this is lead within customer care um I
am from Nigeria I'm from AK States so if
you do not know where that is is the
best possible state in Leo in Nigeria
right at the Southwest so that's where
I'm from what does independence dat mean
to
me it's Independence Day always to Every
Nation it's a very special moment but
for me particularly remember as a day
that brings Nigeria together and I
mentioned this because Nigeria has many
different parts and sometimes the people
feel you know that they own their own
their own different
culture um and Nigeria means something
different to them but it's like the one
day where we all come together um
regardless of tribe regardless of
culture come together and they recognize
um that we're all one regardless of any
of anything else
so you were saying something about
pound yeah
pound the best meal in the
world you know so P for like case you
what it is it's it's it's yum yum is a
is this root tuba thing right it grows
underground right but
then Pam then you boil that and then you
pound it
together but then when you mix that with
whatever so preferably a Goosey soup so
highly recommend a Goosey if wherever
you go make sure you ask for a gooy you
have that with P I'm telling you that
there are Parts there there there are
feelings of Joy within you that you have
never felt before that you will feel
there is almost second to none of the
feeling that this meal can give you
highly recommend it wherever you go just
say that you want P I'm telling you that
this will be the start a start of
something new in your life
you will you will be reborn
basically all right so um something
specific about my culture so as you
would imagine actually so Pam is from my
c is is a special food um but I think
one thing that interests me a lot um I
start no this when I got here was um so
usually Nigeria ESP with like the first
points of my culture specifically that's
EUR um us with the first borns we have
we could have as more as 20 something
Nam
you know you it's an endless list of
names and yes I am a first boy yes I
have 20 something names yes do you
remember them I do not remember any of
them I know four of them off the top of
my head I've not B that to remember in
remaining um and yeah I'll probably do
that as well when I have my first kid as
well and do your parents have the list
of the names yeah they have the list I'm
not sure they remember where it is
either they probably just know about
three of my names so yeah um but then
again I think the joy of that is that to
different family members I have
different names with them um which you
know kind of creates his own special
bond with whoever the individual is so
from my grandparents um aunties uncles
things like that so which name did your
grandparents give you um so funny how
they gave me fuo they gave me fuo which
is actually my first name um so but then
my parents gave me Thomson Thomson
That's the whole name um I think if it's
relevant you would it's good to know
that Nigerians we have we hold a lot of
significance to our names we they have a
lot of meaning behind it and I think
they very lovely things so what's the
meaning behind your name um so my name
is Ol thas which is God is enough for me
to worship can very
religious it's very religious driven but
yeah but it's it's it's it's a great
name and I really like that we have that
sense of poetry or beauty in in in
naming
conventions um an influential person
from my culture I would
say um very
fam I really did I really did appreciate
her because she stood up at a time where
you know things were very difficult for
the female gender but it wasn't just
because of that but it was it was almost
an inspiration that we can rise up
against whatever difficulty we face
right and difficulties doesn't
necessarily mean it has to be you
personally that you can empathize with
the next person the next one and you
could also fight for the beliefs or um
you you see them in difficult position
you able
to put yourself in their position to be
able to um you know help them with
realizing a better reality for
themselves right so I really do like
that and I hold that message quite
strongly in everything I do
personally um I'll able to
P so what did you come here for today
and how have you enjoyed it um actually
a friend of mine invited me for this and
this being the a this is the African
Caribbean Heritage dinner yes exactly so
the African
Caribbean um and it's been good it's
been good to me other you know other
Nigerians but then other cultures as
well right within the African and
Caribbean space as well and being able
to connect and it's been something
special which goes back to um you know
the of Jr how he was able to bring all
these different communities together
right um create new friendships new
bonds new families um so that's be very
special especially like a number of
people will be immigrants as well yeah
and they've been able to step out like
come to a new place be reintegrated and
all you know under the foundation of the
Baseline of like this great company
thank you excellent
