Women Football - HIGHLIGHTS | AS Roma vs. Fiorentina (Serie A Femminile 2024-25 Title Pool Matchday 5)

She will get us on the way in just a moment and she does exactly that back into midfield to Filippa Kermark and Fiorentina enjoy the early possession here. Tuggerson on her outside. This is Tuggerson on the outside of her again. She'll play it inside to Giacinti who'll look to engineer some space for the shot but a good block by Stina Pedersen. Fiorentina trying to play their way out but they're under pressure here. Pilgrim has won it Here's Giacinti and now Pandini. Pandini looking for room for the left footed shot and she's found the space and she's found the corner and Roma after fewer than five minutes that's Stadio Tre Fontana in front and it's Marta Pandini who just caressed the ball into the corner and Roma ahead five minutes. Efficient time to go. They might fancy another one here early on. Here's Emily Harvey. Harvey against Filancieri. Harvey's shot and that's across the face of goal. Cicely Fisker-Strand made her Serie A debut against Roma in November of 2020. Seven assists this season. No other player in Serie A has moored this campaign and Bochete is such a creative presence. Severini now. Severini has found Iannocchi. Iannocchi to the left foot. Bochete laying it off and that's it to Emma Snarell. And Snarell with the back heel. Bochete's shot and she struck the post. The Spaniard. That was a superbly inventive attack by Fiorentina and it's come off a Roma player last. This corner kick is one results and Fiorentina have it inside the penalty area and Emma Snarell just didn't catch that as well as she would have liked. And the ball just crept along the ground into the hands of Camilia Cesar. Pilgrim takes it short. Ball swung in. Header away by Filancieri initially but that's a break for Pandini and she's got one in this game already. She caught it reasonably well but too straight and straight had Fisker strand. Defending for Fiorentina to do. Roma with the only goal of the game so far. Looking for a second. It's in towards Manami and that's not far away. The Japanese international just flicking it towards goal but breaking ball any sort of an opportunity in there to add to her four goals in the league this season. Pilgrim is cool. Pilgrim again. Pilgrim's cross in towards Giacinti and Manami has scored and Roma make it two. And Valentina Giacinti deserves a lot of credit for her improvisation in that one. Flicking it towards goal. The save was made by Fisker strand with their two goal advantage now. And Fiorentina looks a long way back. Plenty of time remains though and Roma at the end of the day are a team in poor form of late but here's Pilgrim now. Pilgrim into the penalty area and her shot flashes across the face of Fisker strand's goal. Pedersen pressurized and Giacinti has turned it over. She's looking for the free kick Pedersen but she won't get it. Here's Linari a long way forward. Now Giuliano looking to wrap her foot around the ball which she did. The ball just wouldn't come back quite enough for Manuela Giuliano. Ten goals this season Giuliano. The goal scorers Pantani and Manami. Giacinti through here. Valentina Giacinti it's off the crossbar. She might get another chance here and she's looking for a penalty kick. The referee entirely uninterested. Here is that chance from Giacinti. It's a good save by Fisker strand. You have to give the goalkeeper credit. Giacinti was favorite in this one-on-one position. Fisker strand with the save bouncing the ball into the ground and off the crossbar. Here's the free kick by Severini. Angles one into the penalty area and that's broken for Bocchetti and that really should have been her seventh goal of the season and she knows it. That was a great opportunity for Fiorentina to get themselves back into this game on the weekend of Saturday the 12th and Sunday the 13th. Milan against Fiorentina and Rome against Juventus on the Sunday. Of course the first of four matches taking place this weekend. The only one taking place today. Here's Della Peruta. Della Peruta she does have support around her. She's probably gone for the hardest ball of all. Restringi on the edge of the penalty area. Look the better pass for Della Peruta. Tomorrow in the pool. Napoli play Como. Sampdoria play Sassuolo. Every point mattering at the bottom of the table with Napoli and Sampdoria battling to avoid the drop. It's a long ball forward towards Corelli and Pedersen for once has gotten her angles wrong. Corelli she's beaten Pedersen but she doesn't manage to beat Fisker Strand. Another really good save by the Norwegian goalkeeper. Pedersen's been so good today. Really strong at the heart of Fiorentina defence but Corelli engineered the space for the shot but Fisker Strand at her front post did exactly what the goalkeeper should do. Filangieri. The referee will have a quick word. They want to have a word with both players. Filangieri obviously feeling the disappointment here and there is the final whistle from the referee and Roma have taken the three points. Hugely important three points as well as they pursue that the very least a place in the Champions League for next season. It might just keep alive an outside chance of the title however unlikely that may look. The scoring began on five minutes. Marta Pandini curling it into the bottom left corner and well there was a chance for Fiorentina when Vera Becchetti hit the post on 25 with the second goal finishing things off on 42 minutes. Mweka Minami from close range striking the second goal of the match that has given Roma a comfortable two goal win here over Fiorentina. Final score from Stadio Tre Fontaine it's finished Roma 2 Fiorentina 0.
