While purchasing a bike or purchasing a car, you must have heard about engine cc,
but have you ever think about that what is the meaning of cc?
Commuter bikes are mostly within 150cc to 300cc engine and super bikes are within 900
to 1100cc engine and cars generally start from 1200cc engine but what is this cc?
Till now I have not found anyone who can explaining it in simple language but today
I will explain it to you in such a way that everyone will be able to understand the meaning of cc.
The generic full form of cc is cubic capacity.
Inside this bike, there is an engine and inside the engine, multiple cylinders are used,
some have 1 cylinder or some have 2 cylinders or some have 4 cylinders.
So the main thing is that inside every cylinder there is a part called piston which moves up and
down and due to the movement of this piston, the petrol of the bike burns and the bike
gets power to move forward and this process is called combustion.
So while the piston is moving up and down, the highest point it reaches is called top dead
center.
So a piston keeps moving up and down between top dead center and bottom dead center.
When the piston goes up once and then comes down, this process is called one stroke and
the amount of area covered by this piston in one stroke is called cc, means it is a
piston and the amount of space this piston has to move up and down is called cc, means
essentially the physical space is called cc.
So the larger this space is, the piston can suck the more air inside itself.
As a result more power can be generated by mixing air and fuel.
That's why vehicles with bigger engines have more cc because they have bigger cylinders
and pistons, hence more cc.
For example this is Royal Enfield Classic 350 which has only one cylinder and the cylinder
is 350 cc and here is BMW X1 car which has an engine of 2000 cc and has 4 cylinders,
means one cylinder is of 500 cc but in some cars there is full cc in only one cylinder
and in some cars the cc is distributed in different different cylinders.
But it is true that the more cc a bike has, the more power the bike can generate,
which means it can go faster.
But automobile experts say that there are many other things than the cc which make a
Vickhel best than others.
So we cannot judge a complete Vickhel only by cc because other parts also need to be
efficient and only then a perfect bike or car is made.
But still cc is a very important factor and that is why so many people look at cc before
purchasing a car or bike.
So please tell how many cc bike you have and if you want to buy the right bike for you
