Hey there, April of Yes2Next here with my mom, Aiko.
Welcome to day two of the New Year Get Fit Challenge.
So congratulations on making it through day one.
Excellent work on showing up.
All right, so today we have a cardio and strength workout.
We're gonna be adding more minutes
into that 150-minute goal of cardio this week.
And this will count for one of your strength training
sessions as well, okay?
All right, so the cardio portion is going to consist
of two sets of five exercises.
We're gonna do each set twice in 30-second rounds, okay?
Flat pyramid.
That's right, right.
Just steady as she goes, right?
Okay, and so again, you wanna go at your own pace.
If this exercise is new for you, no problem.
You know, check out this workout.
Do as much as you can and just go at your own pace.
Or check out one of our other videos.
We have videos ranging from five to 50 minutes.
So check those out.
And we even have stretching videos, okay?
So just start where you are and build up slowly.
Good idea.
Okay, all right.
Now the other thing is,
did you see the secret word yesterday?
Yes.
Right.
And so look out for the secret word today
because if you'd like to submit an entry
for our New Year sweepstakes,
you'll need to collect all of them
and then send them to us.
How many are there?
All the directions.
There are seven.
Wow.
Okay, we're doing this for seven days, so yes.
All right.
So yeah, again, don't need any equipment for this workout.
Make sure you have water handy.
Stay hydrated and clear the area.
So mom, any questions?
Or how are you feeling about this challenge
and starting the new year?
Ready to go, I'm ready to go.
All right.
Starting the new year off with a good workout, it's good.
That's great.
All right, so yes.
Everybody, great work on showing up.
All right, so we're gonna take a quick pause here
and we'll get started with a warmup on the other side.
Okay, great.
Let's start by just marching it out.
Very good.
Now, this is not a walking workout per se,
but you know what?
It counts as steps, right?
So I know a lot of us are counting our steps
and that's excellent, right?
You're going for a 10,000 step goal.
This can all go toward that.
Everything helps.
Okay, so good for you.
And it's all about just keeping moving, okay?
Just move, move, move.
Now, we always say we want you to have good posture.
Ears, shoulders, hips, knees, all in alignment.
It's in my brain.
Right?
Okay, so you have to kind of think about,
be conscious of your body,
you know, as you're just kind of going out through your day.
So make sure that you kind of get those shoulders back.
And we also have a posture video you can check out
to strengthen muscles that can improve your posture.
So keep going.
We're gonna do some side steps next.
Side step.
This way.
Go this way.
Little coordination that we need to get down.
Gotta make up for that.
Here we go.
Hey, good work.
We're trying.
Nice work.
Yes, a little side step hiccup there.
And breathe, everyone.
It's very important.
Make sure that you breathe
and get oxygen to your muscles as you exercise.
Hey, march it out.
Good work.
Okay, nice work.
Let's give me some heel touches forward.
Good.
Very nice.
Keep going and breathe.
Okay, very nice.
Hey, give me some shoulder rolls back.
Good work.
Okay.
And forward.
I want you to give me some mini squat.
Mini squat.
Good.
Yep.
And four, three.
Good.
Two and one.
And march it out.
Nice work.
We're gonna go into those side steps
because I wanna get those down, mom.
Okay, side step to the right.
Here we go.
Step it.
Good.
Ooh, we got that one.
Good work.
Give me four more.
Four, three.
Good.
Two and one.
March it out.
Nice work.
Good work.
I'm gonna give you some side diagonal reaches next, okay?
Good.
I'm gonna reach to the right and to the left.
Good.
And four more.
Good.
Three, two, and one.
Very nice.
March it out.
Okay, you feeling warmed up, mom?
Getting there, yeah.
Okay, good.
Give me some head tilts.
You wanna close this thing out, okay?
To your right.
Head tilt.
And center.
Head tilt.
And center.
Look to your right.
And center.
To your left.
And center.
Very nice.
Give me some shoulder rolls.
Two, three, four.
And forward.
Three and four.
And rest.
Very nice.
Nice work on this warmup.
We're gonna take a quick pause here
and get started with our cardio workout.
Let's march it out.
Nice work on that warmup.
Okay, so our first exercise is gonna be a step
with a diagonal to the rear.
So it's step and diagonal, okay?
Just like that.
Okay, good work.
Okay.
And we're on for 30 seconds here.
Yeah.
So again, go at your own pace.
You may be going faster or slower than my mom and me.
And that is all good.
This is all about, right.
It's all about making the workout your own, okay?
Good, remember the turtle.
The turtle and the hare?
The tortoise, I think it's the tortoise.
It's the tortoise and the hare, that's right.
Good work.
Okay.
Coming up on this, three seconds, and march it out.
Good work.
Again, you're getting your steps in, so good for you.
All right, I'm gonna demonstrate the next move.
And basically a grapevine, if you know what that is.
Or it's a three-step to the side with a press.
So it looks like this for beginners.
One, two, three, and press.
And we're on.
And press our grapevine.
And press.
Your favorite.
And press.
And press, good.
And press.
Keep going.
Oh, it looks good.
And breathe.
I'm breathing.
Good.
Very nice.
Okay, keep it going.
Looking good.
A few more seconds here.
And march it out.
Good work, mom.
Yeah.
All right.
So the next move is basically a single step
with a punch up, okay?
So we're just gonna step and punch, step and punch, okay?
Punch, okay?
And we are on.
So go to the right.
Punch, good.
That's it.
Looks good.
And we're getting those arms above the head,
making that heart work, getting that heart rate up.
Good work.
Very nice.
And breathe.
Look good.
Another 10 seconds.
Nice work.
This is a pretty long time, you know?
It is, it is.
And again, you go at your own pace here, right?
March it out.
Okay, good work.
All right.
Next move, we're gonna be traveling forward and back.
Uh-oh.
Okay, we're going one, two, three,
and we're gonna kick it.
Okay, so it's gonna look like-
It's like a dance move here.
Yes, it is.
We're kind of walking and dancing at the same time.
So it's one, two, three, and kick,
and back, two, three, and kick.
Okay, so here we go.
We're on one, two, three, and kick.
One, two, three, kick.
One, two, three, yes.
Yes, keep it going.
Good, that's one, two, three.
And breathe.
Looks good, everybody.
Very nice.
I'm gonna-
I'm gonna ask you where you're going
on your little dance walk here.
I'm always for that hot dog.
I'm sorry.
Uh-oh.
I'm gonna start the year off right.
I might have a jumbo hot dog.
Celebratory jumbo hot dog with all the fixings, right?
Absolutely.
Wow, okay.
That's really good.
All right, so our next move,
we're just gonna stop our feet, actually.
We're just gonna do,
we're gonna hit our hips,
hit our hips, and put our hands up to the sky.
Hey, go over, on.
And sky, sky.
So hip, hip, sky, sky, good.
Very nice.
Hip, hip, sky, sky.
So it's right, left, right, left, good.
This is coordination, right?
It is.
My brain has a hard time catching up with this stuff.
Good.
It's a simple move.
It's right, left, right, left.
Yeah, well, it's good coordination.
Hey, good work on this first round.
Okay, take a sip of water.
We're gonna be here for just a little bit.
I want you to rest.
Nice work on this first round of five exercises.
Hey, we're gonna do that one more time.
Give you an opportunity to get those moves down.
I might need more practice.
Right?
In my brain.
All right, okay.
All right, keep it marching.
We're marching, marching, marching,
getting our steps in.
Very good.
Yeah, that's a good idea, steps in.
That's right, get your steps in.
So we have basically another few sec,
no, I don't know, 20 seconds here.
So just get your steps in.
Breathe.
Think about your goal.
My mom's thinking about that hot dog.
But you know, the fact that you showed up today
is really impressive, so really good work for you.
Absolutely.
All right, so congratulations.
Just keep moving.
Yes.
Okay, breathe, everybody.
Okay, that first move, again,
it's gonna be that step and that diagonal
with the back foot, right?
Okay, and it looks like this step and diagonal, right?
Okay, good, we're on.
Good, yep.
Like that with the arms, excellent.
Breathe.
Very nice.
Keep going.
Mommy, you look like you're ready for the boxing ring.
Good job.
Oh, you might punch me out first.
Well, we could actually punch each other out
with this formation here.
Good work.
And breathe.
Nice work.
Good, and march it out.
Who said 10,000 steps is the thing?
Who said that?
Yeah.
Well, it's nothing scientific.
You can look it up on the internet
as to how it was formed.
It's a company or a man in Japan
who just chose 10,000 steps, you know, for a company.
Okay, oh, we have to go step, step, step, punch up.
And press side, oh, sorry.
Yep.
Yeah.
You can look it up, look it up on the web
about the origin of that.
But the whole point is, you know, just to get moving.
So that's great.
That's just a round figure.
Yes, it is.
It's a nice, easy figure to remember.
Yeah.
Right?
So that's all good, I think.
Keep going.
And breathe.
And it's very nice.
Okay, march it out.
Very good.
These rounds go very fast, huh?
Sure do.
I'm getting used to it.
I know.
Good work.
Uh-oh.
Oh.
Uh-oh.
You're running a marathon soon.
Well, let's not go that far.
Let's do something like marathon dance-a.
Dance-a, dancing.
Okay, so we're gonna do a single step
with the punch up next.
So single step, punch up.
Punch up.
Good.
And breathe.
Good work, everyone.
You're getting your heart rate up.
Yeah.
You're working your muscles.
Yeah.
This is like a full body.
It's good.
Workout here.
Oh, very nice.
Yeah, it is good.
Keep going.
The heart is a muscle.
It needs to work.
That's right.
As is your brain.
Yeah.
Okay, your brain needs to work it out.
Okay, very nice.
Okay, we're gonna be traveling up and back
with those one, two, three kicks.
Okay.
Okay?
And march it out.
Good work.
Yeah.
Breathe, everyone.
Very nice.
Okay, so it's that one, two, three, and kick.
One, two, three, and kick.
One, two, three.
Good.
And kick.
And breathe.
And kick.
Good.
Nice.
And it's funny how you keep doing this.
You find yourself actually speeding up sometimes, right?
Yeah, I find myself doing it, yeah.
You know, and actually, that's a pretty good indication
that your body's getting used to the movement.
Yeah.
And that's very good.
All right, so good for you.
Yeah.
The more you do any type of move, excuse me,
the easier it gets, and the better you get at it.
Absolutely.
So stay with it, everyone.
Okay, remember, the next one is your little dance move,
that hip-hip-sky-sky.
Hip-hip-sky-sky.
Okay?
Demonstrate, it's just a right, left, right, and left.
Right, left, right, and left.
Keep it going.
Brain is working.
Your brain is working.
You may feel you're engaging your midsection here,
you know, your core, your abs, your obliques,
your back muscles.
Your hips don't move, though, right?
No, hips don't move,
but you probably feel your midsection engage here, right?
Be able to move your hands from side to side
and up and down.
Okay, very good.
Okay, nice work.
Okay, we're here for a little bit,
because we're going to go into our next set
of five exercises.
Sounds good.
All right, so take a breather.
Very nice.
Look at my mom being super achiever here,
getting her steps in.
Nice work.
Okay.
And I am taking a sip of water.
Make sure that you stay hydrated.
It's important for your blood to have water.
Why is that?
Because water goes to your blood.
Blood transports nutrients and oxygen throughout your body,
so it's very important to stay hydrated.
Okay?
All right.
Oh, hello there.
Nice little guy.
Come on in.
Where were you when you went?
That's right.
Stepping in at the end, I can see.
That's right.
Okay, so keep it going.
And now our first move in our second set
is going to be basically a Charleston move.
Okay?
So it looks like this.
It's basically step with right and step it left,
step back left and right.
That's all it is.
Okay?
Just like we're dancing.
Yeah.
Okay?
Hang on.
It's just practice, and we're going to be on now.
So step, step, step, and back.
Good.
That's right.
You can get your arms involved.
That's right.
I want to put some little dance moves in here.
Okay, good.
They knew how to do it back in the 20s.
They sure did.
If you see some of the costumes
that the women used to wear, they're beautiful.
Oh, you're so right.
Just style, it's very flowing and soft.
That's right.
Oh, you're so right.
Sometimes they add sparkles too.
Okay, great.
All right, very nice.
Okay, now this next move is another kind of dancing move.
So I'm going to demonstrate this one, okay?
I think you should.
It's basically two steps to the right, two steps to the left.
So it looks like this, right?
But I'm going to add some arms in.
You're going to have your arm at a 90 degree angle.
Going to be up and up, up and up.
Good.
Up and up.
So it's pull up, pull up, pull up, pull up.
Let's go to the left.
Good.
And to the right.
And left.
Good.
That's right, mom.
Go.
I'm trying.
Okay, pull and up, pull and up.
Down, up, down and up.
And march it out.
That one's a little challenging, okay?
It's my coordination.
That's okay.
It's most important to get the feet moving.
I wanted to put some arms and legs into it.
Yeah, my feet were moving.
It was my hands and the arms.
Yeah, so basically down, up, down, up.
You have another try at that, okay?
All right, so the next move is just going to be a knee up.
Knee up, up.
Yeah, touch it, good.
So you're weight shifting here, okay?
Weight shifting.
Right and left.
Good work.
Keep going.
This is very important for balance.
Yeah, balance.
You know?
Yeah.
This lateral move can help strengthen your legs.
Yeah, everyone thinks you have balance
until they start doing some of these exercises
and you realize.
That's right.
You realize you have muscles
that you didn't know were there, right?
Yeah.
Okay, very good.
And march it out.
Very nice.
The next move is a simpler move.
You're just gonna be stepping it out, okay?
Looks like this.
Just basically step out.
Step out.
Good, step it out.
And step it out, okay?
Okay, we're on now.
Good, step it out.
And out, good.
Out and out.
Very nice.
Out, out, yep.
Keep going.
Good work.
And breathe.
Yeah, your heart's thanking you right now.
Absolutely.
And you know, your brain and muscles,
you're creating those connections
between your brain and your muscles
make this movement happen.
So that's great for coordination.
So get stronger, get stronger.
Yeah, absolutely.
And march it out.
Good work.
Okay.
Now, the fifth move in this little series
is basically stepping it to the side and arms up.
Okay?
Okay.
And arms up.
And good.
Okay, so step it up and up.
Okay?
Amping it up here.
You're ramping it up?
Yeah, I'm amping it up with a little hop
if you want to do that.
That's okay.
I'll let you take care of that.
Okay.
Just to show you what's popping.
The bunny hop.
Wasn't there a dance called the bunny hop?
There was.
Gosh, it's in the recesses of my memory.
Gosh, I'm dating myself.
And up.
And march it out.
Good work, everyone.
Okay, take a little bit of break here.
Really nice work.
Okay, rest.
I'm fine.
Okay, get your steps in.
Keep going.
Nice work.
Okay, give everybody rest.
Take a sip of water.
I'm fine.
Don't take a nap, though.
No naps allowed.
All right.
Cuff looks good, though.
Very enticing.
That can be a goal, too.
March is off, so that means it's room for me.
That's right.
But you can only go to the couch after you work out
and after you're cooled down and you're in water.
Oh, okay.
That's when you can sit down.
Okay, so keep it marching.
Get those sweet feet going.
And this is a freestyle.
You can go up, back, whatever you want with this section.
Okay, keep going.
March it out.
We're here for another 20.
And then we're gonna go back into that Charleston move.
Yeah?
Okay.
All right.
That was wonderful.
It's coming up.
Yeah, it's coming up next.
Our last set of five.
So, good work.
All right, we're starting with that right foot.
Okay?
And here we go.
We are on.
So, step forward, back.
That's it.
You can get those arms going.
And breathe.
Very nice.
Yep.
You can make this your own.
And breathe.
Good job.
And breathe.
Nice.
Okay.
And march it out.
Okay.
All right.
Your favorite move is coming up next.
Okay, basically, I'm gonna demonstrate this
so you can get it.
So, it's stepping it up, stepping it up,
stepping it up, stepping it up.
Okay?
So, it's down and up, down and up,
down and up, down and up.
Okay?
And we're on.
So, down and up, down and up, down and up.
Okay?
Down, up, and up.
Okay?
And up.
Good mom, that looks great.
And up.
Like, Brian is really hard here, working hard.
You're doing great.
Down and up.
And up.
Good.
This is the last time you're gonna see it,
so good for you.
Thank goodness.
I won't miss it.
March it out.
Good work, everyone.
Applause all around.
Very nice.
Okay, next one, next.
We're now on the down slope, okay?
Okay.
We're coasting in.
All right.
Okay?
Next one is the knee up.
Okay, so we're starting with that right knee up.
Okay, so right knee up.
And left.
Good.
And left.
And breathe.
Good job.
If you want to ramp this up, you can.
You can go up.
This is a good balance move.
Yes, it sure is.
And up.
Good work.
And breathe.
Very nice.
Keep it going.
You can even, like, do a little hop if you want.
Now we're gonna show off a little bit.
And up.
And march it out.
Good work.
Okay.
Yeah, we'll do a little show off move if you want.
But this is our last two exercises,
so make it good, okay?
All right, make it good.
I know you can do this.
So, nice work.
All right.
The next one is just a one leg step out.
Punch.
Okay.
Good, and we're on.
Go.
Nice work.
Okay, keep it going.
Step it out and punch.
Yep.
And see, you can even speed it up if you want
or slow it down.
This is yours, so do that.
But just know that we're almost at the end here,
so make it good.
And breathe.
Nice.
And march it out.
Good work.
Okay.
Last exercise, everyone.
Everyone.
Don't hang in there.
Yeah, everyone's looking good.
Okay.
Basically, that's step, arms up.
And arms up, okay?
Okay, I'll tell you when,
but I just want to demonstrate.
And we're on.
Now, go up and up.
Yep.
And if you wanted to wrap this up,
you can do it.
Just like shooting a basket.
Good.
Nice work.
Okay, keep going.
Just another 10 seconds and we're done.
We're getting to the end here.
Yes.
Breathe.
Just around the corner,
I can see the light at the tunnel.
And the hot dog stand.
And march it out.
Good job, people.
Nice work, everyone.
Okay.
Time to cool it down, okay?
Just march it out.
Really good work.
At least two rounds of five exercises.
It's good.
Okay?
All right, give me some side steps.
Gentle.
And cool it down.
Get your heart rate down.
Yeah.
Very important.
Relax your muscles.
Cool it down.
Okay?
Very nice.
Okay.
Good, give me some shoulder rolls back.
Three.
Four.
Reverse it.
Good.
Three.
Four.
Give me some nice stretches to the side.
To the side.
Ooh, yes.
Side.
And side.
And let's do that hamstring stretch.
It's a lot of footwork.
So one leg straight out with the toe up to the ceiling.
And just reach for your toe.
You don't have to touch your toe.
Just feel that nice stretch.
Your posterior chain from your glute to your foot.
And very nice.
Other side.
Ooh.
Yes.
Nice.
And toe up.
Reach.
Good job.
Good work.
Okay.
Very, very nice.
Okay.
Give me three.
Inhale, exhale.
Inhale.
And exhale.
Good.
Inhale.
And exhale.
One more with that clap at the top.
Good.
Inside out, hands.
And then lean to your right.
Feel that nice stretch.
It feels good.
Up and down your body.
Yeah.
On your left here.
And then center.
And other side.
Reach.
Feel yourself getting taller.
Ooh.
Okay.
Yeah.
I used to be four feet.
Now I'm 4'11".
Impressive.
All right.
Well, nice job on this cardio workout.
Good job.
All right.
So, we're gonna go right into our strength portion
of this workout.
Okay?
Yep.
So, we're gonna take a quick pause here
and we're gonna get started on the other side.
Okay.
Nice job on completing the cardio session of this workout.
Good job.
Now we're ready to get into our strength portion.
So, good for you.
All right.
You may wanna have a chair handy for stability
with some of these exercises.
And also, you may wanna sit down
for some of these exercises.
My mom and I are gonna play musical chairs
to see who gets the chair.
Who has the bigger butt to sit on the chair.
Right.
Okay.
So, we're gonna start out
with just a little quick warmup to get us going again.
Okay.
Yeah.
Just get those.
You're probably pretty warmed up,
but I hope you take a nice little break
in between the cardio and the strength here.
Very nice.
Okay.
Good to rest a bit.
That's right.
Just give me some heel touches forward.
Good.
Mm-hmm.
Nice.
Hey, good.
Hey, and just give me those shoulder rolls back.
Loosen that up.
Good, and forward.
And very nice.
Okay.
So, our first exercise is going to be the mini squat.
So, I want your feet to be shoulder width apart
with your toes just flared out just a tiny bit.
Okay.
And what you're gonna do is just gonna sit your butt back
as if you were sitting in a chair
and coming back up.
Okay.
So, it looks like this.
So, sitting our butt back and up.
Neutral spine, head and spine all in alignment here.
Okay.
So, no rounding of the back.
You just want to sit your butt back and up.
And you don't have to go deep.
What we want to do is we're engaging our glutes
and our hamstrings.
Okay.
So, let's aim for 10 here.
Here we go.
Ready?
Yeah.
So, this is 10 and up.
This is nine.
Good.
And eight.
Sit it back.
Seven.
Real easy on the knees.
Yeah.
This is six.
Good.
Five.
Good.
Four.
Good.
Three.
And breathe.
Two.
And one.
And rest.
Very nice.
How'd that feel, Mom?
Good.
You feel that in your glutes?
I feel it in the legs, yeah.
Yeah.
Good work.
Nice work.
All right.
That's one set.
Can you do another set of those?
Yep.
Okay.
We're gonna do two sets of those.
All right.
So, I really want to strengthen those glutes.
It's very important for walking
and anything that you do.
Okay?
So, breathe, breathe, breathe.
Take a breath.
You can take a sip of water.
That's fine, too.
Okay.
Let's do that again.
Okay.
Shoulder width apart.
Toes slightly out.
And sit back for 10.
Go.
10.
Very nice.
Nine.
Good.
This is eight.
Good.
This is seven.
Okay, sit your butt back.
Six.
Sit it back.
Five.
Nice.
Four.
Three.
Good.
Two.
And one.
And rest.
Ooh, feel that.
That feels nice.
Okay.
Good work.
Breathe.
Take a rest here.
Take a nice breath.
Just kind of shake those legs out.
Good work.
We're going to do another series of leg moves here.
Okay.
So, our next leg move is going to be,
you're going to be on your standing leg.
So, you want your standing leg to be knee over ankle.
Okay?
Slight bend in the knee.
And we're going to lift one leg forward,
the other leg forward.
Bring it back down.
And you're going to bring it to the side.
And down.
And then you're going to bring it back to the back.
And down.
Okay?
That's what that's going to look like.
So, it basically looks like this.
Front,
side,
and back.
If you notice, I'm standing up straight.
So, you're really engaging your core.
So, you're not moving back and forth.
Okay?
All right.
So, let's do five sets of these.
Oh, hello.
Would you like to sit in the chair?
Okay, good.
Okay.
Here we go.
So, we go forward and down.
And side and down.
Come on up.
Back and down.
And rest.
So, do another one.
So, forward, down.
This is side.
And back.
And down.
And rest.
And breathe.
Go.
Forward, down, and side.
Hello.
Down and back.
Down and rest.
Very good.
Okay, another set.
Here we go.
Forward,
down, to the side.
Down and back.
And down and rest.
You're really feeling this in your standing leg.
Right?
Good feeling.
Okay, working both.
So, one more set of these.
Here we go.
Forward, down, to the side.
Down and to the back.
And down and rest.
Good work.
Hey, little sweet boy.
Okay, Mom, we're gonna switch sides
because we gotta do the other side.
Okay, we're gonna use the cool chairs.
Here we go.
Oh, you know her, right?
Yes, it's like, what's going on?
Okay, so ready?
So, standing leg, knee over ankle.
Ready?
Here we go.
Forward, down, and side.
Down and back.
Down, that's one.
Breathe.
So, forward, down, and side.
Down and back.
Down and rest.
Okay, so, no rounding of the back, right?
Forward, down, and side.
Stand tall.
And back.
Down and rest.
Two more sets.
Ready?
Forward, down, to the side.
Down and to the back.
Down and rest.
Ready, one more?
One more.
Okay, go.
Forward.
And side.
Let me feel this leg.
Yes.
And rest.
Ooh, you really felt that in your standing.
Really working those legs, so nice work.
Okay, so you ready to move on
to our upper body?
Okay, so, for this section, you can pick up some weights.
Okay, we have weights.
I have weights, eights, tens.
My mom has threes and fives.
Okay?
I use the three.
Yeah, and I'm gonna use eights.
Okay?
Okay, babe.
All right, so what we're gonna do here,
since Mochi's commandeering the chair.
No one gets the chair but Mochi.
We didn't factor him in.
Okay, so feet shoulder width apart.
Okay, slight bend in the knees.
Okay?
Hinge at the hips.
Back neutral.
Head, spine all in alignment.
Watch me, right?
Okay, hands are just hanging down.
Okay?
And then we're gonna pull our shoulder blades together.
Pull it up.
It's not an elbow move, it's a back move.
Okay?
Bring it up and down.
Good.
This is up and down.
Very good.
Shoulder blades together.
Good.
I'm gonna call this one four.
Good.
Five.
Keep it going.
Six.
We're going to 10.
If you can't do 10, that's okay.
That's right.
Seven.
Do what you can.
This is eight.
Good work.
You don't have to use weights either.
Nine.
And 10.
Correct.
If you can't use weights, too heavy,
just do it without weights.
That's right.
That's fine.
It's fine.
That's fine.
Breathe.
Okay, we're only gonna do one set of those.
Our next move is shoulder press.
Shoulder press, I recommend not using weights at all,
or really, really light weights.
Your shoulder joint is very delicate,
so maybe I'm not using weights for this one.
Okay?
Yeah.
All we're gonna do is we're gonna have our hands
90 degrees, okay?
And we're just gonna press it up.
Give me a twist at the top, okay?
So it's twisting at the top and down.
You have to really kind of engage your core
so you're not arching your back, right?
Yeah.
Okay?
So twist at the top.
Really engage that midsection.
All right, so you're not arching your back.
Right.
Right?
I'm still, you know, your tummy.
Correct.
That's right.
You don't want, you don't want this, all right?
No.
Okay, keep going.
Give me four more.
Here we go.
Four.
Down.
And we're twisting at the top.
Three.
Down.
Good.
Two.
Down.
And one.
And down.
Very nice, everyone.
Okay, good work.
Okay, so our next move,
I want you to have one weight or no weight at all.
Okay?
One weight or no weight at all.
Use your light weight.
Now this one, this one you could do seated,
but clearly we're not gonna be seated for this one.
Our seat is occupied at the moment.
Okay, so, so here, here.
So the advanced move on here, I'm gonna show you this.
So just watch this for a minute.
Okay, so advanced move is feet hip distance apart.
Okay?
We have our weight above our head
and we're gonna pull our weight down
and lift our knee up at the same time.
Okay?
And then weight shift and do that.
Now, beginner move would just be,
just lift the weight up.
Just do a knee touch here.
You don't have to pull, put the weight above your head.
I think I'll do that one.
Okay, or put your weight down.
Okay?
I'll do it with the weight.
Okay?
I'm gonna do.
You're gonna go high.
Yeah, I'm gonna do 10 on each side.
Okay?
Okay.
So one and one.
Good.
Two and two.
Breathe everyone.
Three and three.
It's a good balance movement.
Four, it sure is.
Four.
You're weight shifting, right?
Yeah.
At the weight shift, engage your core.
Good.
Call this seven and seven.
Three more.
Eight and eight.
Good work.
Nine and nine.
One more set.
And 10 and 10 and rest.
Okay, breathe.
Need to take a sip of water?
Nope.
Take a sip of water.
Okay?
Very nice.
Okay, so for the next one,
we're gonna do side bend.
And I'm gonna invite you to take a seat here, Mom.
So you can show, take a little rest.
Can I use my weights?
Yeah.
You can use weights or not use weights.
Okay?
So have a seat in your chair, Mom.
Thank you, before my friend comes back.
Yes, and so your weights are just gonna be at your sides.
Oh, nice and warm.
Yeah.
He did a nice warmup job for you, okay?
And all we're gonna do,
okay, so sit up straight, okay?
And all we're gonna do is just lower one side,
bend the one side, and then up.
Okay.
And the other side.
And up.
Okay, working our obliques here.
Good.
And the other side.
Very nice.
This is three.
What's this called?
This is side bend.
And three.
Working our obliques.
Four.
And four.
Good.
And five.
Good.
Six.
And six.
Nice work.
Oh, yeah.
Seven.
And seven.
Good.
Eight.
And eight.
Good.
Nine.
And one more set.
10 and 10.
And rest.
Good job.
How's that?
Good.
Good, okay.
Very nice.
Okay, rest, breathe.
Take a big breath.
Yeah.
Okay, take a breath.
Very nice.
You wanna sit back in your chair a little bit more,
right now, for this one.
Okay?
Last move.
It's just gonna be basic bicep curl.
Arnie's move?
Not Arnie, yeah, well.
It is an Arnie move.
Okay?
So I want palms facing out.
Okay?
And yeah, you can rest them on your thighs.
Very good.
Maintain your posture, okay?
Engage that core.
And we're just going up and down.
Up.
You're in my brain as well.
Okay?
Up and down.
Good.
Going for 10.
This is nine.
Good.
This is eight.
Very nice.
Seven.
Breathe.
Six.
Good.
Five.
Nice.
Four.
Three.
Two.
And one.
And rest.
Nice job.
Okay, weights down.
Good work.
Thank you.
Nice beginner.
Strength training session here.
Okay.
So let's stretch it out.
Okay?
You wanna sit?
Wanna do the stretch and sit?
All right.
Okay.
We can do that hamstring stretch, which we can do.
Yeah.
One foot.
Yeah, yeah.
That'll go with you.
Okay.
One leg straight out.
Toe up to ceiling.
We did this in the previous cool down.
Okay, good.
Very important to stretch those legs out.
Other side.
And down.
And breathe.
Good work.
Good job.
Okay, very nice.
Okay.
Give me some point and flexes with the feet.
Okay?
It's always kind of nice to do at the end.
Okay?
Good.
Give me some circles.
Other side.
It would feel good if you could take off your shoes.
Oh.
Well, you could kick them off if you wanted to.
Okay.
Go on.
I like this move because it just feels good.
Your feet need, your feet do a lot of work.
Yeah, circles, circles, circles.
They sure do.
Very nice.
Okay, very good.
Let's do that little spinal twist.
Okay?
So you want to sit up in your chair
and just twist it over.
Put your arm back.
Yes.
And you can, you can put your hand over here.
Okay.
Just twist.
Good.
Okay.
And center.
Let's go the other side.
And breathe.
Very nice.
Okay, good.
Let's stretch those arms out.
Arms in a T.
Okay.
Arm across the chest.
Good, okay.
That's good.
That's fine.
Pick your direction.
That's no problem.
Okay, good.
And arms in a T again.
And let's go across the chest.
Good.
Breathe.
It feels good.
Yes.
Okay, nice.
And give me that nice, big diagonal reach here.
Good.
Other side.
Really nice workout.
Okay, give me three.
Inhale, exhales.
And up.
And down.
And up.
And down.
And one more.
Up.
And clap at the top.
Good.
And with a lean to your right.
Nice work.
And center.
And lean to your left.
And center.
And rest.
Excellent work.
Good job.
On this strength training session.
Congratulations on completing both cardio
and strength for day two.
Really proud of you.
So good work.
All right.
And did you see the secret word?
So make sure you collect those secret words
so that you can submit all of them
for an entry into our New Year's Sweepstakes.
Okay.
All right.
So thank you for joining us.
Great job on day two.
We look forward to seeing you tomorrow.
