Ready for battle!
The dishwasher battle, that is.
Today I will show you how to load the dishwasher with 52 essential life skills!
Before loading the dishwasher, make sure the dishes are scraped of food and rinsed.
This is a no-go, so we have to take the food off and rinse it.
Make sure to scrub the really sticky stuff off.
Check for items that are not dishwasher safe.
This one's dishwasher safe.
This one is.
This one says hand wash only, so it's not dishwasher safe.
Notice how it also says do not microwave.
Usually the stuff that cannot be microwaved are stuff that cannot go in the dishwasher.
Lastly, make sure to clean the drain with a garbage disposal.
I've always been afraid of a garbage disposal.
But doing this will prevent clogging the dishwasher drain.
It's now time to load the dishwasher.
You load the dishes based on their size and shapes.
Place larger items at the bottom and smaller items at the top.
Let's get started!
I prefer to start with the bottom mat.
Make sure the plates are facing each other at the center.
The big plate should go towards the two ends.
These are called tines and you move them up and down so the dishes can fit inside of them.
We're using bowls so we should put it up.
Make sure the bowls are faced down so water doesn't go inside of them.
Make sure not to overcrowd it so the water can circulate around.
You see the spinner? Make sure the dishes don't get in its way.
Now we load the utensil basket.
And make sure the utensils are faced up so they can get cleaner.
And give them space.
If there are any sharp knives then make sure to put the blade down.
You don't want to get poked or cut.
Now let's play Tetris with the top rack.
Put the glasses between the tiles.
Everything is faced down.
Anything plastic should go to the top rack.
Now the loaded dishwasher is ready to go.
Put in the detergent.
Make sure nothing big is next to the detergent or it'll get jammed.
For the dishwasher I like to use hot water and the drying cycle because I don't want to dry my own dishes.
Loading the dishwasher is like doing a puzzle.
Can you find the perfect spots for your dishes?
