All right.
So my name is Daryl J. Bennett.
Sorry about that.
So my name is Daryl J. Bennett.
I'm originally from Baltimore, Maryland.
But I came here to New York City.
Actually, kind of a funny story.
I graduated from Harvard Law School on a Thursday.
I was here on a Friday.
Didn't know anybody.
Didn't have any family here.
But this is where great people are made.
And I understood that this is where I needed to be.
So when I think about kindness being cool,
I think about the power of the collective human spirit.
You know, it's the ability to change lives
right where you are.
It's easy to just think, I'm just another person.
I'm just another voice.
What difference can I make?
But let me tell you something.
Every movement in history that has ever changed anything
at any point in time, it started with one voice,
one idea, one person in one room.
And then they got connected with other people.
And minds come together and it became a movement.
It became a movement, right?
And so here we don't just celebrate kindness.
We celebrate the power of the human spirit.
We celebrate the collective power of agreement.
And so I'm really excited to be here
to talk about compassion in a time
when compassion is under attack.
You know what I'm saying?
We're living in a time where things we took for granted
before we can no longer take for granted.
And you have to know that if you raise your mind,
you gotta raise your mind beyond your circumstances,
you can do anything.
Last thing I'm gonna say, together,
I'm gonna give you a teaser for my speech.
Individually, you're powerful.
Together, we're unstoppable.
That's what this is about, the power of togetherness.
Thank you all, I appreciate it.
