Hi, I'm Alexandra. I believe life can be both glorious, tricky and even painful.. which we all know. Beauty is a practice I have enjoyed from early childhood as a way to build my confidence in myself. Not just on "special" occasions, but in my every day life and decision making. On my YouTube channel I show you practical steps and psychology to understand and apply methods in all areas of beauty; inclding fashion, makeup, hairstyling and femininity, to help us evolve and transform into our personal visions. I believe when a girl feels good about herself, she can make better choices for herself in ALL areas of life. Welcome to my channel, I'm glad you found me.
first things first what are we doing
essentially we're shaving our face we're
not using a body hair razor but one of
these single blade razors these are
inexpensive and you can find them at the
drugstore or online I'll link some in
the description it's worth learning how
to do this because it costs a lot to get
every single treatment done at a salon
it's just no no no no no no no so I'm
going to show you how to do it and I'm
going to show you how to do it well if
you like this video give it a thumbs up
but why would we take the time to do
this there are three awesome things that
happen when you dermaplane your face the
best thing is you get a glow your skin
can objectively reflect light properly
without the hair interrupting it even
with makeup on by removing the dead skin
and the hair you get a beautiful glow
and you and I both got skinc care and we
want it to do like the thing that it's
going to that it says it's going to do
and when you dermaplane all of the
products that you put on top can absorb
truly because there's no dead skin
blocking them and this last benefit may
be the favorite for a lot of us because
if you like to wear a lot of makeup or
you like natural makeup regardless you
will get the softest finish possible and
if you are somebody who likes to take
pictures if you are a movie star if
you're on camera a lot you'll notice
you've just photograph or video so much
glowier because now your skin can
reflect light even when there's products
on top there's somebody asking is it
going to grow back thicker somebody's
asking that question and I'm glad you
asked the answer in short is no and in a
technical sense if you really do look
into this peach fuzz isn't just called
peach fuzz it's called vus hair and
scientifically they understand the
scientists understand that it doesn't
behave like body hair it just behaves
like V's hair growing back thin and
clear like it was in the beginning now
let's start the treatment
there are a few things that you should
do each and every time before you
dermaplane your face which includes
making sure that the bathroom or
wherever you're doing this is actually
clean itself so that if you go to use
your razor and then you put it down for
a second and you pick it back up you
didn't put it on a dirty counter and
that way you won't get a breakout and
then next step is to wash your hands
really thoroughly and if you have long
nails like me make sure not only are
your hands clean but that there's
nothing underneath your nails once your
hands are clean then you can move on to
washing your face and making sure that
it is completely clean and when you wash
your face make sure that you wash it to
the point where you know that you know
there's no sunscreen left there's no
makeup left and if you wearing like a
heavy oil or skin care it's not there
anymore final and perhaps the most
important prep step probably not the the
face being clean the hands being it's
all very important but if if you have a
tool that you've used before and for
some reason it is still covered with
skin and hair make sure that it is
clean now that you prepare properly you
have the best setup for a good outcome
and preventing breakouts or getting a
cut when you're dermaplaning I think
it's good to section out your face so
work on the forehead first or maybe one
section of your cheek essentially I'm
taking an etching motion with my hand
and bringing the blade down from the top
just above my
eyebrows when you're using your blade
don't stick it directly to your skin
straight in or straight on it should be
on an angle like this so that whether
you're going down or up it's angled and
it won't cut you when it comes to this
part on your cheeks I like to use my
fingers to hold my skin tight not only
do you get a closer dermal plane and
make sure that you're removing all of
the dead skin as well as the peach fuzz
you prevent cuts by doing this whenever
you're holding a tool whether it's a
dermaplane tool or a makeup brush where
you hold the tool is going to determine
how much natural pressure is applied if
you hold it all the way up close towards
the blade it's almost impossible not to
have a heavy hand with a lot of pressure
applied so it's good to hold it
somewhere in the middle when you're
holding something really far back you'll
naturally apply a gentle press pressure
but if it's too far back it'll be
wiggling around in your hand causing you
to slip so hold it like this coming back
to V hair I'm removing the peach fuzz
off of everywhere on my face but on my
upper lip if I have hair which I used to
that had pigment it'd be better to use
IPL or to thread that hair cuz it could
grow back thicker once you're done you
can move right into skin care but if you
did touch your phone while you were
dermaplaning and then you went and
touched your face cleanse your skin
again to prevent
breakouts I'm adding a moisturizer on
top of my skin and now I'm good to go if
you have questions about how to do this
leave them in the comments below and I
will help you troubleshoot so that you
can get glowing skin I hope that you
enjoyed this video I love you
