Women Football - HIGHLIGHTS | Juventus vs. AS Roma (Serie A Femminile 2024-25 Title Pool Matchday 1)

Sprung, you might say. And away we go with Juve left in the first half. Only Bolognese ahead of her. Giurelli's arriving now. Giurelli on the edge of the area. Giuliano did just enough to get back and make the block. Navi. Navi taking on Lenzini. Doing well to deliver a cross towards the back post. As Bergamaschi got there. This is Giurelli. Giuliano. Oh, it's off the crossbar. Great effort. Still there for Villon. Harvey with the shot. And again, didn't quite connect. And it's with Giuliano. The Roma captain so close to making it 1-0. She's been specialising in spectacular goals. Towards Giurelli at the back post. Bennison is there to tidy up for Juve. Navi's cross again towards Giurelli in the centre. A chance for her. Just couldn't get the shot away. Bergamaschi was appealing for handball against Alice Giurelli there. Out of nothing, Juve take the lead. Lunari didn't deal with the ball into the area. And Mathilde Harbergen, I think it is, has lashed that one to the net to give Juve a lead in the 19th minute. Villon with the lay-off. Dragoni. Harvey. Lots of players in the box for Roma here if she can get the cross in. It's a decent ball. Oh, it's well dealt with by Bonanzea. Getting back to help out her defence. Ball was kept in play, but to Roma's advantage as Chiarelli sends one in towards the back post. Just too high for Harvey. Chance of a counter-attack now as Krumbegel takes it away. Look at the speed of Kulberg there, driving forward. She has the legs to get away from Lunari. Only Giurelli in the centre. It's a good ball, the goalkeeper out to claim it. What a super break that was from Emil Kulberg. To be taken by Giuliano. Lunari arriving and scores! It is an instant response from Roma. It might have been her error that led to Juve's opening goal. Harvey was going to chase that. Lanzini was underneath it. It's with Harvey again. Emily Harvey. The shot! Oh, what a goal! That's magnificent. Emily Harvey makes it 2-1. Two goals in a minute. And Roma, having trailed 1-0. Here come Juve at the other end. Giurelli is finding some nets! This is unbelievable. Cristiana Giurelli with her 14th goal of the season. Bonanzaia comes away with the ball for Juve. Now it's Coreggi. Lanzini with the block as Harvey tried to cross there. This is Corelli. Blocked away. Danica Corelli did pretty well there to get a shot on target. Lanzini. Looking to use Crumb-Beagle. Lovely return ball for Lanzini. And a dangerous cross! Oh, that's a wonderful goal! Cristiana Giurelli has done it again. Beautiful combination on the near side. Between Crumb-Beagle and Martina Lanzini who delivered the perfect cross. And when you have a deadly finisher like Giurelli in the centre, that's all you need. Emilia Giuliano. Picture of concentration as she prepares to take this corner. That's a good delivery in the header. Has it crossed the line? It has! It's 3-3. Evelyn Pion stabbing the ball to the net. Roma back on level terms. And again in this game we see an immediate response. It's going to be Annie Brighton to deliver. Halfway for Juve. Oh, Giurelli is pointing to where she wants to play. It's aimed towards her and she scored again! It's another hat-trick for Giurelli in consecutive games. And Juve hit the front once more. Beautiful cross. And a deadly finish. Pilgrim is about to come on. Chiarelli. Javi. Good footwork from Javi. Ciccinti inside the area. Chiarelli quickly blocked down. And Giuliano with the effort but it's straight at the keeper. Well held by Romagna. The cross comes in all the way through to Guglielmo. Greggi. The shot from Greggi! Oh, fine save. Brilliant effort. Togerson. Towards Javi. Here's Togerson again. Cool. Now to Greggi. Ciccinti. Coulou. Coulou has it. Goal! It's off the crossbar. Did the goalkeeper get a touch to that? As well. Super effort from Catherine Coulou. So unlucky. Bodies forward for Roma. Goal is broken to Giuliano. No free kick either way there. Here's Coulou. Togerson. Now Pilgrim. Dangerous cross from Pilgrim. Goal to Giuliano. Greggi. Greggi with the shot. Oh, it's a good effort and a good save as well. Last chance saloon now for Roma. Javi. Block again by Thomas. And it just nicked off Emily Javi on the way out. Great defensive work by the substitute. Easy Thomas. And that is the last action of the game. The full-time whistle sounds. A hat-trick from Cristiano Girelli has helped Juve to a vital, vital 4-3 win against title rivals Roma. It was 13 points between the sides. An incredible game which turned one way and then the other. But in the end, it was all about one player, Cristiano Girelli, who scores a hat-trick for the second match in a row. And has helped Juve to a hugely significant victory. See you next time.
