do you know the sites visited by Queen
Victoria and Charles Dickens have you
heard of bug knuckling or gner green
stay with me let's meet someone who
actually got married there I'm toy what
I enjoy the most about walking are the
connections the knowledge sharing and
the boosted gifts to your mental
physical social and all around Health
this walk around kenelworth Castle was
with Simon whom I met at M church I love
being outside enjoying nature connecting
with people and often I find if you walk
you connect better than just sat
somewhere and if you're not in a pub or
a club or whatever you can hear better I
work at jel I've been to the p district
Lake District C atanta for walks
basically my favorite walk is the T walk
and just walk around some food some bear
along the I met Lecky through the
African Caribbean Heritage Nigerian
Network N I also work for Jr I love
walking probably started doing it more
so since lock down been to Lake District
been big District I was with to last
week in Scotland that was that was
gorgeous and it was beautiful weather
like we have today I met n through the
women on tour organized by
Rich Sab everyone calling me yeah like
my Outdoors like walking uh I've been to
a few walks around the country and
outside the country Madera is beautiful
for walk if you like to go that nice
summer day for a
walk I met Sabin through the emotional
cultural and intelligence team
so I love walking and I've covered most
parts of the UK most counties Yorkshire
Lake District Peak District used do a
lot of mountain B in Peak District grew
up starting to Sola walk in The Lakes
Scotland cycle toward Su Scotland cycle
toward Cumbria kayak in various places
been to Scandinavia Denmark Norway
walking kayak in there madira pen
Portugal lanzerotti I actually like
colder climates to walk in rather than
the heat I like they're making my day by
being
hereit without further Ado let's get
started the end here is the newest
inside you can see a light bul cuz that
was modernized and still have
people3 and it's been redone out in the
furniture of the 1930s and you can go
around it we're not going in we're not
paying but you can if you come back and
visit it so that was reopened um
probably 20 OD years ago 30 years ago
now and my childhood
was so they did it up and they returned
it to the standards of the family that
had it in face game to Heritage it's
famous for particularly two mons Queen
Elizabeth visiting it more than any
other place of the C twice in the
1570s and the garden that's now there
was returned to how it was in the 15th
century so my childhood is to different
and they literally ripped all out wed it
to the original it was demolished as a
castle what walk down into now would
have been a great
B there was a huge Lake right over the
back of this all the way around it was a
substantially protect site you can see
these outer walls here and then you got
the inner keep and the Lord West Tower
that bit there and you'll see where the
steps are that they' M the boats so the
boats would literally be roded across
here and people get out to get into the
castle wow so that's Lord Leer's Tower
and then this is the original castle
with keeps did you know Ken Castle has a
couple of spine tingling stories like
the haunting of dudle star Dudley star
also known as Lester's building is said
to be haunted by the ghost of robot
Dudley the ear of Lester who was a close
friend of Queen Elizabeth I and spent
much time at kenelworth Castle visitors
have reported hearing footsteps Whispers
And even glimpses of a shadowy figure in
the T Legend has it that dly Spirit
still roams the to pining for his Lost
Love Queen Elizabeth the cries of mud m
a seven girl met a tragic end at
kenelworth Castle she fell in love with
a knight who was killed during a
jousting tournament heartbroken M threw
herself from the tar and her anguished
cries are said to echo through the
castle on moonlet nights some visitors
claim to have heard her weeping or felt
a sudden chill near the tower there are
many events that take place at
kenelworth Castle the legendary just at
kenelworth Castle and Elizabethan Garden
is an accelerating spectacle where Four
Knights representing a character from
myth or Legend the Wy the wild man sir
llot and Jason of the agono compete for
honor and glory in a grand medieval
joust in July from 10:00 a.m. to 500
p.m.
you can also enjoy Medieval encampment
dry archery watch falcona and enjoy the
castle
Jester it's usually every
year oh wow which is awesome stalls and
food stalls and music and lasers when is
that it'll be the nearest Saturday to
the 5th of November shop where Queen
Elizabeth had some of her things and it
was a massive forested PL shot off on
the present which basically means
pleasure in the French people and it was
basically a remote site built by Henry
the F so he can go and just get away
from all the pressures and just chill
out it was built with a spur of land
protecting the view from the castle so
the SP of land stuck out and then you
couldn't see the pleasant so when you on
it it was really quite remote Henry was
the one that made multiple way wasn't it
hry was one multip so this is three
henries before that Henry the 5th is the
one that had the famous battle of agic
cour in France and other backles and
reclaimed some of the land back for
England from France because after the
Norther Conquest there were sort of
fluctuations of what was English and
what was the French and you know they
were constantly back in
in plantag and Henry the fth was the
warrior king the back English the te
defeated the French troops and he
started the big castle and that's that
was huge lovely sorts of fish and Wild
for the castle so you going to catch a
fish and shoot wild F table walking up
to
this you see all the reads growing up
where it's wet so all this was flooded
right out they started to drain it it
would have been a massive water
there would have been duts geese and
walk around it and there would have been
fish so back in Meda and cheah times
fish was a massive part of diet and with
the Catholic influence you had very few
days where you could eat meat right so
they ate a lot of fish so we know of
fish on Fridays but in Catholic culture
there would have been fish many times a
week so often the wealthy would build
lakes or pools or ponds which is why so
many big country houses got pools and
ponds in them to have the fish to feed
the people there's still the Little
Brook going through when my dad was a
boy he used to fish this book and I
think actually caught trouting you
wouldn't find that in it now and there's
some CS in the background yeah you want
me
to interestingly the Castle's Rings
gained widespread recognition more than
a century after its condemnation in 1821
Walter Scott novel titled kenelworth
brought renewed attention to this
remarkable
sight is
engage about 6 % of working for are
working parents and with the children on
18 we we can't pleas them then we got
bit of trouble yeah I think they have
this leave that's right six weeks which
is really good from 2026 it will be so
sa is going for the
room
M for the working
par all the best thank you very much
nice FL M the land around here P for a
long time the Pleasants yeah what does
it mean of pleasure pleasure the
Pleasants I don't remember ever being
this wet maybe that's signs of we're
having these
days yes it's a good history yeah it's a
nice that's
do try to get there before Sunrise so
you get on sun and then Sun the list
ring so you standing on the p and you
look at coming off the
see and then it rises up
top up come back look it's really nice
the cave has been used in a
film The
Poli to get married in Scotland have you
heard of that's where s got married
like in Old the days you eloped if you
were not allowed to get married yeah and
in Scotland you can get married I think
at 16 whereas in England you can get
married in 18 so you didn't have to have
parents permission which is why you days
you actually have to give a 28 days
notice I made it for bus so inside it's
got customized for a stes it's got a
pocket when I get a pocket for Compass
Knife Head torch M stes all that and
top so cute it looks like a HB doesn't
it
every hole basically is punched with a
stamping tool first yeah before I then s
through it I've slowly increased my tool
kit and my experience amazing talent
well I love doing it and tal often when
I'm sitting if I'm watching the telling
I can be making things the knitting or
and stuff at the same time I like to
multitask when I
can absolutely really really good walk
there yeah absolutely recommend it it's
open as well so beautiful and in that
was a about take no one said we had a
country house we used to I think it was
about
60 some of the tering look like this so
you better come of your walking boots
cuz even my boots are wet right
now lunch break so so cold because
December and it was really windy day as
well I've done a swim and one of the
swims was actually you had to go
underwater and like your chair felt like
I had brain freeze at that moment and
then you scared of like you're running
over the field but because it was so
windy and all the clothes are wet that
was the first time in my life I thought
I will drop out
people didn't finish but we crossed the
finishing line so I got in a car like
literally put a heating on for about two
hours I was sitting there like I warmed
up and then shakes through I never
experienced anything like
that you literally swim through a b in
you head in the b in particular for
there's a place in Wales kland wed Wales
they do a whole range of the use they
famous M biking but they also do B and
they do man horse bike so you race other
horse or bike as well when I was living
