PowerPoint Adding and Managing Clipart

next I'd like to talk about adding clip art to your slide so um clip arts are kind of built-in pictures that come with Microsoft Office so I want to say insert and then clip art right over here and then this new window is going to open up on this side now you can search for different things uh you can search for houses I want to type in the word house and click on go and you can see different houses there uh so let's try to see if there's any for schools there's a couple School uh related topics uh let's let's try people so you can see there's there's lots of clip arts that you can use let's try let's try well since we're talking about boats in this slide uh let's see if there's any boats okay there's a boat so I want to pick on that all you have to really do is click on that and now notice how that added it to the slide okay now just like pictures you can move that by dragging it uh we can resize it using the sizing handles you can tell that you're on a sizing handle because uh your mouse becomes a double arrow I like to use the ones in the corner because then it keeps it in proportion like that of course I'm going to drag this now I want to make this a little bit larger using the sizing handles move it over here a little bit okay now you can also click on that uh clip art and then rotate it using the green circle and then you just hold down your left Mouse and just drag it to rotate that as such okay now just like the pictures there's many ways we can format that I'm going to click on the clip art and then notice how the format menu appears uh we can ches to brighten this see how if you look at the picture that preview mode is uh kicking in and you can decide which one would be uh the right one so we do contrast and now you can see how uh I'm getting different uh different shades of the colors all right now recolor uh watch what we can do here keep your eye on the picture down here I can make it like a gray scale or we can add a tint to these pictures and you can see down here how that's affecting that or if you want to go back to the original you pick on this guy over here just like the pictures you can add these frames these different effects now once I pick that frame then I can come over here maybe I like to have a different color and notice how the frame is changing its color that's called The Border okay uh and then the picture effect well the picture shape could be like triangles right and we can have different uh shapes like that right very good and then we can add an effect like a shadow effect you really want to try some of these out to see what they're going to look like but we have Reflections glow soft edges uh the bevels kind of make it look like they're on a button like that the rotations the 3DS and you can see now you have a completely different picture there so very interesting types of effects you really want to experiment with these and see how they these are going to work for you now uh so let's make that picture maybe with a different frame all right that's better so they don't uh they don't overlap we're going to talk about overlapping in just a second I'm going to pick on that now um notice how we can also rotate the picture over here see how it rotated to the left and to the right vertical horizontal again you want to experiment with those it's it's fairly easy to rotate that you can also use the green circle on the picture itself to rotate it now and then if you want to crop the picture that means you're going to chop off some of the picture you're going to pick on size and then here's crop over here let's say I didn't want to have all this blue sky so I'm going to um crop it as far as I can over and notice how it didn't resize it it's really actually um taking some of the picture off just like that so now you can see I don't have as much Sky there and and um so that's how we can start to manage our clip art what we did was we said insert clip art this window appears over here at this point you can do a search maybe for boats or houses or whatever whatever whatever you're looking for there's a lot of clip arts out there once you have that you're going to click on your picture comes into your slide from there we can resize it move it format it rotate it and then we can do all the formatting options that I showed you as well so that's how you can manage your clip art in Microsoft PowerPoint 2007
