100 Hours To Meet Messi.

I have 100 hours to meet Lionel Messi and he's right behind me.
But meeting Messi is harder than ever before. He literally has a bodyguard protecting him at all
times, who is a trained fighter and will sprint to tackle anyone if they come close to him.
But that isn't going to stop me on my mission to meet the best footballer of all time, Leo.
The timer has started and I have the best seats in the house to watch Messi,
but I don't just want to watch him, I want to meet him. Let's go.
Messi isn't the only person I want to meet in this video,
so I needed to check that David Beckham was in the stadium.
Is David Beckham in the house?
I'm not sure.
Ah, let me know if he comes.
He is.
He is?
And so was another man I wanted to meet tonight.
You're the bodyguard.
How are you?
What's happening? We were with Denis Buanga.
Ah, Denis Buanga. Yeah, I know him. He's from France.
Yeah, yeah. He said he knows you. We filmed with him two days ago. He said this hits you up,
make muscles, you know?
We're trying to meet Messi. We have 100 hours. Do you think we have any chance?
Will you stop me if I run?
Lovely to meet you, man.
Thank you.
He's the main obstacle, but we've made friends with the main obstacle. That's a good sign.
So just seconds after arriving, I'd already met one of my targets,
but I had also heard that there was another mystery footballer at the game tonight,
and now it was time to check out my VIP suite.
This is nice.
There'll be a man on the wall, David Beckham.
We want to meet him too. There's unfinished business, but this is the guy.
Nice to meet you, Leo.
I'm going to take anything, by the way.
Fist bump, high five, hola.
He locks eyes with me and says anything, it counts.
But now it was time to head out and check out my view for the game.
This is my seat.
Row one, seat one.
And this is the pitch right here.
If he walks past, I'm getting him.
I'm getting a hello.
I'm meeting Messi tonight.
As I was stood admiring my view,
one person who did walk past me was David Beckham's best friend, David Gardner.
So as he came back, I made sure to introduce myself.
David, how are you?
I'm John. Nice to meet you.
How's things?
Do you think David Beckham will walk along here at any stage?
Afterwards, we might get a high five.
That sounds like a chance to me.
But now it was time to get back to my mission of meeting Messi.
Apparently, the players are coming out in a minute for their warm-ups.
So I headed down the corridor and snuck past security into the players' tunnel.
So I headed back into the corridor where a player was about to walk right towards me.
How's it going, man?
Good, how are you?
How are you?
Good.
Players are here, which means Messi's coming soon.
So the players will all walk out here.
He's going to be right there.
He's literally going to be within feet.
He's going to be within touching distance.
I just hope this door doesn't close.
If this door closes, it's going to be like, ah!
OK, it's time.
It's time.
Question.
I take it the changing rooms are up there on the right.
They're going to come down here.
And you're going to close this door on me, aren't you?
Where's the best place if you wanted to be near Messi to be?
So I took the security guard's advice and headed to the other side of the tunnel
where all the celebrities' boxes were located.
And within seconds, the security guard opened the door to let a celebrity through.
He's so big.
And I was right, as Messi's children walked right past me one by one.
And then just like that, Messi's wife appeared.
Stop down here.
Yeah, yeah, down here.
But it didn't stop there, as I was about to meet one of David Beckham's sons.
Hey, ma'am.
How you doing?
That close.
That was literally Messi's wife and David Beckham's son.
But now it was time for the players to walk out the tunnel to warm up.
Literally the opposition.
So enter Miami are coming now.
And I was right, as Messi's teammates started to appear.
There's some players.
They're the goalkeepers.
That's how close they're going to be.
And then down the tunnel, I saw Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba before Lionel Messi appeared.
As the boys give me a hello.
He gave me a hello.
He literally didn't get it.
He said hello.
He literally nodded at me.
Oh, it doesn't count.
He looked me in the eye and nodded.
Locked eyes.
And he went, I swear to God, it was me.
He locked eyes.
It's actually really surreal.
Like you're literally looking at Lionel Messi.
Crazy.
But we don't take hollow victories on this channel.
We send it.
Come on.
But while I didn't manage to meet Messi.
Luckily, my seat was right next to where the teams warmed up.
But unfortunately for me, the opposition were on my side.
We're on the wrong side.
They're right here.
But it's the wrong team.
It's the wrong team.
But although I was disappointed, I enjoyed watching the opposition players warm up right
in front of me.
And the ball even came right to me.
We're going to be enter Miami.
But meeting Messi isn't my only mission tonight.
So while he's out in the pitch warming up, I'm going to buy a gift for a subscriber.
And thanks to Revolut, I have a £20 budget.
Which you can also get for free by signing up to the financial super app used by over
50 million people.
Just sign up using my link in the description or scan the QR code over this guy's head.
Then use your card and you'll get £20 for free.
You could buy anything with your £20.
But I've decided to buy a scarf.
Excuse me, can I pay in pounds?
In pounds, no.
We only have dollars and cards.
Ah, but it's OK because even though I have to pay in dollars, I know I'll get an exceptional
exchange rate with Revolut.
Which exchanges currencies automatically in the app.
So I can pay with the pounds in my account and they'll convert it to dollars just like
that.
And because I have a Revolut Metal card, I can exchange unlimited amounts of money.
So I can buy as much as I want in other currencies with no additional fees.
And if that's not enough, Revolut Metal includes comprehensive travel insurance and
is packed full of perks and subscriptions.
And now all I need to do is find a subscriber to give this to.
Excuse me guys, I have a question.
Do you subscribe to my YouTube channel?
I don't.
Ah, you could have got a gift.
But after another rejection, this young man approached me.
Are you a subscriber?
Yeah, I watch your videos.
Well, we got a scarf.
For you.
All right, my man.
Thank you.
So go and get your £20 for free to buy yourself whatever you want by signing up to Revolut
using my link and using your card once.
And while I couldn't meet any inter-Miami players pitchside, I was about to meet another
of David Beckham's sons.
Romeo, it's nice to meet you man.
But then I spotted a signed inter-Miami shirt which was just handed to a man in my box.
20, David Beckham?
23.
Have you ever heard of him?
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Unbelievable man.
So now I knew David Beckham was definitely here tonight, my attention turned back to
how I could meet Messi.
And I got chatting to some new friends in the box next to mine.
These are regular goers and I'm getting some insight.
So when can we meet him?
Oh, at the tunnel at the end of the game.
Normally he comes through.
This way?
Yeah.
Okay, so there's a chance?
There's a chance.
Have you ever had a fist bump?
Yeah.
I need to get a sharpie.
We have a sharpie.
Oh, I got to stand with you at the end of the game.
All right.
Well, the best thing we can do is pray for a win.
Yes.
Oh yeah, if there's a loss, it's bad.
Oh, if it's a loss, you've got no chance.
Tell the camera, you told me another footballer's coming here?
Yes.
Nice, yeah?
We're going to meet Paul.
That's amazing.
Well, look lovely to meet you.
We're here all night.
Thank you for watching the videos.
I'm going to come back to you.
You're going to be my own.
Yeah.
You're pros.
We got you.
I think we're going to meet him after the game, but it all depends on a win.
It literally all depends on a win.
Apparently if they win, that's their exit outside our suite,
and you can stand and get like a fist bump, get something safe.
We're going to do it.
I feel like we're going to do it.
But with the teams about to head out for kickoff, it was time to head to the tunnel.
Excuse me, do you play?
Yeah.
You play? Are you injured?
No, I just wasn't dropping.
Oh, man.
Have you met Messi before?
We're trying to meet him tonight.
Do you think we've got any chance?
You're the same.
Well, let me know if you find him.
What's your name?
Max.
Max, lovely to meet you.
I'm John.
Let's go.
I've got a spring in my step.
Once I crossed over the tunnel, I resumed my position and quickly made some new friends.
We're recording a video, 100 hours to meet Messi.
So we're trying our best to meet Leo.
We're very lucky.
Oh, you get lucky?
Yeah, I get lucky all the time.
And it didn't take long for them to pass their luck on to me,
as I was about to meet another of my targets.
How are we doing?
Oh, good, man.
David, lovely to meet you, man.
How's things?
It's happening.
But things were only getting better as Lionel Messi appeared in the tunnel.
And after shouting his name from behind the glass door, he looked directly at me.
I'll see you after the game.
And now it was time to watch Messi in action.
So I took my seat pitch side and watched the greatest footballer of all time kick off in
front of me.
Then in true Lionel Messi style, just minutes into the game, he produced some magic.
We need a win, and that's a good start.
But although Lionel Messi was just meters away from me,
it seemed impossible to meet him during the match until the ball started bouncing towards me.
Come on, come on, Leo.
Oh, imagine.
It's right there.
Imagine.
It was all going so well.
And as I sat back and watched Messi produce more magic right in front of me,
it looked like Inter Miami were going to run away with the game
until disaster struck and they had a player sent off.
A red card is bad news.
We need them to win because if they lose, he'll just leave and there'll be nothing.
Whereas if they win, they'll be in good spirits and he'll come around and say hello to people.
We need them to win.
And although Messi was angry with the referee,
it would all be fine if Inter Miami could avoid conceding from the free kick.
But then unbelievably, they did.
And to make it worse,
the goal scorer did Cristiano Ronaldo's celebration right in front of Messi.
And although Messi came close to another assist,
at halftime, the score was 1-1.
Wow.
Leo!
We'll get him at full time.
I'm John, nice to meet you.
You come every game?
Yes.
Amazing.
Big supporter.
Yeah, yeah.
Listen, he's a player too.
Oh, you play?
Nice to meet you, I'm John.
He's injured right now.
Ah, nice to meet you, man.
I'm recording a video with him in 100 hours to meet Messi.
Do you think we have a chance?
You gotta go through Yacine.
I met Yacine.
You met Yacine?
He seems a nice guy.
If Yacine says yes.
I have a chance.
We might get him afterwards in the corridor.
And just after we were speaking about him,
I spotted Messi's bodyguard in my new friend's private box.
Messi's bodyguard is in the next bloody thing.
Just say nothing.
There's a chance they can make this happen.
Just make friends.
So with the second half underway,
Messi was now on the opposite side of the pitch.
But I was feeling positive.
He's all the way over there.
But I'm not too worried.
Full time, we'd have a chance.
We'd have a big chance to meet some friends.
But they need to win.
We need to win.
But then seconds later, the worst possible thing happened,
as Miami conceded another goal.
That's shocking news.
That's really bad news.
And now my chances of meeting Messi were slipping away from me.
As the clock ticked towards full time,
Messi was doing all he could to get his team level.
But nothing was working.
And then in the 10th minute of added time,
Messi produced a moment of brilliance.
The dream is starting to feel like it's coming alive.
It's going to happen.
I'm manifesting.
It's going to happen.
But as the referee blew the full time whistle,
it was clear that Messi wasn't as happy with the draw as I was.
But while Messi was arguing with the referee,
I went to introduce myself to World Cup winner Paul Pogba.
Excuse me, Paul.
Nice to meet you.
I'm John.
How are you?
Lovely to meet you, man.
England.
Ireland.
How are you, I'm John.
Nice to meet you.
You're out in Miami now?
Yeah, for a bit.
For a bit.
You back to France?
No, I don't think so.
Not France?
We'll see.
It's lovely to meet you, man.
I'm doing a challenge.
I'm trying 100 hours to meet Lionel Messi.
Do you think I can do it?
Well, today I don't think you're going to.
No?
Usually when, I don't know, probably.
A draw?
Maybe?
No clue the way he's going back.
Yeah, it's not looking good.
Good luck.
Thank you, man.
I appreciate it.
It's lovely to meet you.
What is life?
Crazy.
Messi's just gone in.
He does not look happy.
I don't know about our chances, but we have to try.
But one Inter Miami player I was going to meet was winger Robert Taylor.
Nice to meet you.
Well played, man.
Did you enjoy it?
I loved it.
Absolutely.
I'll be back for the next game.
Oh yeah, nice.
I'll see you score.
Oh man, I should have scored today.
Nice to meet you, man.
Is it time?
If it doesn't happen tonight, it's going to happen on Tuesday.
We'll do everything we can to help support you.
Really?
Everything we can.
This is a tip.
This is what I need.
We look for the kids.
Those are their kids.
Where?
Oh, playing.
You've done this before.
We might get kicked out before then.
If the kids leave, Messi leaves.
If the kids are playing, he's still here.
Okay.
Hanging out.
I actually think this is going to happen because we've met the best possible people for this task.
They're incredible.
So with Messi's children still playing football on the pitch,
I went to the corridor where I was about to bump into two more people I wanted to meet.
Can I just bottle it?
Can I just bottle it live on camera?
Messi's next?
There's Beckham.
I met Beckham quickly.
Oh, he's gone.
I met him very quickly, but he's tough for anyone.
He's gone.
He's gone, man.
He's gone.
You can't sprint to the man.
I'm a man.
But although I missed out on biscuits and Alba, Messi still hadn't left the stadium.
Do you think we have a chance?
I mean, the police officer that took down is going to come back,
and he's not as perfect right now.
And one by one, the Inter-Miami players started heading down the corridor.
Players are coming.
It is my moment.
It is actually the moment.
It's going to happen.
It is?
I don't like everybody to go inside.
That's what you're only going to do.
Footsteps, you're going to just like open the door and like ring it.
Okay.
He's saying that he's a pro.
He's saying like, they'll tell us to go inside.
And when we hear footsteps, we come out.
They're going to try and put us back in, but we won't listen.
He's proper rebel, isn't he?
And then security tried forcing us back into the box,
which meant a big player was about to walk right towards me.
Oh my God.
Luis, nice to meet you.
Safe home.
Nice to meet you.
All the best, man.
But although I had met Luis Suarez, I still needed to meet Messi.
And as more security guards appeared, we were asked to head back inside to our box.
We've got everyone on our side, honestly.
These are incredible.
When they come through, she's going to let you guys come out, okay?
Nice.
Yes, you're the best.
When I haven't made it yet, you're the one to make it happen.
This is the moment.
Are you hiding as well?
Are you trying to make Leo?
We all are.
Now all we needed to do was wait for a knock at the door.
And as I headed outside, I saw Lionel Messi standing in the corridor.
He's right there, but he's got his bodyguard with him, so it's not for sure.
That's just Lionel Messi.
But it was clear that security were going to do everything possible to stop me from meeting Messi.
And then Lionel Messi started walking right towards me.
Leo, nice to meet you.
Lovely to meet you.
Thank you.
We did it.
I got out of here.
