Our final part of our Table Mountain hike brings us to a colony of drosera capensis, and a colony of HUGE drosera aliciae. Finding carnivorous plants in the wild has been a big dream of mine come true, and we will be doing many more of these hikes.

we are now following this trail all the
way down there and we're gonna go to the
river get some water put up our water
bottles and we're gonna see two more
variants of a listeria and I just yeah
and what are the one capensis so this
Alessi a they super super big so you saw
how hot a thin leaf BLS here was but
he's in this year the rock with this big
so it's gonna be super super interesting

hey guys so we've stopped and kind of
got the forest there's a small River
yards not that fast is not that much
water like before but it's quite nice
and cold and shaded we're just sitting
down for the little bits Odin's putting
up his water bottle I'm gonna go up
there's a trail going around right now
going around yeah go to those other two
capensis and Alyssia colonies and then
we should be on a nice big trail all
right almost there
I'm disgustingly dirty covering ash we
started off with a black dog enough you
got a brown dog even Odin's pants are
full of ash you want to have these bugs
they look like they flies but they
looked at bees and they've been biting
me they've been sucking my blood but you
know that bugs have been trying to back
them because they parasitic I guess so
guys we we headed on now and odin spots
at this what is it guys of Cammisa the
same as earlier yaaaa
but it's quite big way nice look at the
size of this thing it's like it's a big
freakin plot that's that's beautiful
yeah how far would you say they'll be
off from the road five six minutes we
got the road
sounds great and it's a nice pause
the puppies are super happy my water
bottle isn't we need a funnel a river
because that other rivers of your
average part stagnant yeah yeah we're
going almost at the bottom and I am so
hungry so I don't know if you guys can
actually see this but some knows some
nice red capensis you can ask
appearances yet look at that or all his
red stuff is offensive nice screen yeah
super sandy super sandy and peachy yeah
that I was just about to say they're
super super sticky this is just this is
almost as sticky as the one I was
telling you about my yeah I'll burp at
the elbow you win it when it's stuck on
it was I could bring my finger like all
the way down here and was still stuck on
yes so these ones are I mean look how
much do they glad you won't get I've
never seen that my cultivated wines
maybe in a rainy day but yeah these are
like almost indoor growing kind of
underlies yeah the only time I'd ever
seen such chewy ones on a cape or was
that capensis I'm telling you about it
was so super sticky check out this this
is that the stem I was you got cut with
the lawn mower at some point but it's
coming back up yeah here is amazing go
the phones inside there guys
rekka Musa it goes all the way back here
yes carvaka pains to of cloner then if
you've seen them I don't know I know
they're large that
okay look it just keeps going I mean I'm
not even at his base so this is all
luggage on my studying pretty straight
80 90 centimeter must be that 50 or
something yes we were just putting up a
water bottles with this clean water look
at this weird marker pencils in my
collection they done flowering by now so
I think it's because we getting so much
this water like here the waters almost
at their level you know they've got
loads of it weighs in cultivation alloys
you got a partner in just a bit at the
bottom so I think it dry that's when
they flower but sooner yeah super nice
so where to next
okay for the moisture narrows right at
where they are it's good to know this
year yeah so we've got another 15 20
months till we get there you always
gotta find that I've missed in the one
time when I was looking at stuff oh it
just got to v-loc a rot
yeah yeah either part small small and
then heck how big these are
Wow and these are shrunken cuz they're
flowering right now but mmm actually
usually even bigger than this so check
you can actually see Odin was telling me
they're old leaves check how water used
to be I mean look at this
yeah this thing compared to a regard
which is this little guy here it's like
a big this is still a decent this is the
normal
Alessi a comedy bit smaller these old
socks that I think yah here we go this
to consider the even see the missing
nothing in there but you can still see
the size and still it's quite dated
that's not it's 2014 sighs this day yeah
you can see the stagnant water they're
keeping the mast moist it long long
roots and this is this to the trail
we're following but the sad thing is
that there they've been mowed so all the
seats have been cuts on these ones at
least are big big guys can spread the 11
progeny tell tiny admirable is but they
they so small yet they got kind of like
skirts under them but they also look
like in this yes I have no clue really
okay is it interesting so we'll get
those up ahead so yeah they massive they
absolutely massive it's in the same yeah
we got like a little bit of a waterfall
nice cooking water and of all this
moisture and Odin was actually showing
me so without hurting the plant you can
lift the bottom here yeah and see these
roots are usually going against the rock
it's almost it's kind of like a tuba I
mean it's technically not yeah basically
yeah leave the plant completely die back
and just be left with just these mmm you
know when to be stochastic zone
that super winter I mean so died out in
someone comes back the winter
yeah so like there's some there's some
dead there's a dead guy like right there
then make the flowers pasture suppose
come back from those roots just like you
said mm-hmm it's a super super nice you
can see how they're growing here just
straight in the moss on top of stone
that's back there super green and
beautiful as you can see this this
waters not the super super puree the
facts of the distilled water for growing
them hey guys so Oden no that was little
patch of these I'm nervous
which one or in the sea a growing su
super super dry on sand yeah but they're
called a skirt which is kind of having a
bliss like yeah very decent skirt for a
little Sun you mm-hmm but at the same
time the leaves just look very delicious
I really say they do you look perfect I
don't know so it's quite a contrasting
thing you know it could just be a super
old admirable Asst Scott yeah I'd rather
stay me do the skirt it could be a super
old uh parabolas maybe here's not one of
the nice skirts yeah yeah pretty cool
sort of many of them have it so they're
just could be super over also look at
the leaves they are and if you look at
some of the older leaves like here you
see that's quite he's quite a this year
like from the base it's not too thick I
don't know you can't there's only enough
leaf circle to see how shiny Oh Harry it
is but
and they're growing all along look
that's even got a nice little skirt
there yeah super interesting I don't
really know maybe because I have to look
at the flowers but you know all the
little red spots of them super super
interesting let us know in the comments
what you think try figure this out sure
admirable I saw this year or this year
I've arrived this or this you know what
do you think
hey guys so just got picked up got home
and I hope you guys enjoy the hawk
and now we were gonna go hacking again
tomorrow but obviously as you guys saw
for my foot I don't think I would be
doing much more walking in the next week
