oh good afternoon everybody and a warm
welcome to Juma game reserve here in
South Africa and we have one of Africa's
icons just in front of us here the
African Lon beautiful family here female
the three unuma females the other female
with the Cubs isn't with them at the
moment but they have been joined by the
two gajima males again and it is
wonderful to see that they've stayed
here on the quarantine area my name's
Tara Herman's joined me on camera and
back in front of control is
maloi looks like they're pretty settled
in for the afternoon I'd like to just
stay with them just for a few moments
and then we'll move on and come back a
little bit later I think
and they pretty much stayed here for the
rest of the day by the looks of it
sound with it being carried for many
kilometers is a very useful tool in the
bush to locate each other
shame there's the short mained
male for
it doesn't look like he's going to be
moving let's see if we can go for a
little drive around see if there's
anything else out there this
afternoon and come back a little bit
later
on maybe we might see some action with
them roaring and trying to to relocate
the other female it'd be wonderful to
catch up with those Cubs
again but let's leaving to the nap for
now yeah there she goes head
down enjoy your Slumber
guys and girls
half of me could stay with
them for the kajima I don't think they
spend too much time away from those
females from what I can see could be
that it's only the yumas in their pride
or in their territory should I say
this is where the
Impala are hanging out at the
moment now this is really just a snack
for a lion I mean if the Lions did take
down
Impala if they took down one it' just
really be a snack and probably the males
would end up eating it before the
females really had a chance to see part
of
it so I do need something a little bit
more substantial but if if they're
hungry enough they may just hunting
parlor we're getting one or two drops
we're going to try and see if we can
escape the rain it's not too heavy at
the moment
one drop here one drop there so I'm
going to see if we can maybe head
down maybe looks a little bit clearer
further on and to the left to the right
sorry a very strong smell there's a lot
of elephant ding on the road as
well and with's not
really knowing this one I'm not going to
get too
close because when a bull is in
must there's a hiding level of
testosterone around his body and
sometimes they can become quite
aggressive what we found is generally
the older bull elephants seem to be
quite
relaxed you should never take that
for granted around here cuz that one
time that you do you could end up having
a problem
look at
that so
impressive for
as soon as he's heading off in that
direction let's leave him to it and
continue on we may even bump into him as
we head around towards maybe twin dams
or Treehouse Dam
area opposite the andela leading down to
the
dam sorry
guys what
TOS disappearing into the bush I hope
people stopped off there's still one
there he's gone
oh more water hog in the road
you
there you're going to walk off the
road you want to be on
camera crusted
Franklin so we actually moved off the
road with its partner
they are
monogamous and they have a song when
they sing together they duet and it
sounds like one
bird the Lions further north now that
could be why the Lions move South
and taken up a refuge spot in the middle
of this open area
here so they have taken another spot so
the Impala don't
know that they're here anymore
uh station approaching the engala I've
got your visual you should get mine
fairly
soon copy thank you got your visual
and we'll see if we can maybe go this
time maybe towards Rebecca's Road Zoe's
Road and do a small loop around there
there's a
mother you able to see her a bit
clearly I think little
one's going back to
her the stations I've left the angala
one station from arus are in the
[Applause]
lock and I've also got some more glove
here on Rebecca's
Road
located uh some more and love on
Rebecca's
Road thank
you there's baby seeing what mom's
eating
there we go
oh what I went for we've had with the
enuma and the gajima
males and I'm really glad that they have
stuck around all day it really is a
treat to have them here and I'm hoping
they're going to stick around a little
bit
longer maybe even you might hear them
later on this evening on the water Hall
camera so definitely listen out for that
and they may even go down to drink but I
don't think they're going to be moving
anytime soon we'll keep our air to the
ground and if we do hear or see anything
then we'll certainly try and let you
guys
know and if we're able to try and film
it then we will
do but I think for now I think it's
going to be a while before we do wake
up everyone else seems to be quite
relaxed so thank you very much for
joining us today I hope you've had a
wonderful day with us here on wild Earth
thanks home for all your camera work and
Lucy back in front of control I'll see
you again tomorrow for our next Safari
so take care everyone I'll see you again
soon bye tomorrow
