So our last skater tonight was in the Olympics in Pyeongchang.
She won a bronze medal with Team USA.
She's a two-time US silver medalist, a two-time United
States champion.
She's training in New Jersey, but her coach is in France,
and the other one is in Chicago.
So isn't that so modern?
She has virtual coaching, but she's doing it on her own.
At age 27, she's making a real bid for the world championships
that will be here in Boston.
So please welcome, for her first time skating at an Evening
with Champions, Miss Brady Tenell.
["EVENING WITH CHAMPIONS"]
Wider than a mile
I'm crossing you in style
Someday
Oh, dream maker
You heartbreaker
Wherever you're going
I'm going your way
To drifters
Oh, to see the world
There's such a lot of world to see
We're after
The same
Rainbow's end
Waiting round the bend
A huckleberry friend
Oh, river
And me
I love that movie.
And so you skate it so beautifully.
And so tell me about this arrangement with these virtual coaches.
Um, it's really not as exciting as it sounds.
What it means is that I'm all by myself on the ice
and my coaches are just there on the screen.
Um, so I have to basically just put them up on the wall
where they could like see the whole rink.
And then I just do my stuff and I have them in my air pod.
It sounds like a picture of dedication to me, actually.
And independence.
And I am impressed.
Thank you very much.
I wish you the best of luck this year.
And I know that, you know, you're devoted to it.
I've known you since you were a little girl.
And you're a hard, hard worker.
And, um, you know, you deserve everything that you get.
Um, can we ask for a little more?
Yes. Yes.
Thank you.
Please welcome back Brady Tennell.
And that is a spin that nobody else in the world does like you.
Fantastic.
Brady Tennell, we wish you all the best.
