This Is Why Lionel Messi Is The Best Player Of The Season 2018/19 - HD

This guy plays a different game to any footballer I've ever seen. He's the greatest of all time in my book. In the majority of games, he still finds the space, he still goes past people, still scores, still creates, he's just unstoppable. Not only is he the best goalscorer ever, the best dribbler, he's also the best passer. As an attacking player, the most complete player for me in history. I mean, he's taken everything to new levels. He's such a high level, and this man is at the middle of it every time they do well, every time he is the difference. This is what Einstein called a spooky action over distance. That's what he was on about. Amazing. There's no statistics for this, Phil. You can imitate statistics, but you can't imitate this. It's all about Messi once again. Look at that, how good he did it, it's ridiculous. Oh, lovely skill from Messi, he gets it onto the left foot. Well, Cuellar's made a save now. Philippe Luiz and Messi gets away from him with sublime ease. I've never seen anything like that. He can't see the ball, he kind of flicks it out, uses his heel, puts it through Philippe's arm. Messi gets away from Guardado. Still Messi. And once again, Messi, I mean, it's so difficult to take the ball off him when he's on a run. Messi, lovely turn, still Messi, still Messi, what footwork. Pele says, what, he hasn't got a right foot and he can't hit the ball? But he's got the best left foot ever seen in the history of the game. Look at this. I've got no words to describe this man, but he makes it look absolutely simple. True. That's genius, Rob, but as I say, he sees things differently. The genius, again, is Messi. Oh, Leo Messi, still Messi. Typical Messi check-kick round, he finds Dembele. Jordi Alba to Leo Messi. Messi gets away from Reguilon. He's got Dembele to his right. Zagarin, again, you could follow Lionel Messi, or he'd follow you into a revolving door, and he'd still come out first. Take a look at the control. Alvarez, Messi. It's time to Messi. Well, it was awkward, but he brought it under control, served lively, well, here's Messi. Still Messi. Got away from him, he wins it back. Messi gets into the area. Messi nearly losing the ball, fighting to win it back, though showing tremendous determination. Still Messi, gets away from Van Aan, still Messi. Messi, again, gets away from Van Aan. Messi. Messi! And Messi! What a finish! Messi! Oh! Out of nothing! That's where he lives! He lives in the spectrum of genius! Messi to the corner! Absolutely brilliant! He is a genius when it comes to free-kicks of Messi. Into the corner, he's done it again! Unstoppable! World-class from Lionel! Messi, with the free-kick. Under the wall, to the back of the net, he's done it again! Messi magic, again! It's Messi, and he's wriggling, and he's scoring, and he's magical. Come on. Wonderful, out of nothing. I was just about to say his name as well. It's incredible. He's been just fine in little pockets all evening. He's just such a hard player to man, Mark. And all he needs, a man of his quality, is half a yard, because how he pulls the trigger with hardly any back-lift, I'll never know. It's such magical work from him. Messi in the middle! Magnificent, look at the goals! Messi, nothing less again! He doesn't need two touches, he doesn't need to control it. His first touch is perfection. Messi. He's got room now. It's Lionel Messi! 1-1. The feet of Lionel Messi. Too quick, too cute. Messi inspires. Messi! The Sevilla fans can only watch and smile. The return, and again! They're making it up as they go along! Messi! Again, the latest Scottish football in the highest order from Barcelona. Messi fights, Messi delivers, Messi scores again. Lionel Messi in a bit of space, Messi gets it on to his left foot! The ball through for Lionel Messi! And Messi, this time it's inside the post. Up steps Messi! Now Messi. Lionel Messi offering support. Oh, lovely ball into Suarez! Samedo ahead of him, it's a lovely ball if Samedo can get Messi to Samedo. Messi. Still Messi. Messi to Suarez! Bono again! Well, what a scintillating run it was from Lionel Messi, Rob. He really does do fantastically well. Pushing forward, drives into the heart of the fence, there's loads of white shirts, and the pass was brilliant. Messi's done all that work, he's done the magic, he's done the hard yards. He gets back to Messi, avoids the challenge at Modric, gets it straight back from Suarez. And it's Messi to Suarez, who can't steady himself. And it's the man with kaleidoscope eyes that is Lionel Messi! It's Messi's genius once again that comes to the fore. Make no mistake about his pitch with a beautiful ball. Rainbow pass. Sergio Noveto's through! It's Messi, you've seen Pique. Pique's through, Messi collects. Swaneth making a run, lovely ball from Messi. Delicious pass from Lionel Messi. And Messi can have a dance again. Swaneth, a little touch back to Messi, Messi finding Coutinho! It's in the back of the net from Coutinho! A superb move, Lionel Messi very much involved, why not? And it's greeted by Gerard Pique. Lovely ball to Alenya from Messi! Messi, off he goes again, Suarez one way, Dembele the other. He's chosen Ousmane Dembele to make it five! Luxurian football from Barcelona. Just look at the weight of the pass, draws people in, and then the weight of that pass enables Dembele to hit it first time. Dembele now in the 18, back to his right! And he buries it into the back of the net! Messi over the top towards Suarez! Messi now, Messi picks it up again, and this is Jordi Alba. If you were to build a player, build a perfect player, Ronaldo, I get that, strong physique, head, everything. If you create naturally a beautiful player, it's Messi. And to be on the planet, to be playing, I was fortunate to play in that era when he was playing, and now to watch him, I feel lucky.
