ABOUT DIGITAL TOUR BUS: Digital Tour Bus is your backstage pass to your favorite touring artists! With daily video releases, we cover all genres, and have had the pleasure of featuring the likes of Matchbox Twenty, Twenty One Pilots, Megadeth, Machine Gun Kelly, Papa Roach, and thousands of others, over the past 15 years. "Bus Invaders" takes you inside an artist's home on the road, "Cooking at 65mph" showcases the culinary skills of artists on tour, and "Gear Masters" unveils the equipment musicians use on stage.
Hey, it's Justin from The Color Morale.
I play bass and scream about stuff, and welcome to The Color Morale version, episode, deal
of Bus Invaders.
Up here we have the front seat.
This is co-pilot, where the co-pilot usually falls asleep and doesn't keep me awake because
I like to drive a lot, but he'll be sitting here.
Usually this is the position right here, knees up, on the phone, playing Brick Breaker on
Blackberry, because we all still have those.
We have power strips and stuff, so everybody's plugging in all their devices and keeping
charged so we don't have any excuses not to talk to people.
I just really dug myself a grave with that one.
We have people who walk in front of vans sometimes.
That's always sweet.
We have the hand sanitizer.
You've got to keep it clean, try not to get sick on tour, because that sucks so bad.
As you can see, we kind of stick things around.
We've got a microcube, and that helps us on the road with writing and demoing out new
stuff and whatnot for new tunes.
We wrote probably about half of No Hope, our new record, with a microcube, so that's kind
of cool.
This was one of our shows on our tour last year, Scream It Like You Mean It, and Chiodos
was playing that, so we stole one of their passes.
Steady Hands, it's one of my best friends' bands.
Check them out, they're fantastic.
The Air I Breathe and other good friends of ours.
Here's something we like to bump in the old boom box from time to time, a little Damn
Fashion.
Now shout out to my boy Matt, dude, for real, man, you think you heard rap?
You ain't heard rap till you heard Damn Fashion, you know what I'm saying?
This is where the stink happens.
This is the danger zone of the van, and where terrible, terrible, ungodly things happen,
so sorry.
All right, front bench, usually for our sound engineer, Matt Malley.
He's fantastic, he has a huge mustache, and you cannot touch it.
Our friend Jess Diaz made us some cooks, a little cook-ma-gook, you know what I'm saying?
It's pretty tight.
And then in this bunk, as you can see, there's just a lot of garbage, like luggage and blankets
and stuff and whatnot.
Gotta stay awake on the road, got the hookup, it was pretty nice, and if you follow me to
the back, you'll see where the snoozing happens.
Hi!
Did you miss me?
Welcome back.
Here is where all the sleeping happens.
The bunk I'm currently sitting in belongs to Garrett, our singer, and this bunk across
from me is for Steve Carey, our drummer, and they like to think they work the hardest in
the band, so they get the beds.
I don't know why, how that happened, it's just kind of first come, first serve, I guess.
But yeah, so, I don't know if you can see this, apparently the justification for getting
these pillowcases was they were $2 for two.
If you saw our first digital tour bus filming ever, Steve was showing off his sleeping bag,
it's the negative degree weather sleeping bag type deal, he's got the same one.
You don't want to smell that.
I'm just happy that no electronics company has ever made the Smell-O-Vision yet, because
you guys would be turning this off.
So let's thank God for that, because you don't want to turn this off.
Got a little Dre Beats, know what I'm saying?
When you're in New York, something you can make my dreams come true, and inspire you!
In New York!
You know what I mean?
It was playing and it's not even wired and stuff.
So yeah, this is it guys.
So this is it, this is what we tour in, and if you come to any of our shows while we're
on tour, that'd be awesome, we'd love to meet you guys and hang out.
It's going to be a good year for us, and for the bus invaders, you know what I'm saying?
So it's a good thing you're supporting and hanging out and checking this out.
Please keep checking in for other bands, there's a lot of awesome bands out there that you
can get into their world a little bit.
But yeah, I'm not really good with words, but I appreciate it.
