Hey Mouse, is it clear there? Welcome everyone to our sixth video on the series. In this video, we'll be looking around the ISU-152. The IS series vehicles, including the ISU assault guns, had a new steering system. They still had the traditional clutch and brake, but this was combined with an epicyclical gear system. Not only this worked much better on a heavy tank, but this also increased the top speed of the vehicle. The ISU was one ton heavier than the KV-1E, but even with 80 horsepower less, the ISU was going 2 km per hour faster than the KV. The main feature of this vehicle is of course its huge 152 millimeter gun, very capable of destroying anything it hits. But a large caliber like this comes with its own downside. Armor-piercing shell weighted 48.5 kilograms, and the powder cartridge alone weighted 15 kilograms. So the vehicle needed two loaders, and the rate of fire was still very slow. And the vehicle could only carry 22 rounds with it. The Finns managed to capture two ISUs, but the other one was lost again after only three days of its capture. The one here in the museum got turned into a hauling vehicle and had its cannon removed. The tank and the cannon were reunited in 1964 as the vehicle was put onto the display. All right.
