Othawa pride and a Majingilane male disturbed by an elephant herd in the riverbed. Filmed in the Sabi Sand Nature Reserve, Greater Kruger National Park, South Africa
About Rob The Ranger Wildlife Videos: The purpose of the channel is to show what it is like to experience seeing wild animals on an African safari. Nature Documentaries are often highly edited to tell a story, wildlife safaris are not, and the idea here is to show the wildlife sightings the way they were seen. Safari tours in Africa are generally suitable for all ages and this channel can be considered an educational channel about incredible nature, some scenes in the nature videos may be more graphic than people are used to but this is the reality of nature and is what you would see if you were present on such a safari in person. Safaris in Kenya, South Africa, or any other African country are an unrivalled experience for anyone with a passion for nature, wildlife photography, and travel. Hopefully the animal videos on this channel can provide a glimpse into what the nature experience is like and encourage more people to take a wildlife safari one day. why are you filming the specific reason
or just just for fun I mean you've seen
it so many times
it's still but the videos on YouTube
people that watch on YouTube haven't
seen it so oh really yeah yeah they got
nothing to worry about Predator they
don't like them oh okay so they won't
won't be happy that they're there
they'll chase them just because they can
basically M the baboon shouting in the
distance there I don't know if they're
they're looking at these lines here or
if that male is maybe close to the water
that
side just making
sure yeah they don't want to take on
something that weighs 10 times as much
as they do they want to make sure that
they're see there's the elephant being
upset about it if she' actually stayed
still it might not have noticed that to
be honest
all hiding behind the
rock lions are the kings of
the no no they'll eat an elephant if
it's dead
but they won't they won't try and kill
one you know it's so much bigger than
they are I mean they're even scared of a
hood of Buffalo if it's running towards
them they're
sensible you can go up close your camera
yeah yeah and quality
yeah once you get rid of all the junk
but this is not the one line with the
scars on the back or is it no no that's
it's a different group it's actually a
group that they they were fighting
with coalition to the east of here
further down the river uh two males
there they didn't get the scars from
from these males but they they're kind
of boxed between uh other coalitions
those two Coalition of four this side
and two younger coalitions of three or
four um the other side so just being two
of them they're always
outnumbered but again the're older and
wies so they try to avoid
conflict and
you the line that fights and runs away
lives to fight another day as as they
say so if they can get away from a fight
they're not they're not going to
stay they're still trying to find a way
to get down
yeah they should go just a little bit
further down there and they'll be
fine yeah so Lions digest their food so
so quickly they can they can eat a meal
and be skinny again the next day
okay so that the the energy is not
sitting there being unused in their
stomach it's there ready for it's
absorbed into the muscles ready to go
when they need
it
quite they also have quite a lot of
youngers have you seen birth of lions
elephants I haven't actually I haven't
I've seen I've seen Buffalo giving birth
okay not all the way giraffe and impa
wowa but not for a while I haven't seen
either for a while obviously the animals
tend to go to a secluded spot to do that
and you can smell
it cool is it
[Music]
you would expect them to be okay
coordinating what
happens going up to the top when they
come to this I thought the Clapping of
the ears no the the ears the flapping of
the ears is actually um it's more to do
with keeping cool than anything
else really not for communication as
well when they spread their ears out and
keep them out it's to try and make
themselves look bigger yes but that's
that's too intimidate us not to
communicate with one another not to to
intimidate each
other I thought the Clapping um is also
you can hear or they can hear but again
that's that's to us if if they flap
their head and smack their ears from
side to side it's more about again
intimidating us again M's going to get
up and join them up there we'll make our
way
around once he
guys yeah two two two two male cuups one
female cup and
then just wait
[Music]
[Applause]
here M might be a little bit lazier than
there the females in there the
youngsters
there
see see what he
does little bit longer to get the effort
together up there I
think it's a little bit
older be quite stiff when he gets up as
well
lovely easy
