Notable moments from Roki Sasaki's MLB debut at the Tokyo Dome! | 佐々木朗希ハイライト

And the Japan and Dodger connection continues starting with the day of Nomo 1995 Tani Yamamoto now Sasaki the 13th Japanese born Dodger making his major league debut. Sasaki throws 100 a little bit low. If warm ups were any indication E.K. He's going to have to harness those butterflies because he was all over the place so much so that Austin Barnes who caught the warm ups walked off with a smile on his face like oh my gosh and a hundred again fly the left field. There is Michael Conforto for the first out and an exhale from Sasaki who's been dreaming of this day for a long time. Twenty three years old under Riku Zen Takada a small fishing village on Japan's northeast coast. Watching closely today having a viewing party there. He's got an official fan club back in Takada. Got him swinging the first strikeout of Rookie Sasaki's major league career is of Seya Suzuki and a nice feather in his cap right there getting his countrymen. I mean as hard as he throws as a hitter you're going to have to get him down in the zone missing up just not going to catch up to it especially when you're throwing 100 miles an hour. That one's turned around but got under it and in center field Andy Pajas will make this a one two three debut inning for Sasaki shot a short caught by Rojas banged a short it's caught by Rojas it's a double play and it ends the inning. So Sasaki with some help from his shortstop to pitch around the pair of free passes. He bounces this one off the end of the bat to first and an easy play for Kiku Hernandez. There's a splitter disappearing diving into the dirt and the count is full. Look at that. I think if anything though coming in tonight you knew that there are going to be some growing pains and it's going to be a bit of a roller coaster. Heck we remember what Yamamoto went through last year. He strikes him out with the fastball. I'll say it again just as easy as he gets himself in trouble he can get himself out. That's that's how good his stuff is. You know it becomes one of those things too is he's just got to believe that he's that good. Bases loaded two away one to. Back to back to limit the damage.
