Hey guys, welcome back. I I
Cannot believe the movie that I just watched that I just witnessed. I'm gonna be butchering the name
I know it because that is not how you pronounce the name even in the movie if you are a Chinese viewer
I apologize, but nays nays. Ah, oh, I know I messed that up, but I just got back from watching nays
To my mind. I can't take it. It is mine
It is blown y'all need to go watch this and at a movie theater if you get a chance
Let me just start off the video saying that it needs to be watched on the big screen now
This is a sequel. I had no idea
About the first movie I will be getting to it because I need to know the backstory
I need to establish everything. So let's get into what I experienced with this sequel with the second part
It's a visual feast. It's chaotic
beautifully crafted
Adrenaline pumping. Whoo that somehow also manages to be
Emotional now if you haven't seen the first one, don't worry
I went into this not knowing about the first one either and let me be honest
The reason why I went to go see this is because I saw an article stating that it is already the highest
Grossing animated movie in history surpassing inside out to I can see why but that's that statistic right there
I'm just like what I need to go check this out
This movie pushes animation to new heights the stunning character designs and for me
For me, but I meet this movie is gay and I live for it like that
I interpreted it in that way. I
Relate to it in a way because I am a homosexual and this movie just spoke to me Wow the animation
I'm I'm shook even without knowing the first film this movie immediately pulled me in with the stunning
visuals the colors
Explosive the action sequences, but I was shaking every frame feels like a painting
Blending traditional Chinese mythology with cutting-edge animation techniques
What really stood out to me is the scale of this movie. The movie takes battle
choreography to a new
level there's weight to every movement a real sense of impact when these characters clash and it's not just the fight like
Even those moments that are chill relaxed the calming the in-between shots. They're beautiful
Like I said, like a painting like this is just peak animation flexing
Like I feel like the animators for this movie China must be so freaking proud the character design
Let's get into it guys because I was like
Even for someone like me going in fresh to this I guess franchise
I'm assuming it's gonna it's already a franchise or it's turning into one the look of it already gives me backstory
It already tells me something about the characters even without knowing their backstory
Like I said, I didn't watch the first one Neza's look fierce. I'll being
Elegant yet intimidating which just helps the visual storytelling. It makes it more effective
Animation isn't just about movement. It's about presence and Neza to deliver that it
It's the perfect example
The villains in this whoo. There's some dragons in this the dragons already
Specifically one was very Kent. He was giving me life the girl dragon and then when they trans
I'm already spoiling it. Oh, well when they transform into like their human demon form if you will
I was I was a kid. I was a kid at a candy store
Let's get into the queer subtext that I was speaking about at the beginning how I related to this movie a lot
Nasa's a bit of a rule breaker and outcast to define
Expectations and in this film that theme is front and center. There's a fluidity to his identity like at first
I thought it was a girl. The look is androgynous. I could not tell is this a girl or boy?
Obviously, it's boy same for our beam. He has this feminine energy look delicateness to him that I love
They both have this sense of like self-discovery that like queer people can relate to
Perfectly nasa's dynamic without being whoo. There's some tension right there
I know they're friend, but I I was like, um
There's the homosexuality coming into the that I'm loving. It's layered. It's complex
It's emotionally rich even without knowing anything from the first movie
I just could tell nasa and I'll being they have this
Emotional intimacy between them like it's it's there. It's palpable
It's about finding someone who sees you who can relate to you
Even if the world doesn't the androgynous looks their rejection of societal roles and the fiery
independence that nasa has and the film's unspoken message of
Identity is fluid and it's yours to define follow your heart be who you are
Whoo
So many queer individuals like can relate to this. I see it
I I did and I also love this up subtext that I found about like queers were evil
We're demons. We're monsters. We don't belong
Y'all are supposed to be enclosed in hell
Y'all are going to hell but we escape that we prove that
This darkness that you're talking about and that you are the light
We're actually the good guys we about to come for y'all like we're about to battle fight for our lives
I loved it. So why does this movie matter? I think it because
Congrats on being a blockbuster hit right, but it's just more it's it's deeper than that and their substance to it
It's a testament to the power of animation and its storytelling
It challenges the idea that animated films have to fit in the to a certain mold it plays with gender
representation themes of identity
Breathtaking visuals all while delivering a thrilling action-packed story and the best part
You don't need to watch the first one because I did it to appreciate it. I will be honest though
I do think you need to watch the first one because I believe the first act of the movie I was lost
I could not understand everything that was happening and why it was happening
So I do believe it connects with the first one
So I am going to watch this so I can better understand that first act of the movie
But the second and third acts of the film like you are able to enjoy you get it
You understand bold innovative and visually stunning. I just cannot stop talking about it. It is so good guys. I'm gonna be
Watching out for the third one because I know it's coming
So if you haven't seen Nisa 2 and it's available at a theater near you
What are you waiting for go watch it go support. This is animation at a whole nother level. It's
It's an experience you will love it you're gonna feel things
I was thinking to myself if I'm feeling this way as a 34 year old gay man
I can only imagine what a kid must be feeling. Let me know what you think guys
If you've seen it, if not a go, thank you for watching like comment subscribe share and until next time adios
