Virtual Automation: Automobile Manufacturing Plant

Hello everyone, my name is Harsh Mepani and this is a short video demonstration of a virtual
automation project on the automobile manufacturing plant. My team members are Anuj Chalaria,
Chintan Dagli and Kunal Patel. This is the layout of the automobile manufacturing plant.
These are the four different stations of our automobile manufacturing plant.
You have the machine shop, the paint shop, the final assembly shop and the inspection
station along with the test track. I will explain you the functions of each and individual station
in detail. This is the machine shop. Here the overhead crane picks up the sheet metal,
brings it to the conveyor belt where the press machine punch them into the required body panels
and take them to the robot which weld them to form the chassis. This is the paint shop.
Here the chassis goes through the washing station, the primer coating station, then into the paint
booth for the final color coat and then into the baking station. This is the final assembly shop
where on four different stations the engine, the wheels, the seats and the doors are mounted onto
the chassis. This is the inspection station where on a roll test we check the acceleration and
braking of the car, then we have the horn and the steering test and then a visual inspection
of the car. Then we have the BMW test circuit on which we test the performance of the car.
Now I will go through the individual stations. This is the machine shop.
Now I will show you the simulation of the paint shop.
Next we have the final assembly station.
Now we have the final inspection station.
The braking test and based on the acceleration and braking
there is a horsepower analysis which will be shown on the screen.
A high-speed camera does a visual inspection of the car.
This is the visual inspection of the exteriors of the car.
Now moving on to the test track. This is the road test simulation.
So this was our virtual automation project on the automobile manufacturing plant. Thank you.
