the wrap-up team continues our investigation to what is really going on in the U.S Southern border it has been almost a month since title 42 expired on May 11th we look at the devastating impact that illegal immigration and cartels have had on Border Patrol law enforcement and everyday Americans what's up guys CJ Pearson here back in Austin Texas now you guys may remember a few weeks ago we were here in Texas right before title 42 expired title 42 was that special rule that allowed for immigration officials border patrol and law enforcement to immediately expel illegal immigrants back to their home country using a public health provision now since then title 42 has expired and the effect that it's had on our Southern border has been disastrous even before the expiration of title 42 I spoke with authorities in Texas who called the mass legal Crossings an invasion we're being overwhelmed and overrun all along the all along every County along the river is is suffering tremendously from the impact of the immigrations the legal give me upset the River or the illegals that continue to move forward through the country be a foot or vehicle or however being smuggled the drugs and stuff all of that's escalated to numbers that we've never seen before I've never seen it like this actually I lived here 30 years everybody's just going to come across and there's literally thousands of people in Mexico waiting and many fear there was no plan to deal with the influx of new aliens waiting just on the other side of the Southern border to enter those that are holding that they're holding currently for either deportation or Asylum Seekers they're gonna have to make bed space to handle this new wave that's coming in and where do they empty out those people to the street the expiration of title 42 has also allowed human Smugglers to resume business as usual that is according to law enforcement officials in Zavala County Texas Breitbart reported on June 3rd that following a brief lullen activity on Texas roadways Sheriff's Office deputies in the rural County which is located 30 miles from the Rio Grande thwarted 15 migrant smuggling cases in the seven days prior and in all that was 44 migrants who were apprehended after being arrested by the deputies there has been an increase in fake families crossing the border people claiming that they are families using little kids as tools to get into the country this is particularly disturbing since Administration has ended DNA tests people can claim that they are families and they get into the country simple and free and stay indefinite the human smuggling in the area is not only creating an additional burden on the department it's also endangering residents in several cases suspected migrants and drivers were able to abscond from the vehicles and elude apprehension deputies reported several instances or up to 10 migrants managed to disappear into private inches and escape a source inside the Customs and Border Patrol tells us that more than 179 000 Lee Williams were apprehended in the month of May and on top of that 48 573 quote getaways were reported by border patrol and law enforcement that means that nearly 50 000 legal aliens got away from law enforcement in the month of May alone these gotaways will likely come into contact with border residents like these residents of Border communities I've had people trying to break into my home I've had I've been chased back to our house buying illegal you know our vehicles have been damaged we've had things around our property that have been damaged it is a constant struggle and the weight emotionally to never be able to actually let your guard down knowing what danger exists in your own brush on your own property it shouldn't be we shouldn't have to worry about anybody coming onto our property and knocking on our door in the middle of the night or surrounding the house and looking in my daughter's window in the middle of the day you know I've had them come to my doors knock on my windows it might be one it might be two and one particular night I had probably about 15 surround my house banging on my windows and banging on Me In addition to Legal immigrants and human Smugglers crossing the border are sources inside border patrol and law enforcement reports that rival cartels are waging turf wars in the Rio Grande Valley sector and according to reports multiple sources of information say that the cartel Del Norte have been kidnapping people sending them to training camps and forcing them to fight the cartel Jalisco Nuevo generation border patrol fears the violence will spill into Rio Grande City Texas in fact on June 5th DBS spokesman Lieutenant Chris Oliver As Told Breitbart that Troopers and National Guard soldiers work in the border under operation Lone Star averaging a group of five migrants two were armed with AR-15 style rifles that same Lieutenant said the men are believed to be connected to cartel Del Norris day he followed by saying that this is a prime example of the consequences of an unsecured border and that these include threats to National Security and Public Safety it's not only the cartels Smugglers and human traffickers who are becoming more Brazen on Monday at the Gateway international bridge in Brownsville Texas a group of illegal immigrants attempted to force their way into the United States by rushing a CBP official Port of Entry the action by the migrants forced Federal authorities to close down the international Port of Entry according to information provided by the U.S Customs and Border Protection at about 4 15 pm on Monday groups of migrants began congregating in the vicinity of the bridge Brownsville City Commissioner Pedro Cardenas shared on social media this video that capture the moment when migrants appeared to rush through the Mexican tollbooths at the Port of Entry [Music] um a second video captured the moment when migrants appeared to push through a CBP pedestrian barrier in the middle of the bridge and then run north in his post cardena said the city quote needed several plants since Brownsville has recently become one of the busiest border cities in the current immigration crisis but it isn't only the southern border the U.S that is being overrun by illegal immigrants human Smugglers and traffickers the northern border between the U.S and Canada is being overwhelmed as well Chief Patrol agent Robert Garcia of Swanson sector in Vermont revealed that his agents encountered more migrants in the last seven months than during all the previous five years combined this May 31st tweet which appears to show images of border patrol agents chasing a bearded man through the woods has a caption which reads quote since October 1st 2022 our agents have apprehended or encountered more subjects illegally crossing than our 2018 through 2022 cumulative total of 3796 people in May alone Swanton sector agents apprehended more than 450 migrants the total number of known border crosses this year is more than 5600 Leo aliens these may seem like relatively small numbers compared to those in the southern border but it offers more perspective by comparison during the past five fiscal years Swanton sector agents operated Less Than 3 100 migrants who illegally cross the Canadian border into parts of Northern New York Vermont and New Hampshire it's safe to say from accounts from both border patrol law enforcement and local residents at the southern and Northern borders of the U.S remain wide open and vulnerable well guys thank
