Hey, what's up guys? So welcome back to my channel. Well, today I want to show you something really
really beautiful. This place is called Caserta and behind me, this magnificent building,
it's actually a royal palace of Caserta. And today we're going to check it out
because I think this is one of the most beautiful things around Naples. And of course since I'm here
I decided to come to come up here and check it out and show it to you as well.
So let's go see the royal palace of Caserta.
Well, ladies and gentlemen, the royal palace of Caserta was built back in 18th century
and used to belong to royal families of Naples. Yes, back in the days when Italy was divided into
different kingdoms, Naples had its own kingdom. I believe it used to be called the kingdom of two
Sicilies, something like that. And this particular place was one of their main residences. That's why
this palace is that huge and not for nothing it has around 1200 rooms. Yeah, it's gigantic.
Well, ladies and gentlemen, I don't know about you, but this place is tremendously gorgeous.
It's, well, it's a royal palace, of course it's going to be tremendously gorgeous, but
this is just incredible. Wow. I'm so glad I actually made it all the way here because,
you know, it's located not exactly in Naples. You gotta take a train
and the ride is about like 50 minutes, but, you know, it's totally worth it. But,
again, you have to come early. You have to come early because the place gets packed.
Not for nothing, guys, this is a palace of art and palace of history on top of, you know, being palace
of royal family, obviously. But, wow, incredible place. So much art, so much history, so much
beauty in here. It's just, you know, amazing. I love visiting places like this. Well, and I guess
since you're watching this video, you're probably on the same page with me. Well, I hope, you know.
But, yeah, not for nothing. Europe got a lot of interesting places and, you know what, I just
recently discovered this place while I was in Naples. I was talking to people and they told me,
like, hey, there is a pretty interesting royal palace. I was like, I've never heard of it.
They were like, yeah, go check it out. So, here I am and it's magnificent.
It's truly a magnificent place.
The royal palace of Caserta is the largest former royal residence in the world, covering a floor
space of 138,000 square meters, which are distributed in the five stories of this building.
The palace has 1,200 rooms, as I mentioned before, including 26 state apartments, 1,742 windows,
34 staircases, 1,026 fireplaces, a large library and the theater modeled after the Teatro di San
Carlo of Naples. The palace itself is a great example of Baroque architecture with an amazing
collection of art being displayed here as well. It is truly a masterpiece and this masterpiece
is open to public and welcoming thousands of tourists annually from all over the world.
In 1997, this place was designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
A few tips to keep in mind if you're planning to visit this place.
Come early. The place opens at 8.30 in the morning. Purchase your tickets online for
a specific time. They actually do have 8.30 a.m. tickets, so if you want to come in at 8.30,
please do so. Especially if you like taking pictures or videos, your best time to come early
because the tourist groups are coming at 9 a.m., so you have about 30-40 minutes of this place being
empty. And during daytime, guys, it does get packed with tourists. A lot of tourist buses I've seen
around like noon, so yeah, if you want to come to this place to take pictures or, you know, take
videos, come early. If you're staying in Naples, then take a train. It's a regional train which
runs from Naples station to Caserta station. You will not miss this stop because it's the last stop
for that train. The ride is about 50 minutes, so if you're planning to come for 8.30 a.m.,
make sure to leave Naples at 7.30 the latest. And yeah, enjoy the trip. The palace is not the
only thing which you can visit here. They do have a park attached to this property. This park was
constructed back in 1753 as a baroque extension of formal vistas. It does have some incline,
so when you're walking in the park, you're going towards the hill, and that's where another
awesome viewpoint located. To walk the whole park, it took me about 30 minutes,
but if you don't feel like walking this whole stretch, or you have an injury, or some old folks
with you, then take a free shuttle bus which will bring you to several points in this park.
It's actually very much convenient.
So,
alright guys, one important thing about this park. If you want to visit the park and the royal palace,
you have to buy a specific ticket, because a lot of people just come here, you know,
to walk in the park. That's it. But if you want to visit the palace, you know, it's a combo ticket.
So, we got to go for that particular one, because I've seen a couple tourists who actually purchased
the ticket, and they wanted to go inside the palace, but their ticket was only for the park.
So, yeah, don't do that. If you want to visit the park and the palace, purchase the combo ticket.
Alrighty.
Well, ladies and gentlemen, at this very moment, I want to say thank you so much for your time.
Thank you for watching. I hope you really enjoyed this video from the royal palace of Kaserta.
