thing you need to look into
your background
is there anything that you've done that
is related to the program that you want
to study for example if you want to come
and do health care assistant or Health
Care leadership some people like to do
human resources I don't know why but a
lots of people were asking about human
resources check your background did you
do any voluntary or involuntary work
that's related to this for example some
people are maybe um te teenage teachers
or children teachers in their church and
they've been doing it for a long time so
they know how to handle children those
people can actually come and do
childhood education as long as they can
show proof that they've been a children
teacher over the years in their church
and over the years they've learned how
to take care of children or maybe you've
been volunteering volunteering at a
health care facility in your area maybe
the hospital in your area or maybe
health care facility around you yeah
you've been volunteering you've been
taking care of old people elderly people
you've been taking care of sick people
and you find out that you have a passion
for it and because you have a passion
for it you want to pursue this Passion
by getting Advanced education in Canada
so that you can go back to your country
and actually start this as a career then
you can use that as a rational for
coming to study that program now listen
and pull your ear very well the proof
that you're showing is not just in words
so you're not just saying oh I've been
volunteering at this place or I've been
a a child teacher in my church you're
actually going to show proof so try and
get pictures of yourself doing those
things try and get the organization the
hospital or your church to write you a
reference letter that says that you've
been doing this over the years and
they've seen that you're very passionate
about it it is important that you put
proof and not just say say it or write
it put proof another thing can be
certifications or programs that you've
done luckily for us there's so many
places that you can actually do online
programs these days you can go online
even LinkedIn has an online place or an
online school where you can take
certifications you can take all these
online courses go and take them so if
you wanted to come to do a a health care
assistant or Healthcare program go and
do all those programs do your CPR do
your your Red Cross do all of those
things so you that shows that you're
actually passionate about this thing it
shows that you're actually putting your
resources to try to gain knowledge and
that you just need this extra Advanced
knowledge that you're going to get from
the Canada college or Canada University
to help you seal this career and take
off on this career so make sure that
you're doing that have it as an Arsenal
in your portfolio of proof that you're
going to use to show the Visa officer
one other thing I want to mention is
your research interest so maybe you did
research in your undergraduate that is
related to something that's completely
different from what you're doing now so
maybe you did research in terms of um
Health Care Facilities in your country
or something like that yeah you can use
that to show that you now have you know
picked up the interest your research
interest that you did at that time and
you actually want to pursue your passion
there's nothing wrong with pursuing your
passion yeah it's great because people
in Canada I see them a lot of times they
change courses from this to this to this
because they want to pursue their their
career their passion but you are coming
as an international student and this
officers usually will want to see a
correlation between what you want to
study in Canada and what you've done
previously yeah they want to see that
how however like I said if you can show
all the proof that I have talked about
show that you've done in voluntary or
involuntary work whether it's paid or
not paid it doesn't matter you show
proof in terms of pictures or get
reference letters from your organization
can also get reference letters from
people who work with you so your fellow
teachers in church or people who have
also worked with you in that Healthcare
facility or people who have also in your
office your manager can say oh you have
a passion for HR I've seen that she has
a passion for HR whove sent her PR
trainings I think is an area that she
would actually Excel and do well all of
that is to show a Visa officer that that
is your new line of career that you want
to pursue and you're just just using
this as a means to enter into to Canada
if you've watched up to this point don't
forget to like the video and I want to
encourage you to encourage yourself so
even if you've been wondering how you're
going to show you know why you're coming
to do a program that is different from
something you've done in the past if you
can look into your background like I
said and find any of these things that
can help you to show the Visa officer
that you actually have a genuine reason
and a genuine rationale for coming to
study in Canada I'm sure it will help
how ever however if it is possible for
you to come study something that is in
line with what you studied in the past
or something that's in line with your
career or maybe your business that would
be easier for you to do but then it's
not impossible to study something that's
different from what you studied in the
past so thank you very much for watching
I want to see your comments what do you
think about to this's topic do you have
any other advice or do you have any
other comments that you like to make um
regarding this topic or you have a topic
that you want me to talk about go ahead
and drop it in the comments and I'll
talk to you in the next one bye for now
