Hello guys!
Tteokbokki is one of the most popular street food in Korea.
With this easiest and taste guaranteed recipe, you can call yourself a master of tteokbokki.
Trust me and let's start.
For ingredients, it's all you need to make tteokbokki.
Isn't it simple?
It's for one person.
For two people, you can just double up the amount.
Before we start cooking, we need to cut green onion and fish cakes.
For fish cakes, it doesn't taste like fish, so don't worry.
And you can cut it rectangle, triangle, star, whatever you want to cut.
But don't make it too small.
We are only going to use a half piece of green onion.
It's not the best if it's too thick, so I cut it half like this.
And I recommend pinky finger size like this.
Now we all set to make tteokbokki.
Let's dive into cooking.
First put 1 tablespoon of oil and prepare green onions.
It's basically making green onion oil.
Stir fry them at medium high heat until they get golden brown.
I personally love green onion with tteokbokki, so I put at least one whole piece of it.
The more green onion, the better.
Then a cup of water and rice cakes.
When it starts to boil, adjust heat into medium.
Put one and a half tablespoons of sugar.
Put one big spoon of gochujang like this.
Put half tablespoon of gochugaru.
There is fine and coarse gochugaru.
I recommend using fine gochugaru because it makes tteokbokki look much prettier than using
coarse one.
There is not much big difference in taste, so if you can buy or find it, then just use
any gochugaru.
I put extra water.
If it boils out fast, you can just add more water.
On the street, you can see usually halmoni, old woman, stir tteokbokki hours and hours
adding water.
So don't freak out if it boils out, just add water.
Put a half spoon of soy sauce, it should be jin ganjang, which is thick soy sauce.
If you can get this one, it's not that crucial for the taste, so just skip it.
But don't skip it if you have it.
Now we are almost done.
Our last step is put prepared fish cakes and boiled eggs, then stir until the soup gets
sticky.
I put two eggs because it fits so well with tteokbokki sauce.
If you are rich enough to treat yourself with eggs, I strongly recommend it.
Actually I am quite nervous since it's my first video.
I am just a normal Korean guy living in Seoul.

It's all for tteokbokki recipe.
