Normally I travel with my tote and my fanny pack but this year I'm also bringing a purse.
We do have a couple of nice dinners we want to go to so I want to have a more casual option
and a nicer dressier option. It also has this long strap which is perfect if I want to wear
it like this longer or across my body and I like that it has this little pouch attached
which is perfect for coins for Japan. So first everything I pack in my Uniqlo bag. I always bring
a claw clip because I always get really hot running around in the airport so I got this really cute
fluffy one. I think it's from Forever 21 and I usually just clip it on the side of my fanny pack
for easy access. I also always carry some hand sanitizer. This one is from Noshinku and I really
like it because it's so flat and compact so it doesn't take up a lot of space in my bag. I also
always bring hand lotion because my hands get super dry and I love this one from Salt and Stone.
It smells so freaking good. Of course always pack some sunglasses. I have really sensitive eyes so
I need this if I want to have any vision while I'm walking about the city and I just put it in
this old little sunglass bag that I have so that it doesn't get scratched up. Of course my passport
if not we're not going anywhere and my wallet. This was a gift from my aunt a couple years ago
and I'm obsessed with it. I use the crap out of it and it's held up so well. I just love that it's
so big and has space for cards but also a ton of space inside for bills or receipts or whatever
else you might need. And since we're going to Japan I have my two transport cards. I don't think that
you really need these anymore because now you can access them on your phone but I like to bring
them with me just in case and I also still have money in them so it'll come in handy.
And of course some chapstick. I love this one from Coco Kind. It's matcha flavored which is
weird because I don't like matcha but I've used the crap out of it. Like you can even see the
label it's discolored. This year I got this portable charger for Christmas and it's a
magnet and you just attach it to the back of your phone so it's gonna come in handy for our trip.
And now in my tote bag is the stuff that I put that's only for the plane. I don't carry too much
in it when I travel but I like to have it so when I come back with all my souvenirs I have a lot of
space for it. It's absolutely huge and I love that it has these pockets on either side so I can stick
my water bottle, umbrellas, my tripod, whatever I need. First I have my journal. I've mentioned it
before in another video. I write a little line in it each day so I just like to keep track of
everything that we did on a trip. So I bring this with me so I don't fall behind. And then of course
a pen. This is my favorite pen ever. It's from the brand U Brands from Target and it has a really
smooth matte feel if you need to fill out paperwork at the airport or at a hotel or anything like
that. Always good to have a pen. Then of course I bring my laptop and my noise cancelling headphones
are a must. I will not get on a plane without them so I love these. These are the Bose ones.
I've had them I think over a year now and they're holding up really well. I still absolutely love
them. This year I also want to work on a travel journal so I'm bringing this one with me that my
Japanese friend got me and it's really pretty. I just love how neutral it is and it just has clear
pages inside which will be perfect for adding pictures and writing what we did that day. I'm
really excited to get a little crafty. Then I always bring a water bottle. I got this one from
Ikea a couple years ago and I just like it because it's a very thin plastic and it's very lightweight
so it's not very heavy when you're out and about and I can always refill it later on. And last but
not least, I hate airplane food so I always bring a snack. This is my favorite granola. I like it
because it's high in protein and it's delicious. It tastes like chocolate cereal. It's really amazing
so I'll bring a whole bag of it so I have some to snack on on the way there and then also on the way
back. Then this year I also want to get a couple of film pictures. I just love the nostalgia of it
and I love how like grainy and low quality the pictures look so I'm really excited to just take
some fun pictures with this. This is the travel converter that I use from Tessan. It has a bunch
of different options for different countries and different areas but what I love about it is that
it has so many ports for you to charge with. So of course it has the plugs at the front but then it
also has these USB and USB-C at the bottom so I can charge multiple devices at the same time.
Regardless of how much time I'm going away on a trip, I always pack at least two pairs of pants.
So this time around I'm packing these jeans. They're a wide leg almost like cargo fit and I
just really love how they look. They're definitely more casual. Then I'm packing this other beigey
gray pants. Also wide leg. I love these big pockets. They're very like stylish. I'm definitely a jean
girly. I just love wearing jeans and especially because it's going to be a bit cool. I chose some
wide leg pants so that way I can have thermal leggings underneath. I'm bringing one pair of
thermal leggings and then I'm hoping to buy another one in Uniqlo once I'm there. Then I'm bringing
two t-shirts. These are from A New Day also from Target. Both of them I thrifted and this just as
additional layering piece for some warmth. I'm also bringing two sweaters. So I have this knit
one from Target A New Day and it's more of a cropped fit but it's very very thick. Then I
have this one from H&M. I love this color. It's really warm. I've worn it all winter long so you
can see it's already kind of pilling. I have to fix that but it's also really warm and squishy so I
thought it would be perfect. I also mentioned we're gonna go to some nice restaurants and I want to
have at least one dress option. It's so pretty. I love the print. I love the loose sleeves. I think
they're so pretty. And since it's going to be really cold I'm also bringing two coats. So I have
this one from H&M that's a really plush sherpa material. It's really soft, really cozy but I also
think it's more feminine and a little bit more dressy so I can wear it with the dress. And then
I have this one that's a little bit more of a bomber jacket style. I love all the pockets and
it's just really oversized. Also really warm and I like this one for a more casual look. Then for
accessories I'm bringing these little earmuffs. My ears get so cold and I just like earmuffs a
little bit more than wearing hats so this is a really good option. I'm also bringing this really
thick mohair scarf that I also got from H&M and a simple little belt that I thrifted which I think
would be perfect to just style up some of the outfits. For shoes I'm bringing my white nikes.
They're extremely beat up like you can tell so I'm hoping to buy a new pair of shoes while I'm
over there in Japan. And I'm also bringing these newer pairs of nikes which I think the colors
complement really well with the outfits I have picked. I also always pack some slippers just to
be comfortable in the hotels and especially in Japan where you have to remove your shoes.
And I have a little packing cube with all my socks and underwear and my pajamas.
A little pro tip, I always have my pajamas really easily accessible. That way whenever you get to
your destination you can literally just pop it out and you don't have to rummage through your
entire suitcase to find your pajamas when you're already like exhausted. So I always have them
easily accessible. Then tomorrow when I'm ready to leave I just need to pop in my toiletry bag
right here and then I'll close everything up. I've mentioned it before in a blog post that's
pretty old now so I have to update it but I have a travel uniform. I basically separate an entire
outfit out and my travel uniform consists of some sweatpants. I just want to be extremely comfortable
on all the flights that we have. Then a t-shirt and a sweatshirt on top. Usually I bring something
that is easy to remove so something with like a zipper down the middle but I got paint on my
zippered hoodie so I have to buy a new one. For now this sweatshirt will do. And I can always wear
these sweatpants and the sweatshirt to lounge around in our hotel or as pajamas if it gets a
more casual look. So they're multifunctional pieces that still work with my travel capsule
but this is specifically for traveling days. This is what I'm going to be wearing and I don't pack
it. I set it aside but I just love having a travel uniform because it's just one less thing that you
have to think about. And then this I'll wear with my Uniqlo bag, my white sneakers which are easy
to put on and off. Perfect for TSA. I bring one of my jackets with me on the plane because it'll be
cold when we're leaving and cold when we're getting there and so it takes up less space in my suitcase.
